@WatchMojo I love that he fit into Neo-Gotham like a glove, reuniting with his favorite nemesis. I would've also loved to see the look on Harley's face if she saw Mr. J after all those years. 🎉
A shame we don’t have a decent sequel to it yet. The Heavy Metal 2000 movie was okay, but it doesn’t measure up to the anthology style and rock song assembly soundtracks of the first.
My then eleven year old cousin wanted to see "Sausage Party" when it initially came out, but she was denied, due to my aunt and uncle having watched it in advance. She's now 19, and has seen it, and thinks it's hilarious, especially THAT infamous scene.
I remember hearing that my older cousin and his pals snuck into the "South Park" movie when they were about 13-14, and they reported that it was a blast.
Here are a few honourable mentions: 9 (2009) The House (2022) The Spine of the Night (2021) Mad God (2021) Beavis And Butt-Head Do America (1996) Fantastic Planet (1973)
Heavy Metal one of the best adult animated movies ever! I watched it on El Rey Network and fell in love with it from that moment forward. Definitely not for kids but highly recommended.
Akira, Fritz The Cat, Heavy Metal, South Park: Bigger, Longer And Uncut, Beavis And Butthead: Do America, Bebe's Kids, Sausage Party And The Haunted World Of El Superbeasto These Are The Lists Of Adult-Themed Animated Movies That Comes To Mind.
i was a freshman in high school when I bought the vhs English dub of akira after first seeing it on the sci fi channel in the late 90s. They used to run japanese anime on Saturday mornings. Where i saw akira, vampire hunter d and ninja scroll
@@jimb.7523 "I am Cornholio! I need piccata for my bunghole!" "You'll have to wait your turn, sir." "Are you threatening me?! My bunghole will not wait!"
Fire and Ice (1983) I've seen this described as 'R rated He-Man' and I can't argue with that. My dad put this on for us one weekend when he had custody of us girls, we went back to our mom's rattled and about 5yrs older inside hahaha!
Thank you for the update, WatchMojo..!! 16:15 The saddest anime I have ever watched. The anime is based on a book by Akiyuki Nosaka, and the book was based on a true story. During the war, Akiyuki Nosaka's sister Keiko died of malnutrition and when I learned what was portrayed on the anime was based on a factual event -- that broke my heart. 😭

I was surprised "Wizards" wasn't here with all the real Holocaust footage added to the animated film. It was used in the background to horrify and demoralize the elf soldiers who had never seen such brutality.
@@gamerbear84 I do agree "Fritz the Cat" was quite a bit more... uh... yeah. If you've seen it you know. If you haven't seen it I wouldn't recommend it.
148: The forgotten Drawn Together the Movie. That came out in the same year of MegaMind, Tangled and Despicable Me. It’s incredibly raunchy since it’s debut of three seasons
Thank you for including "American Pop" and "Fritz the Cat (😊)." I was like 'If they're not gonna include at least _one_ Ralph Bakshi film here, Imma RIOT!'
@@emiliobello2538 but when they did the English dub, they hired actors and gave them a translated script. So wouldn't it become a scripted work at that point?
What was the animated movie about the depressed New York couple who were happy to be depressed? They just sat around their apartment content to live a life without any excitement. They were based on a real New York couple. It came out probably in the early 00's.
I didn't watch them when I was young but when I was old enough. I did not like Fritz The Cat, but my favorite adult animated films are Heavy Metal, American Pop, Wizards 1977, Fire And Ice 1983, Watership Down, The Plague Dogs And Princess Mononoke
I watched Heavy Metal when I was about 10: yrs old and a few yrs later saw Ghost in the shell, Akira...you need to do a part two because you didn't include Ninja Scroll or fist of the North Star, the Goblin Slayer movie, Cool world, bebe kids, and i'm sure there are plenty more you could dig up.
Funny enough, I watched the South Park movie as a kid, I think I was around 12 years old or so. I was already familiar with the show, so in a way I was unfazed at what the movie could throw, but I learned to appreciate it more as a teen after getting more of the jokes. As an adult, I love it even more after realizing how good of a musical it is compared to a lot of other movies. It baffles me how musically talented Matt and Trey are.
