There are so many actors who have portrayed Hercules, it's hard to pick a favorite. What I like about the version portrayed be Sorbo is his affable demeanor. Like he's in on the joke.:)
eh, i'd only give her anti-hero status at that point, her whole belief was that there would be no war if everyone lived under the same banner, which is true, but there is no honor among warlords.
Hera definitely hated Hercules the most in the series, but Dahak was definitely the biggest villain that Hercules ever faced. Dahak was far more powerful and evil than Hera ever was.
@@seanconnolly5968 I always felt like the Water Enforcer was stronger against Hercules. She had to be evaporated to be defeated, whereas the Fire Enforcer just overheated and exploded.
Dahak was without a doubt the greatest villain in both Hercules and Xena. He pretty much sought to destroy the entire universe and reshape it as he saw fit. And he used both sidekicks for his plans, he violated Gabrielle to impregnate her, and he had Iolaus killed to steal his body.
In mythology Hercules killed his family while magically enraged. A better story, which became an ongoing problem with this show. But whatever, I was like 10.
That's why they needed to change it. Children watched this show with their families during daytime hours on weekends. Imagine if they ask their parents what happened, and the parents had to say "oh well Daddy killed Mommy, next the kids." 😮
@TheStiff Poor Kevin Sorbo? The actress who played Hercules' second wife is Sorbo's real-life wife. As a matter of fact, they met and fell in love while filming these episodes.
Nothing, Dahak was a whole other level above the gods. Besides, Dahak wanted to be killed while possessing Iolaus as it would make him even more powerful.
@@Bardim18 Dahak himself was a completely incorporal being. Whenever he was seen, it were just manifestations or a host body. It was never even really confirmed that god killer weapons would work even on Hope (who could be killed even by regular means but simply came back and regenerated her body) They just decided to use the Hind´s Blood Dagger and well, hoped for the best (no pun intended).
Though this isn't too bad hercules series was a mix of ancient greece with medieval era,it kinda blend pretty nicely as a whole. But it needed some times to be a little more serious, because i believe that in some supposedly funny episodes was like they mock ancient greece and the mythology as a whole! Xena on the other hand though had a fair share of weird & funny episodes, was more serious since was something more original than a legend taken from mythology to have the freedom to make some new stuff with the story.I won't say i didn't watched it in general since it was really fun and enjoyable,i always admire the effort usa puts to honor our greek mythology in general showing that they love those stuff. But it is some times that especially in this series they were gotten over the top in many topics ruining a little the fun because they were think this was funny.I don't say it because i felt insulted or anything, since i do know that greek mythology has its fair share of weirdness as well, but some times the way of expressing funny is not so much because it isn't really funny as a comedy. In general i loved this show and xena as well which shared the same world and stuff, and was also a successful show running for 6 seasons as well having really strong memories with those! 😉
Of course hera is the arch enemy of Hercules just like in the myth stories. Ares hardly interact and fought with Hercules in the myths. In the show, Ares wasnt that evil by making hercules' life miserable like hera did. Hera is just plain vile, she murdered Hercules family, put hercules' friends and mother in danger and made his father weak and ruined his relationship with his father
sadly that can happen when someone gets high on their own crap, Hercules was the role that made him and he hadnt retained any of the Half-God's humility.
nah, she was just stuck in limbo with Kronos the Titan named after Time. Gods know that Herc should've destroyed her at one point, but that's just not Herc's code, that is always a last resort only and in the end that only would've hurt Zeus and Herc knows more than anything what it feels like to lose your wife.@@minatodroger7890
@@StareachValcinwell actually Zeus grandson have free hera with the aid of Zeus. Anyway hera was kicking Hercules butt & Hercules was a full god in that episode. This is showing how crazy OP hera really is. Although she wasn't a match for her brother/husband Zeus. 😒 But I do believe if hera try to put up a fight she could have a fighting chance to stay alive. Anyway nonetheless Hera was known to be the Lord over the Heavens way before she ended up married Zeus. In real mythos There's was a reason why Zeus wasn't trying to angry Hera because she was also was the strongest of her other's sisters. And stated she was pretty much equal with her brothers Hades and Poseidon. Although there's many different types of storylines about the Greek gods origins. But each different versions of hera tell that Hera was an goddess that other gods & goddesses alike their was also in fear of Hera Wrath. Making Hera a top Apex predator. Especially when Hera became ruler of Mountains of Olympics & gain a title of being The Queen of the God's.
I think that was key to the shows success. The main reason favorite actors leave tv shows - is conflict schedules with other projects. If characters can be resurrected, your favorite Stars can return again and again. :)
worth watching even today if you like Fantasy, coupled with Xena: Warrior Princess you'd have plenty of hours of good Fantasy. it comes from the dude that created the Evil Dead franchise, whom he himself appeared on both shows as Joxer The Mighty.
Funny, Sorbo legacy drown into the toilet, meanwhile Lawless legacy continue on, meanwhile Sorbo whines about his acting career, Lawless actually did something with it, and did great shows after Hercules and Xena.
