@@CanobieCoaster for sure! Tho quite incredibly Rollercoaster tycoon was incredibly popular among the Dutch (OpenRCT2 has a massive Dutch user base still) even though when the original game came out Six Flags Holland did not have a good lineup yet, neither did Efteling with exception being the Python, which is now considered to become an official Dutch monument, and Toverland didn't even exist yet. I am curious how much of an impact that has had on the over all industry. Six Flags investments in general I think really made a lot of Dutch toosies.
@@CanobieCoaster The park's director at the time wanted a splash that in no way would obstruct the view of the boat, so spectators would be able to see the smiles on passengers faces especially during the splashdown.
I enjoyed the Dutch parks so much. And I don’t think any park charmed the socks off me so much right from the first visit as Efteling did - except maybe Knoebels, which has a totally different vibe but can also blow you away with charm if you’re on the right wavelength.
Great vid! If you intend to do something similar for France, I think you should include Vertika at La Récré des 3 Curés, or at least mention it, as it is often forgotten and underrated imo. It’s a great smooth custom Eurofighter that rips through its layout, you might have not even heard about it but it’s definitely worth to take a look at and maybe ride it one day if you get the occasion to!
I've done all of them being a dutchy that isn't to difficult. I think you pretty much got the 15 best ones, I do have some differnt placements. I got Python a bit higher, as Fenix and since i don't really like the Goliath type coasters all that much that one is much lower. So my top 3 would be: 1 Untamed 2 Fenix 3 Lost gravity
For me, Troy had a nice out-of-control feeling, but NO airtime. Joris had a similar out-of-control feel, AND it had wild airtime, AND it had real racing and great theming.
For Troy to finally give me the rides everyone raved about, I had to ride it on a 100 degree day. My past rides in 70ish degree weather were good, but below Joris.
@@CanobieCoasterI can agree with you. But troy goes to the bottom of the list, the trauma it caused me for years as a child and the amount of rides I missed due to that...
Thank you for the list. Falcon has some headbanging on the cutback but is enjoyable. Bob was fantastic. Goliath is just fun. Untamed is in a different league. Python was the first looper for me as a kid. When I rode Troy last year I thought it was so rough it caused a headache. .
@@CanobieCoaster it seems they did very little re-tracking in the 2023 off-season as summer 2023 was defintely rougher for me than fall 2022. will probably ride it again soon, I'll keep you updated.
This is realy cool video btw I’m realy disappointed in Disneyland bc there was a chance that it came to The Netherlands 🇳🇱 but they choose Paris instead 😢
I’m a Dutchman that heavily values ride theming and atmosphere, I’ve not been to Duinrell or Drievliet but here is my list for coasters in my country, purely based on personal enjoyment. (Only coasters that I’ve ridden) 1. Fénix 2. Untamed 3. Vogel Rok 4. Troy 5. Joris en de Draak 6. De Vliegende Hollander 7. Baron 1898 8. Lost Gravity 9. Goliath 10. Gold Rush 11. Dwervelwind 12. Goldrush 13. Python 14. Xpress (Bob) 15. Booster Bike
My list: (not ridden: Formule X, Vogel Rok) 1. Untamed 2. Fēnix 3. Troy 4. Goliath 5. Lost Gravity 6. Baron 1898 7. Joris en de Draak 8. Gold Rush 9. De Vliegende Hollander 10. Dwervelwind 11. Python 12. Xpress 13. Falcon 14. Booster Bike 15. Bob Feel free to ask about any explanations of placements!
All low and slow coasters. As being Dutch it's frustrating the tallest coasters are found in the US, and I would love to ride Kingda Ka, but for me even that coaster could be 2 times higher. Will there ever be a coaster that will make a drop from 1 km height? That would be awesome
You don’t have to travel to the US for a tall coaster. We have tall B&M hypers in Silver Star and Shambala. When you travel to Poland you have Hyperion, which is almost a giga.
Everytime I see videos like this one I realize howy lucky we are here in The Netherlands. So many awesome coasters for all ages. You can start small at parks like Oud Valkeveen or Dippiedoe or Drouwenerzand or one of many other smaller parks and when you grow up there is a park for every phase you are in as a child all the way to the bigger thrills like Untamed. Besides that we have all the Belgian parks and great parks in Germany, like Movie Park and Phantasialand , all within driving distance. You can even throw Europa Park, Parc Asterix and Disneyland Paris into the mix.
living close to walibi holland, I have visited the park many times and I gotta say, even though I have visited a few other parks. Walibi has the best coasters of all of them. (exept for the condor)
I hate Untamed and RMC with a foot bar, which is a shame. l love the sensation of free legs. The restrains are killing me since my knees aren't that bendable. I also much prefer the airtime on Goliath.
Xpress: Platform 13 has a great story behind the attraction: There was a metro station which was cursed. During the opening there was a huge accident. A reporter and his cameraman went to the crime scene and were haunted too. Since then it is a haunted station where nobody wants to go
@@CanobieCoaster I do too, but that’s exactly why I like Fenix. Where in Europe do you find a B&M with airtime at all, let alone a wing coaster? Fenix has a straight up ejector hill which really sells the ride for me. I love the fact that it’s short cause the other wing coasters I’ve ridden like Fluch der Damonen and Raptor really just don’t do anything in their entire ride length.