I watched half of these as a kid, especially the anime ones and just thought they were good. I didn’t understand why most other cartoons didn’t have as good of story lol.
Gonna throw out Don Hertzfield's It's Such a Beautiful Day. Although released as 3 chapters, the final film is one my absolute favorites along w Perseopolis , The Triplets of Belleville, Loving Vincent and Redline.
152: A long time ago, my Uncle John, Aunt Diane and cousin EJ took Deacon, Ozzy and Harley to see a movie but they went into the wrong theater. From the moment animated boobs popped out, Deacon’s face was on the floor. Uncle John covered his eyes and they got into the right theater
When my husband and i saw sausage party there was a couple with a young kid there. We were wondering who the heck would bring a kid to this right off the start. They ended up leaving near the very end at the start of the most mature part. We were thinking why it took so long to do that.
Only uncultured idiots associate animation with children… there was tons of none children safe animation for decades now…. There is no excuse in this day and age for people to think this… especially as anime is widely known of and a ton of anime is not kid safe…
I'm so fascinated how Akira always tops these lists. At the time it might've been groundbreaking, but it's fairly boring and a little underwhelming to today's standards. I guess you get less dislikes for choosing a classic.
Where's Boy and the Heron? That was the first PG-13 animated film to win the Oscar for Best Animated Feature. Also, Sausage Party is a satire on not just religion, but loads of other communities
147: Uh, what about Fritz the Cat the Movie? Unlike other movies, it’s rated X and not in a good way. Way before Sausage Party, this is a big no for the kids
@@CandiCohen I had to constantly argue with my dad about how I liked the Felix the Cat Movie, and he always said I would have been in so much trouble if he had caught me, considering how much violence, sex, and nudity was in it, and that's when I had to fight him about him forgetting the movie he was thinking about was Fritz. Felix was a kids cartoon with a magic bag. Fritz had cat Hitler with 1 ball trying to have sex with the main character(there were 2 Fritz movies and I confuse them even though they might as well be part 1 and part 2)
@@Laarye Heck, the only show that my parents wouldn't let me watch was Jerry Springer. I was allowed to watch shows like Ren and Stimpy and Beavis and Butt-Head, for crying out loud.
What's very infamous about Adult movies to me are graphic blood and gore scenes. I watched a live action movie Thanksgiving (It's not animated.) which it's my very first horror movie, and I get very uncomfortable with graphic scenes that might give me a seizure. It depends where the blade hits on a part of the body. Thanksgiving is a horror movie, and most horror movies are not suitable for children. My dad warned me about Sausage Party, and he told me it was gory. I haven't seen it, and I probably won't be able to. Sausage Party has a series now. If I weren't so sensitive to blood and gore, I would've enjoyed Sausage Party, because I heard it was funny.
Wow 15:14 never thought I’d hear “Veggie tales” in this video. Come to think of it, @watchmojo how about a top 10 of faith based films or TV series. There’s a good number of them.
"InterStella 5555: the 5tory of the 5ecret 5tar 5ysrem." Leiji Matsumoto's magnum opus, telling an entire amazing story while using the music from Daft Punk's "Discovery" album as the narrative. It is pure genius.
_South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut_ and _Sausage Party_ are the types of movies you’ll want to check the rating before purchasing from a movie store or checking out from your local iibrary. It’s easy, m’kay?
The Animatrix and The Plague Dogs and When the Wind Blows and Heavy Metal and Ghost In The Shell and American Pop and I Lost My Body and Perfect Blue and Sausage Party and Grave Of The Fireflies and Akira watched as a youngster on TV or on Hulu or on the DVDs
That is pretty dang evil. Having to serve such a cruel leader and to be subjected to a horrific experiment and still have to serve but as a monster. Great video!
Bandi The Squirrel isn't violent per se but isn't a happy story as most of the supporting characters are malevolent predators with an ambiguous ending.
Really getting sick of the 4 hour commercials before RU-vid plays the video, whether you have an adblocker or not. I hope the advertisers realize wasting my time with these ads makes me less likely to buy their product not more.
