"Girbauds hanging baggy, Tommy Hilfiger top gear" - Grand Puba. That was me all day in the mid 90's. It brought back memories. Great video. I was expecting to see LL, Jay-Z, and Diddy but a great video nevertheless. #salute
Very original vid Jeff! I might add LL and Heavy D. on my list, but you having Slick Rick, BDK and Run DMC on there means you covered the essential requirements!
You've got some pretty good names on this list, Big daddy Kane was def one of my favs! Honorable mentions: - Kwame polka dots /hairstyle - LL with his troop clothing line - Heavy D (big man style) - puffy - Kool Moe Dee (hats & shades)
Phew!! I started worrying when I didn't see Slick Rick on the list. Fortunately, he came in at #1. The suits and Bally shoes were on point! Well done!!
Honorable mentions: Fabolous Common Jay-Z Great list though. I respect your list OG! Dope video as always! Salute! (A salute back in your video would be pretty cool) 😎
Brother styleOG we here on RU-vid land appreciate the time and energy you put forth in order to bring us these very informative and helpful videos, we look forward to them daily and know how much it takes to constantly come up with content in order to drop these daily hits, so for that we wanna give u a massive SALUTE and big up, we support u all the way brother!
Man i love your list and your channel and don miss a single video. I completely agree with the list but you cannot make Rapper-Style list without the inventor of leather and your jacket that you are wearing -Gerald Gillum aka G-Eazy. you coulda add macklemore to, he kinda takes big risks but looks so fly everywhere he goes. What are your thouts on these two? You look def like you was inspired by G Eazys style ;)
I see people saying Fab and Jay but I'm going to throw a curve ball and say Young Dro should've been put on the list as well. He ushered in a the new wave of "Black boy swag, white boy tags" and made looking dapper gangster. I would like to see you do this type of list with other genres and sports too. I think it would be an interesting series to add to the repertoire. #SaluteOG
Chance the Rapper. He went to some event wearing a kind of retro 70s outfit with an embossed brown leather belt with a yellow buckle that looked like a lemon. Coolest belt I’ve ever seen, guessing it was one of a kind but maybe not - what do I know. But it was definitely iconic, the way I try to dress for my very casual office.
MC Ricky D number 1....I'll take that...Rick was fly...congrats my dude you gotta bout 2k subs since I been watching like 10 days ago you was at 28k...salute
Man when i was in the 5-6th grade i wanted all those rapper clothing lines so bad. Sean John, Rocawear, especially G-unit. Their stuff was actually great quality too and lasted forever. Would be dope to hear your opinions on that whole era of hip-hop fashion.
Salute OG!! As always good content. On the low though check TI. Tip style game has stepped up in a major way. You had no Philly cats on your list? Outkast greatest rap group of all time homie... hmm?
All the rappers mentioned definitely had their own style. From your list I like Pharrell and Cam'ron, in terms of style. On my list, I would have included LL Cool J. What about MC Hammer? (haha, just kidding on that one) My top two rappers, Twista (not too stylish) and Suga Free (also had his own style) Salute! Cool video, you should do another on R&B singers.
Yo O.G. I just wanna say thanks for making content for us black men to relate to we need more of it in this space... Jay-Z and Fab should of made the list and Andre 3k shoulda been higher imo.. but i'm young-ish...
Jeff, I agree with Nas Escobar appearing on this list, however, given the style lessons you've given on this channel people would expect artists like LL Cool J, Sean "P Diddy" Combs. ....besides Nas, the other artists mentioned had no structure or pattern to their style. they were basically rocking "gold ropes" as you mention it and just random apparel - my opinion as you requested.
Great video! I like Jay-Z I don't know if P-Did is a real "rapper" but he is stylish as well. Nice list, it's just so many it's hard to get'em all in.....
Digg'n the tee hey I want to agree to disagree with a few of your entries you overlooked of just somehow missed common, jay-z, snoop dog stylish rappers in their own right great video thanks Jeff.
Mos Def is a pretty stylish dude. Or was anyway, I've not seen nothing of him in years. And I'd say The Game, although nothing outlandish he just looks cool. Jay Z as well
That's what I'm talking about O.G.! You read my mind but I gotta tell you since you from Philly if EST of three times dope ain't up there I'm questioning you for the first time lol
The Style O.G., Not at all... Most of the Rappers coming up Wanted to Dress like L.L. And copied his swagg. This is best dressers not best Rappers... Take Big and Petty Tony off the list... And EASY E TOO!
