I think people are usually not giving compliments for watches. I have a nice collection of great, amazing watches, and in over 50 years I never ever got a compliment for wearing a nice watch.

I have over 30 watches and I've only received compliments on my really funky ones (any of my Mr Jones Watches) or my Longines 1918 Heritage. Almost all compliments have been from guys. Unless it's my girlfriend or a waitress being nice

@@MrDanielWP same here, but I have got a few on my Gshock and on a Seiko5 depending on the environment tho, a Gshock in a classroom is just a watch that looks sporty but for most people most "metal watches" are a "nice watch"

In the past two weeks I've seen three different watch-centric RU-vidrs explicitly state, "Nobody else cares about your watch." More specifically, they stated that unless the other person is similarly into watches, they will, at most, notice that you're wearing one (or not). One of the commenters stated that women will mostly notice whether it's shiny. On the other hand, if your peer group is a bunch of men whose livelihoods are tied to men's fashion, your watch will receive an above-average amount of attention.

I'm looking for a new watch right now so this video helps a lot. I particularly like wearing them only with suits/jackets and prefer silver to match my metals. BTW, always look forward to the Saturday morning videos. It's good to wake up, get a little RMRS, then eat breakfast with the family.

The very first thing I notice about watches is proportion to wrist. If I see big guy with 8inch wrist wearing 39mm... not a point of interest. And vice versa.

Try a gelette skingard razor it will help you or grow a beard and trimm it using a beard trimmer with the plastic gard so plastic gard is tourching the skin not the blade causing irratation

What about an Old School Pocket, agreed people might not notice as fast as an normal Watch. But I think when you take it out and look at the Time it has a bit of that Old School Gentleman like feeling

WG is ok if you know absolutely nothing about watches try it a few months. Or as a gift. You will quickly outgrow it long term money better spent on getting a nice piece by looking up a few videos.

I do appreciate when someone compliments my watch. But I wear subdued pieces by brands with strong heritage, so I don’t expect it to stand out on my wrist. My current daily piece is Seiko “Baby” Alpinist in the classic green dial with gold/patina numerals and gilded cathedral hands. I love it, but compared to a fluted bezel Datejust, it’s not going to stand out so much. Ultimately I agree with you: the watch doesn’t make the man, at all.
