I did this exact same thing as this video with one 3.7 li ion and forgot it and fell asleep. I was woke up to what's equal to a m80 blowing up 5 ft from me. It caught my dresser and wall on fire and was hard to put out. I was panicking trust! Never again 😂

if you're into battery lifespan saving, just stop charging it before it reaches 100%. Or, if you go to 100%, unplug it soon after it reaches that level. Or if you're not into waking up at night, get a Chargie dongle and its app to do it automatically for a few bucks.

@@ramprakash8420 I don't recommend the first method because it is dangerous, he is charging the battery with a phone charger that outputs 5 V but the charging voltage for li-ion batteries should be 4.2v. the second method is the best but he is using the TP 4056 module designed to charge only one battery at a time so i don't recomment using a 3 cell battery holder in this case unless you have a module that can supply 4.2v and around 3amps

By charging as 1 st method is very bad for the battery. It will be overcharged so the battery life goes down. Another thing is that there is no temperature protection so the battery may be highly damaged. even maybe exploded.

Charging a 4.2V li-ion cell with a 5V USB power supply is a stunningly stupid thing to do. You can easily cause a cell to catch fire or explode. How the hell can you possibly recommend this as a method for charging?

I saw many videos with similar methods. You have to know that LI-Ion batts are extremly dangerious if you do not control the voltage max of 4.1-4.2 V. You must have automatic cut off or to be near the batt all the time and make self control. Also, have to control the temperature. If the battery is warm or hot it is for recycle bin. Fire and explosion is not so rare for LI-Ion. Batts can not last forever. Some laptop batts are over 10 years old.

Charging a li ion battery is a complicated process. But generally speaking you'll need a 4.20v power source. It needs to be EXACT 4.20v. Higher than that you might burn your house down. In the 1st method he showed, he used an USB connected to a phone charger. Which is clearly rated at 5v. The battery might explode. Be careful for what you do. Also you need to measure the current throughout the charging process to make sure that you are not overcharging the battery

I charged a battery in a disposable vape using that exact method, except didn't use solder. Just straight up broke a phone charger and taped the wires on. It's stupid, but I was fiending for some nicotine. Didn't get even slightly warm to the touch as I only charged for 5 mins. It worked fine but I won't be doing it again 🤣

Okay. "UPS" is just a uninterruptable power supply. It is basically used to avoid the peaks and valleys of voltage from the power company as well as a temporary power source to give you just enough time to log off and save during a power outage. It's a great device that could potentially save butt loads of work and allow sensitive programs to close properly. It's pretty much a isolation transformer and either battery or capacitor bank to maintain a constant even tempered voltage. (I'm just guessing here I never took one apart.) But if you are talking about an AC ups that you plug your computer into. Sure why not. If you are talking about some DC source UPS I'm not yet familiar with. Providing the right charge voltage. Sure why not again. UPS pretty much just means good source of power with constant voltage that stays constant regardless of it's input power.

In the second method you although you are using a lithium ion charging module but , you are using 5 volt 2Amp charger to charge the battery. Maximum charging current for this type of module is 1Ampere.

There is a buck converter in mobile circuit board. The converter converts the voltage 5 volt to 4.2 volt. On this video tutorial, there is no back converters used for battery. For that it is harmful for battery
