Top 15 RARE Champions in 2024 (Ranked 15 to 1) 

I actually think Salina Nightcloak might be up there, as an account that has a grand total of 1 AOE burn champion in Ignatius, her A3 with a modest chance to land a burn on a 3-hit at random with increase Accuracy before attacking is about as close to a non-single target burn as i can find until i finish getting Drexthar. She also has an AOE on her A2 with a chance to extend the duration of burns by a turn, and a 10% heal on her A1 (20% against targets with a burn active) alongside a small turn meter boost each time a burn ticks on her passive make her one of the more unique and interesting rares for my particular situation.

My man Longsword Torrux is an absolutely underrated gem. My no.1 tip with him is provoke set and 100% crit rate, as you mentioned he actually kinda smacks, so 100% crit rate is a must with his self amp ability. But the provoke set, combined with fearsome presence not only makes his A2 immensely more reliable, but that along with his passive has a chance to enable "The Angar Effect" where every time a provoked champ takes a turn, they just get provoked again. Insanely powerful.

Great list. I understand putting Gnarlhorn so high but gotta advocate to keep Pain Keeper in that 2nd spot. She is used in SO many end game areas. Clan Boss, Iron Twins, even Hydra with some of the auto taunt loop teams. At one point I needed 6 different speed tuned Pain Keepers.

Athel is by far the best long-term investment of the four starters and not just because of her extra turn but because of that strong version of weakness on her A1 with a high percentage of landing in multiple strikes

Shadowkin Odachi,is pretty amazing fully booked.he has a provoke on his A1.i run him in a provoke set w/2 accurate gear.good against Molten dragon.

So first, I LOVE THE EDITOR!!! thanks for the laughs 😆 Second, I'm surprised you didn't include Panthera, she's such a powerful champion, I honestly didn't notice her until after I sold her 5* blessing but that's another story haha btw I would recommend ppl nowadays to invest in rare champions (other than the top ones) only after getting a high value blessing of them. Other cool rares that were worth mentioning imo are: Dilgol, Paragon and Ironclad

Heiress is absolute marvel of a champ in Demytha teams. The way she works in that comp is so genius. Cleanse at the start of the turn, Increase SPD. Then counter attacks while allies get hit or stunned with Toxic gear that put poisons. It's just too good. In that context, she's top 3 rare, doing her job to the perfection. AND she also completes the daily quest for a Rare in CB team. Because of her, Myth Heir teams feel like a limousine ;D

I would add Odachi and Seducer. Both can be critical help in advancing almost all areas of the game. And due to the restrictive content and their durability, they can be used in multiple areas into late game. But i think these two as standouts can help the starter rares overcome obstacles like no other. Having block debuffs and def up on all allies is absolutely critical when pushing new content. And odachi hits like a truck, and can help push in iron golem

Nice vid. As an end game player I have not relied on many rares for years (exception certainly being CH, Painkeeper and one or two more), so this was quite an interesting video to watch. Even learned a couple things. ;-)

Great list. I'm quite a fan of Petrifya Rockroot. She seems almost like a Fayne yet in the Rare catagory.

On the question of favorite cleanser, automatically was going to say Wythir, but I realized in reality I get cleansing and reviver in one by playing Pythion in that role most on the time. I appreciate this video. I'd been on the fence about whether Knott was worth 6 stars. A have 5 star faultless defense blessing on him so playing him in Cursed City gives me a lot of flexibility in other champs I can use where there is a minimum number of stars to participate. On the snub, Selinia Nightcloak is a beast. She hits hard and has a 100 base speed. Rare HP burns are hard to find.

I got my first void legendary pull on day 225. I also pulled Seer twice, Shamael twice, Serris, pulled my Maneater on month 4 along with Pain Keeper on the same 10 pulls. I got my Skraank, Fellhound etc. I have pretty much every great void epics except Godseeker and every void rares... except the greatest rare in the god damned game lmao. I know who is first in these videos but i still watch it to cry again in the end lol. I'm with you on all the placement except Gnarlhorn and PK. I think they could swap. Gnarlhorn is great and unique but Pain Keeper is crazy useful nomatter where the account is. Early game, mid game, end game there will be a PK team in the account.

