after laughter by paramore is also my favorite album of the year &definitely made my list! i enjoyed everything about it---the sound/beats, lyrics...all incredible.
Hi Jamie, i understand and agree as to why you have omitted Brand New from you list, but out of interest had the abuse allegations against Jesse not surface where would Brand New have placed?
I opened this video wondering specifically where Brand New would be on the list and I’m gutted to see it not make it as well as another favorite of mine in Boston manor
Hi jamie, i saw a real lack of pop punk make this list, especially as bands such as roam and wstr dropping in my opinion quality albums this year. However do you think their is a lack of creativity and versatility in pop punk scene at the moment with all new albums such as shapeshifter and vacation sounding similar to prior albums. And do you think there are new avenues pop punk can be taken to make killer albums or has it hit a block for how far the music can be taken leaving it at its familiar medicore state it is at the moment? Plus sick content as always can't wait to see more in the new year
Hey Luke! I definitely feel like pop-punk is the genre that's stagnated the most, too many bands that sound exactly the same. I'd point to artists like Boston Manor from last year, and Can't Swim, Free Throw, Sorority Noise, Decade, The Menzingers and definitely Paramore from this year who've all come from or been influenced by the pop-punk mould, but have taken it in completely different directions.
