“The Princess Bride” is no doubt my favorite movie... i showed it to my mom last month for the first time. She enjoyed it and she asked me why I love it so much, and I told her “all I know that it’s the only movie that makes me instantly happy.” I even have “As you wish” tattooed on my wrist as a sign of motivation. ♥️

My number one "feel good" movie will always be The Lord of the Rings trilogy. Every time i finish watching it there is a sense of greatness, happiness and epic accomplishment.

I first saw "It's a Wonderful Life" when I was nine and I was forced to watch it by my parents. Did not want to see it. How wrong I was. By the end of the film, I knew it was one of the most amazing films I'd had ever seen. Still feel that way more than 30 years later. One of the best movies of all time. Well deserved it got the top spot. “Strange, isn’t it? Each man’s life touches so many other lives. When he isn’t around he leaves an awful hole, doesn’t he?”

My favourite feel good movies: Alladin, The Princess Bride, School of Rock, Singin in the rain, Zootopia, Shakespeare in Love, Harry Potter.

The Shawshank Redemption has a feel-good ending imo. La La Land (for the most part) is a feel-good movie as well, isn't it?

Little miss sunshine is the most realistic movie I've ever seen, especially when the son finds out he can't become a pilot and starts scream crying it's heart wrenching

I kinda thought Ferris buellers day off would be on this list

The Secret life of Walter Mitty should be on the top 10 of this list.

But if we're going to talk about animated feel good movies, Meet The Robinsons has got to be one of my favorites. Such a good movie.

Man, a lot of these films I grew up with as a kid of the 90s and it brought a smile and nostalgic feeling back. Cool Running is definitely one of the films I watched a lot on tv. RiP to John Candy - he's a great actor who left far too early. Top spot is hard to compete for it.

Where is The Shawshank Redemptions? I know the movie can be depressing most of the time, but has a perfect ending.

I think Forest Gum is actually a very complex mixture of feel good and feel bad. Throughout the entire movie,it was kinda depressive all along, the way Jenny's life got ruined forever, the way Forest kept perusing Jenny all his life but failing all the time, Forest's military experience, etc. But in the end,when all the viewers' wish came true, Jenny and Forest finally got together and she finally found happiness and contentment in those final days of her life, it was kinda cheerful. But then again, the movie ended with Jenny's death. Forest was left all alone with their son. I'm not sure how I felt at that point, whether happy or sad. I think I kinda felt both at same time then, after all Forest did get to have his life-long dream girl for as long as she lived, which was exactly what everyone watching would have wanted to see, and also in those last few years of her life, Jenny had no pain or misery anymore. So overall it was a very complex mixture of cheering up and breaking down.

The peanut butter falcon is also good.. actually loved it

one of my all-time favorite feel good movies is The Parent Trap (1998).

Shawshank redemption? Pursuit of happiness? A good will Hunting? Blind side? Casablanca? Green mile? One flew over the cuckoo's nest? Rocky? What about these movies, aren't they good?

I'd include "Midnight in Paris" and "Almost Famous".

Might just be me but I thought the 1998 version of the parent trap was a pretty good “feel good” movie

I personally wish they had "A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood" and "The Peanut Butter Falcon" and "Bumblebee".

I'd include 'Steel Magnolias' and 'Parenthood' (1989). I absolutely adore the movie 'Amélie' and I'm so happy it was on the list. You definitely can't forget the classics like 'Mary Poppins' and 'Sound of Music.'

The thing with 'feel good movies' is that their success is totally depending on YOUR way of feeling things. There are many great FGM. One of my favorite is, like Princess Bride, a breaking of the rules of 'fairytale stories' : Stardust. As most RomCom are supposed to be FGM, I'd take 10 Things I Hate About You and, as we're talking Heath Ledger, I'll put A Knight's Tale in this list. Also, Brits are SO good at FGM and since Live Actually is already here, I love the little known gem Still Crazy.

Forrest Gump may be feel good but that ending hits hard. Tom Hanks’ only lines could have been that final monologue and he would have still won the Oscar.

Surprisingly, I have seen 11 out of 20 and 3 of the honorable mentions. My favorite is Field of Dreams and I am looking forward to checking out Love, Actually. I think I will also revisit some of those I have seen and enjoy them all over again!

Cool runnings- "I'm a bad mother, who dont take no crap from nobody!" That whole bar scene is still one of my top 3 faves!! Mrs. Doubtfire- classic!! Forrest Gump- I still get pissed at Jenny everytime I watch it!!!

The 1990s were the best time for feel good movies

This is an old one, but whenever my sister needs a pick me up, she watches the musical "Gigi". The sets and costumes are gorgeous, and the entire cast seems like they're having a wonderful time.

Paddington is so underrated. I remember watching it in movie theatre back in 2015. I got so obsessed that I bought the dvd later on and rewatched it 500 times

Forrest Gump, a feel good movie ? It's one of the saddest masterpiece I've seen.

“What’s So Bad About Feeling Good” (1968) is beyond brilliant. Mary Tyler Moore and George Peppard. Great movie-can’t find it anywhere to stream, eBay just has an occasional old VHS for a high price. Perfect feel good film!!

“The best years of our lives” is another great one

Life is Beautiful was one of the movies I could only watch once - like Europa Europa and maybe even Sophie's Choice. Such good movies but so heartwrenching

If you really think about Forrest gump, it's not a feel good movie, it really sad and raises some unanswerable questions, with some heartwarming scenes, but it's a really great movie, one of the best I've watched

40 Year Old Virgin could make it. You’re laughing the whole time and it did have a happy ending... literally. Everyone at the end was dancing and singing.

The Goonies, Home Alone and The Avengers are my feel good movies!

mrs doubtfire is honestly one of the funniest movies ever made! I could watch it over and over again and never get sick of it either! I'm so glad it's on Disney+ here in Australia too so that I can watch it whenever I want to.

It always hurts me a little seeing how underrated Uptown Girls with Brittany Murphy is, it’s a movie that never fails to get me in the feels and to appreciate being alive

Agree with most (maybe not the order). But I would rank “Big,” or “Patch Adams,” before some of them. Also, “Second Hand Lions” should be in the top 10 somewhere. Highly overlooked, and underrated movie. You cannot walk away from that movie without feeling good!

Oh Man "It's a Wonderful Life". It's old and that can be a huge barrier for people to watch something in that old film quality. But the story and ideals of it hold up so well. You forget that soooooo many other movies reference it or have been influenced by it. To watch to original idea in all it's purity is a must when you want to dive into a feel good movie or just need a pick me up.

Green Book(2018), Driving Miss Daisy(1989), The Shawshank Redemption (1994) and Theory of Everything (2014) deserve at least an honourable mention...

Its sad to realise that these kind of good to feel movies are not made anymore nowadays...but i must say sandlot and love actually are one of the unforgetable movies to date...loved all though