Glad you mentioned Heiress, she is one of my go to Rares, great in Clan Boss but can be used elsewhere as well.

certain places have ties, certain spots are repeated multiple time ;) I would have seen Master Butcher on the list before kurzad but it's because he can help with Bomal and Hydra (one of the most dependable provoke and special heal and emergency revive) And then Doomscreech still is one of the rare 30% turn meter fill on a 3 turn cooldown... not as bonkers as Seeker but very good for a rare

A great substitute for Castigator thats better in a lot of pve situations is Centurion because for his hp balance he swaps his remaining hp with a enemy's hp and then hp balances giving you a almost guaranteed full heal. Their still has to be a add at full health for you to be able to use. Its also incredibly nasty in pvp because you can wait till your at 5%.hp to swap your health and then all of sudden your champions are at a mucher higher amount of hp than your opponents and your opponents Miss-Created Monster is at 5%. He is a useful champion that can deal with ally protection, tanks, and counter almost any 1 counter in 1 single hp swap while giving you one of the best heals in the game.

Coldheart - I haven't used any of mine outside of a secret room in so long. I actively use 5 painkeepers everyday - she enables my clanboss team, my iron twins team, and I am working on 2 more for a hydra team - she is an endgame rare, coldheart not so much

Just gotta say, I am personally very fond of the dwarf wrestler. Idk how he is overall but he helped me a lot progess through every part of the game, (campaign, dungeons, clan bosses ECT.)

I will 100% vouch for hellsfreak. This guy is a nuker...if built correctly. I have him in perception and righteous as well as fatal...and high emphasis on speed and crit rate/damage. This guy is excellent for wave content..despite him not having any AoE attacks. His A3 is amazing when fully booked...and his A2 is amazing if accuracy is built correctly...I have a 5 and 6 awakened hellsfreak with phantom touch...give them a good support system like demytha and someone who can provide increase attack/crit rate/dam....and u got yourself one hell of a show.

I don’t see many mention Bulwark, but as a mid-game player he is essential in my brutal and nightmare clan boss. Every time I try to replace him with a new epic, my team seems to do worse. Since I don’t have any other with buff extensions he has just been so good for my account only a few months into the game.

Hey Ash just had a quick question on if you have a recommendation for a good blessing for Rathalos Blademaster since I was lucky enough to pull a Five-star Soul for him from a single immortal soulstone a few days ago.

when you double dip on an artifact/ability (torrux in provoke) is the percentage from the set cumulative to the ability or does it just give you two small percentagec chances to proc the anility? (i should know this by now but have never personallyb come across the crux of the matter)

All 4 of the rares that were involved in the Bamboos Fourleaf fusion are pretty solid. Selenia NightCloak is especially worth investing in for the Hydra. I like Torux longsword enough that I built two of him. Those are my two favorites from that fusion. I can't stress enough how much I love Prosecutor. A champ that has a very similar kit to her is Lifetaker. They're like the magic and spirit affinity versions of eachother

The Goonies is special to me too due to growing up and having fond memories of watching it. I even loved the Goonies game on good old Nintendo 8-bit- God, we're old. 😂

War Maiden still gets a lot of play in Sintranos for me. And I'm end-end-end-end game.

I leveled Sylvian Boughsmith Flannon to 60, he is amazing champ for soul cross, speed reduction, stun, ally attack. Works really well with Broodlord and White Dryad Nia for locking down waves with slows and stuns

I live only a couple of hours from Astoria. If there ever was a real Halloweentown, it'd be Astoria. The vibes there are crazy.

Selinia Nightcloak is honestly a really good rare, I definitely would include her because her kit synergizes so well, she does good damage and she has very good sustainability. Shadowbow Tirlac is another good one he provides increase speed, veil, shield(based on his HP), and decrease attack. He is a hard one to take down, he smacks and protects the team.

I Totally agree with Selinia Nighcloak as needing to be on this list along with Steel Bowyer because of her A3 Enemy Max Hp attacking all enemies with the damage increasing according to the enemy max HP.

Torrux is one of a few champs I use that I randomly pulled a 5 star blessing for

I started a new FTP account in January and didn't get any amazing pulls. I did get Treeshield Knott though and he's been pretty good for the account. I didn't get a reviver on my main account for a few months, the difference in what you can do is pretty great.

I have a 6* soul for Gnarlhorn. Should I 60 him now or later? I'm roughly 3 months in.

Have you had a chance to try out the new Sylvan Watchers rare Boughsmith Flannan? I was trying to decide if he was worth building or not.

ASH! Next time you get a chance to do a video about uncommon Champs, check out Zephyr Sniper! I still use her in some content in the late game. Stun or provoke set, DEF based, and increase skill cooldown. She brings a lot of control

Yeah, I think Kurzad get hated on because he doesn't smack. I agree with him being on the list because of his outstanding utility. And couldn't agree more on Coldheart's #1 ranking. Also, I use Abyssal a LOT. Not just in Faction Crypts, but in the Doom Tower and Sintranos.

i love this series^^ right now i am in a challenge with trying to beat the game with only rares and below and it is extremely hard xD but rares are really fun^^

The only reason I kept a Kurzad is because of you! However, I use increase accuracy in Hydra and Doom Tower. And in both cases, I rely on Razelvarg!

