Personally, I think Okami is a very under-rated game, considering how awesome it is!!!! :3 And Okamiden is freaking adorable. SO MANY BABY ANIMALS! I am sad that so few people know it exists, and half those people have never played it. Half the people who have played it don't like it, and half of the people that like it don't know the awesome mythology and appreciate the little intricacies of this game.
8:24 I did this boss fight on the bus ride home from school, and when they started doing this dance, the fifteen or so people who were watching all said "awwww..."
Actually, some find animated skeletons pretty awesome. Just how often do you get harassed by something that's obviously supposed to be long dead? I can understand (to an extent) why people find it cliché, but everything has its trope nowadays. FISH OUT OF THE WATER oh god my sides (Hai, half-baked prophet!) I see your point about his battle being unimpressive, but remember he's not an enemy. He's just testing Amaterasu, despite Issun's suspicions.
hey speedster when i clicked on this video i thought what the hell is okami but now i know to put it in words this is a AWESOME game, its looks so awesome that im going to get okami for my birthday.
Okami shall stay as my favorite game of all time. Has my favorite boss battle (Lechku & Nechku) Favorite Boss Theme (Battle of Twin Demons Favorite Final Boss (Yami) Favorite Final BossTheme (Rising Sun) Favorite story, Favorite set of characters, favorite music track (Reset {Thank you Version} Favorite EVERYTHING.
I just beat Okami the other day, and I must say I loved every single second of this game! I can't see why anyone would hate this game. It's just so awesome and has a great story, fun moves, and very epic bosses. Now all I have to do is get my hands on a copy of Okamiden...
Having never played Okami, I'll just sit back and watch this crazyness, and see if I want to get it. I've already asked for enough games for Christmas, so I hafta wait till after then.
Trivia moment! Waka's weapon "Pillow Talk" is also weapon/easter egg in another game made by Clover Studios a.k.a. Platinum Games. Specifically, Bayonetta.
You should check out some of their other songs... Admittedly some can be a bit 'screamo' rock but ones like 'Slow Love Slow' are excellent changes to their normal songs :)
Okay, on the True Orochi, the difference is that there isn't the 100 year imprisonment/being dead part. But for the rest, yeah it IS the EXACT same thing as the last battle, other than more health and more damage.
@#19: Honestly on my list I would put Asteroidean higher merely because of its name. Let me explain. This evil echinoderm is a has a starfish body. The class name for starfish is Asteroidea. And that's the only reason honestly. (And that has been your random starfish trivia nobody asked for)
Spider Queen original name is actually Prostitute Spider. There is difference in the words Geisha, what means "Artist" and Shofu what means "Prostitute", just for the info ^^
I got okami two years ago do to chuggaaconroy doing a lp of the game. and it became my FAVORITE GAME OF ALL TIME. so much that i even got my best to love the shear awesomeness of it
Not all geishas were prostitutes, it always makes me angry whenever people say that. Sure they were entertainers for money, but they were entertainers in that they danced or played instruments. They were also known for seducing rich men into supporting them with money to buy their decorated and often expensive kimonos and hair-ornaments, but that didn't automatically mean that they ended up having sex.
I got yellow tree on time and perfect damage, but only because I played for the millionth time or so (albeit after a few months) Same goes for a lot of other boss battles, actually. I think Crimson Helm is what I improved the most on, haha
Nice to know I'm not the only one who thinks Okami is an awesome series Asteroidean: Springfield born water Pokemon Mizuchi: HOLY CRAP! That dragon has a personality?!?!? Witch Queen: Bipolar chain smoking hag True Orochi: You will hate time travel after this guy... Master Aruna: Self absorbed bloated jackass Crimson helm: Flaming cow zombie thing Spider Queen: Gohma rip-off whom takes it in the ass Blight: Albert Wesker's life long career goal
In my opinion, the twin demons, Nechku and Lechku, are a pretty interesting mystery. They are seemingly giant robotic owls possessed by demons. The original legend is what gets me. Yep, Okami is based off of a real Japanese legend. In the legend, they are sort of symbols, representing the flow of time and that everything must at one point, meet its end. Their names are "Kinkaku" and "Ginkaku", kin being Japanese for gold, and gin, silver. "One counts time", "Gears of the Moon"...
Kagu and Kuni are the only companions I found useful in okamiden, mainly because the other 2s attacks wander off and trail away and don't have any range to them, Kunis sword makes you into a literal bullet hell for mellee attacks, and Kagus homing attacks allow for some good enjoyment of overpowering your enemies.
Actually , Geisha were a form of server and traditional entertainment. During WW2 though, some women prostituted themselves to the american soldiers while imitating the Geisha clothing. They became known as Geisha girls later and some still exist. The more you know.
Hey, so...I have a question about the boss of Blight. Despite seeing your Okami video for multiple times, with the first one being a long while ago, I only now realized that Blight is actually a microscopic entity (I never played the game myself, but I want to make a lego moc of Blight). So, I've been wondering- When you fight Blight for the second time aboard the Ark of Yamato, are you fighting him in a microscopic arena, just like before, or is the fight happening in a regular sized arena, and Blight is simply in a full human size now? I'm asking this because, even though I saw that The Lucky Mallet isn't being used before you start the second Blight fight on The Yamato, I noticed that the boss arena aboard that ark contain similar features to the original arenas where you fought the bosses of the game for the first time, like spider webs from the arena of The Spider Queen. So, if you can, I'd like to hear your opinion on whether or not do you think that the Blight on board The Yamato is also a microscopic entity, or if it's a full human size entity? Thanks.
speedy, by your logic, counting Waka and Oki as bosses, means that Nagi should be somewhere on this list, but he isn't! so i'd just like to know where you would rank him as?
19. Underwater levels SUCK. 18. Tediouslooking. 17. Still alive! 16. SAME THING. SAME THING. That felt better. 15. What is that thing? But cute victory! 14. COWS. 13. Disturrrbing. 12. SWORDS. 11. FISHIES! 10. I guess I like her. 9. No him in MVC3? 8. HORRAY FOR THEATERS!
What's the name of the music that plays after Ninetails murders the queen, and when Amateratsu & Issun are heading to Orochi's lair (100 years in the past)?
The spider queen wasn't known as the geisha spider in japan, she was known as the prostitute spider. And no, they are NOT the same thing. Geishas were paid to entertain people, through dancing, playing music, storytelling, and sometimes sexually arousing their clients, but never actually doing it with them (sometimes they would do it if they wanted to, but never for money, just 'coz they wanted to). But since they were entertainers, madworld made a suggestive joke about it.