My current top 20: 1 Troy Toverland 2 Untamed Walibi Holland 3 Joris en de Draak Efteling 4 Goliath Walibi Holland 5 Fénix Toverland 6 Gold Rush Slagharen 7 Baron 1898 Efteling 8 Lost Gravity Walibi Holland 9 Vliegende Hollander Efteling 10 Python Efteling 11 Formule X Drievliet 12 Vogel Rok Efteling 13 Rodelbaan Waarbeek 14 Dwervelwind Toverland 15 Falcon Duinrell 16 Booster Bike Toverland 17 Xpress Walibi Holland 18 Alpine Coaster Snow World 19 Tweestryd Wildlands 20 Twistrix Drievliet I had to place Rodelbaan at Waarbeek in there, I think it's a national treasure and 13 is as high as I dared put it. Troy has gotten some extensive trackwork done over the winter so I've yet to ride it anew. It's hanging in there at spot one as I have a love-hate relationship with Untamed, a ride that is rough on my legs. Lost Gravity in its opening year was an easy top 5 placement, but it's gotten record rough in record time and I can't put it any higher than this.
You did pretty good on Dutch pronunciation until you got to Vliegende Hollander, Vliegenge means flying. Flea-kende is probably the best way to explain it in English
Go ride it and you know why its not on it. It toses you around like a ragdoll. It's sort of fun for one or two rides if you like that sort of thing for most of us however......
It's enjoyable if you keep your head back and your neck straight, but it's by no means a smooth experience. I wouldn't mind Walibi taking the thing down and placing a new suspended coaster
@@bonenintomatensaus I happen to like SLC but i'm not sure if the vest retraines where an improvement. I used to be able it about 5 times now its about 2 times. Its sort of fun though.
In my opinion a great list! I'm from the Netherlands and love to go to theme parks. I went to Walibi, Drievliet and Efteling multiple times. Still have to visit Toverland some time I guess. It's just a little far away
I definitely agree with you. One change I personally have though is that I would rank python above vogel rock because python has those 4 inversions that I like a lot and if you ride in the very back row you can get some mild floater airtime on the drop.
I have done the 3 major parks but no other park in the Netherlands. My top 12 is as follows: 1. Untamed 2. Goliath 3. Troy 4. Lost gravity 5. Fenix 6. Joris en de draak. 7. Baron 1898 8. Dwervelwind 9. X press platform 13 10. Vilegende Hollander 11. Booster Bike 12. Python. I will be revisiting these parks in July. Great 3 parks.
Can you do top coasters in Germany and Belgium also? I am going to Efteling, Toverland, Walibi Holland, Walibi Belgium, Plopsaland De Panne, Movie Park Germany amd Phantasialand next month and I'd love to know what to expect!
@CanobieCoaster thank you I'll have a look for them now! It's possible that I already watched them as I've been a dedicated follower for the last couple of years haha! Thanks for the great content!
Nice collection of parks if you like good theme parks and like coasters (although eftelings coasters aren't that thrilling the rest of the park is very nice though).
Awesome list, although I would change quite some things… fēnix is my fav coasters in the Netherlands. Troy is horrofying, and I would place Vogel Rok a lot higer, and lost gravity at 15 xD
@@CanobieCoaster interesting. In the netherlands we call it a 'rammelbak' which means a piece of crap. I like the coaster but god it's so shaky and intense.
Interresting how different my list is from this one! (Been to Toverland, Walibi, Efteling and Slagharen) 1 Untamed 2 Troy 3 Vliegende Hollander 4 Gold Rush 5 Goliath 6 Joris en de Draak 7 Lost Gravity 8 Baron 1898 9 Fenix 10 Dwervelwind *Bob *Robin Hood 11 X-Press platform 13 12 Vogel Rok 13 Speed of Sound 14 Python 15 Booster Bike
@@CanobieCoaster thanks! I personally liked it a lot better than most. I also love Loop Garou (Robin Hood didnt have an as good layout, but the roughnes was pretty equel, and I dont mind that at all!)
The only thing that has been confirmed is that they will be opening their tallest attraction to date (between 45 and 60 meters) around that time, I’ve heard no one say a thing about those 2 types specifically. A Vekoma or B&M “hyper” (that isn’t quite a hyper) would suit the park way better imo.
There is permission to build over the height of Pagode and I’m interested in what’d be built. A taller coaster than Baron 1898 could work for the park, if the focus of course will lay on the theming (surely it will). It’s still a park that isn’t meant to be too thrilling, as it is more so a full package deal.
@@PoffHistory I’ve heard no one say this rumor and I’m heavily engaged in the Efteling fanbase, the demand for a B&M hyper is far greater among them and imo a Vekoma would be a much better fit too, given that modern intamin mega’s and blitzes share a lot of things in common with rmc’s, so you have Goliath, untamed and Kondaa quite close to it that you compete directly with. A B&M or Vekoma would make more sense
