@matt Lol okay, no need to rain on people's parades. Sure, have your opinion but music isn't meant to be so constricted to the present... We literally live an in age where you can look up super old songs that's the parents of the kids these days weren't even alive for... You're narrow-minded. Music is to be all-consumed. Enjoy this era.

29 (30 in May) and I agree! I wasn't really cognizant around this time but 90's music has a way of being like a time machine and taking me back to simpler times (I'm also recently experiencing this with 00's music too).

@matt You sound like your past was incredibly rubbish or you never lived through the 90s for you to know how good it was. A lot of people here had the best of memories in the 90s (me included) and most times we’d love to relive those moments through music, movies, games and other mediums. For some reason when my little sister was about 5-6 years old she was obsessed with 'No Rain'- she was way too young to understand it was a more sad/somber song but she just thought it was catchy so she'd get all excited whenever it came on. When I've asked her if she remembers how much she loved it now she has no clue what I'm talking about but the song has a spot in my heart having such a funny memory from when she was little 😂

The only decade better than the '80s was the '90s. I was old enough to drink and party it up all night. "Jump" and "Whoomp There It Is" were unifying forces at the club, where everybody moved as one organism. One tune that could have made this list was "James Brown is Dead," which was about as played to death at the dance clubs as "What's Going On?" was at grunge bars.

@Jim Atkins Yeah, same here. Could have replaced one of the songs on the list with this. Marc Cohn's version of the song, which is the original, is absolutely awesome, but I also love Cher's version of the song. However, Cher is not a one-hit wonder, so her version wouldn't count.

Return of the mack holds up so well I didn't even know it was a nineties song. I was born in 1998, so I grew up 2000's. I was genuinely surprised to see a song I thought came out like 2007 or something to be a nineties song instead

@@gemmalow6515 Interesting story. I was born in 1997 and I also thought that some songs were from the 2000s, when they clearly weren't. For example, I always thought that Vaya Con Dios's "Puerto Rico" song was from the 2000s, but in reality, I found out that it was from 1987, in fact.

The weird thing about Snow and "Informer" is that he actually was involved with a gang while living in a neighborhood with a huge Jamaican population and actually spent time in prison for stabbing two guys in a bar fight because some other guy snitched on him. I never would have guessed that whitebread looking dude had some legitimate street cred.