Pythion is my #1 Cleanser/ healer but Acolyte is slept on for his debuff and turn control skills

Abyssal is a great candidate for faultless Defense blessing as well!

I have longsword Torrux on one of my accounts, it was one of the first rare pulls I got, sadly not my main account which I play the most though. Warmaiden is used in a fusion, so if you plan to go for that, make sure to farm 2 of her at least. Same with executioner and a few other rares. I feel Warmonger might be slept on by some people. Some would describe him as "Better than Athel" or "the rare upgrade to Athel" and I can't disagree on that. love Athel, she is my starter champion and I got 2 warmongers I'm leveling up. What annoys me with Coldheart is not that her kit is basically epic or even legendary, but that she is a Void shard only pull. I feel they should have made her at least an epic. Or lower the shard quality in which you can pull her to Ancient or something.

You know what i like about this: It's doable for every player!! I'd appreciate more of this, rather than "Build your 3 billion Hydra team" with resources hardly a few players have access to ...

Actually i use Fellhound all the time!!! I put him in a stun set. And he can hit and control. I put him fast and shut off his a2 and a3. He can solo some cursed city content.

I think Steel Bowyer, Castigator, and Spymaster are great Champions. Steel Bower can perform in a lot of the same roles as Cold Heart. But main way Steel Bowyer is different is here enemy max hp attack is a aoe and thats great for end game content like Ice Golem and against high hp buulds in arena. Castigator can heal the champion with highest hp and equalize hp and that means each of your hp bars will look the same. Hp Balance can be the best heal in the game because its one of the only ones that can take a champion from 1% hp to full hp and that can be huge in some pve content. I would also have to that Spymaster is probably better than Gnarlhorn because he can provoke 2 champions and cast counter attack on himself. This makes great for almost everything in the game and he has block buffs on a aoe. Additionally he has a 60% chance when booked to decrease the buff duration of 2 random buffs by 1 turn. I would have to say that apart from aoes counter attack is useless without provoke because without you can't force your opponent attack a champion with counter attack allowing as player to lose 1 round or turn(can't remember it properly).

I solo Fellhound with Bommal in cursed city. Manual though ... to ensure the timing of block damage.

What happened to marquees and odaci love the list

No question for me that Renegade is #1 Rare. It all depends who else you have though. People who have Kymar or Yumeko totally underestimate how much Renegade unlocks for speed farming. It's true she doesn't enable any content really, just makes it possible to speed farm a lot of dungeons better. But for me she has been by far the best in late game. Earlier not so much, then Coldheart, Reliquary, Dagger were more useful for me. Apart from Faction Wars Renegade, Gnarlhorn and Hellborn Sprite are the only Rares I still use regularly in teams now.

no love for Spirit host. on my new acct I was able to clear dt bommal because of her. she was the only one left and kept healing herself with the a1 as the bombs were going off and timely application of her a3 block debuffs. granted it was normal dt lvl 10.

I got petrifya.. I paired her with Kalvalax and Kael in my clan boss team.

I know he's nobody's favorite, but Mystic Hand can be a lot of fun.

Spirithost should get an honorable mention as she is great early game with the speed aura, increase attack, and debuff cleanse.

At level 40 i dont have a single one of these. Had warmaiden but used her to 6 star kael

What about Gator?? He has the fastest debuff removal for all, equivalent to some leggo champ.

Skullsworn is a beast at early game he’s better than all the starters at quick progression

Heya Ash, u mentioned Warmaiden was only rare in game to have aoe version of 60% decreased defense, i found 1 other that has it also, Fleshmonger rare from Skinwalkers. Admittedly its only a 50% chance but booked takes it to 75%.

Kael! He might be a starter champ but his poison is still going strong for me in mid-game. I use him in Nightmare demon lord clan boss.

PK maybe should be higher. She makes unkillable teams possible in Demon Lord, Hydra, Iron Twins, & Sand Devil. That, on top of what you already went over.

Not going to lie but galek is one of my favorite it just matters who you place him with and been burning and running just to get the legendary version

And of course, if you're struggling with Bommal and the magma dragon? throw in the chad. The myth. The Legend Master Butcher. Build one, you won't regret it, amazing tank and nuke damage soaker, will soak bommal's bombs, will taunt the magma dragon. Shall help you in Faction wars as well. Go champion, inject that guy with power.

Fellhound is in my Doom Tower wave team with Martyr and Longbeard. Only use his A1, Longbeard in reflex with A2 turned off. Change out the other champs as needed.
