Laffayette: *Can't say anarchy correctly* Also Laffayette: *Raps 6.3 words per second in fast verses while keeping his accent and jumping and dancing and becoming the fastest rapper on Brodway*
Brain: Please you have been up for almost 24 hours go to bed MsMojo: posts video about Hamilton Me: *LORD SHOW ME HOW TO SAY NO TO THIS, I CAN'T SAY NO TO THIS*
I’m convinced that Eliza’s last gasp at the end is her breaking the fourth wall, seeing the audience and realizing his story will be told because of her.
The best song: DADDY DADDY LOOK MY NAME IS PHILLIP AND I'M A POET I WROTE THIS SONG JUST TO SHOW IT AND I JUST TURNED NINE YOU CAN WRITE RHYMES BUT YOU CAN'T WRITE MINE (WHAT?)
I PRACTICE FRENCH AND PLAY PIANO WITH MY MOTHER (UH-HUH!) I HAVE A SISTER BUT I WANT A LITTLE BROTHER (OKAY!) MY DADDY'S TRYING TO START AMERICA'S BANK UN, DEUX TROIS QUATRE CINQ! (BRAVO!)
When they were doing the honorable mentions and then said now for the top pick I immediately thought that ten duel commandments was going to take it but that fact it wasn't even mentioned is driving me crazy
I know right! My mom catches me going "Da, da, da, da, ba, da, da, daiya, dum". Then, she asks me where that's from. So, I said "It's from Hamilton" and I showed her the section of the show on Disney+. she was laughing until she cried.
Totalmente de acuerdo. Me recordó a mi ex tóxico que decía que no lograría nada por mí misma y que él era lo mejor que me iba a pasar en la vida. Muy King George style jjj
@@peggyknecht5551 Jonathan Goff is so wonderful! I love how he continually rakes the audience with that glassy, insane stare. How does he keep from blinking so long? I hope he doesn't wear contacts, or he'd be in severe discomfort by the final chorus. It's a hilarious song, with all its built-in ironies and flying spittle.
@@haplessasshole9615 They called the spittle "Groff Sauce". LOL!! The glassy stare killed me. I don't know how he could sing that song without cracking up.
nah i have about 7-11 other songs that i prefer and now i will tell u them even tho u didnt ask. dear theodosia one more time hurricane yorktown cabinet battle 1 alexander hamilton (still iffy on this one) the room where it happened take a break (kinda i think theyre even) non-stop your obediant servant say no to this basically even tho satisfied is a 9/10 song i still think that there are much better songs. and this says a lot about the hamilton musical. my like 11th favorite sone is a 9/10 damn lin did good. also this was all my opinion so please dont yell at me or some shit goodbye

Fun fact about dear theodosia: during the part where lin sings leslie had nothing to do on stage so he decided to bow his head down and pray for his kid even though he didn't have any kids yet, by the end of his run as burr he had said about 500 prayers to a kid he didn't have but always had faith that one day he will
Honestly, I think it should be #1 because SGN featured this song and it sparked a lot of interest in the play for people that never heard of it (myself included)
actually tho because whenever i listen to that song the passion the vocals it is easily in my top 10 also i feel like alexander hamilton is better than arron burr sir but whatever
it’s giving “the goal was to write a total of 25 essays the work divided evenly among the three men. in the end, the wrote 85 essays in the span of six months.”
No one: Not a soul: Not even the random flower on Angelica: Laurence at the wedding already drunk: ALL RIGHT ALL RIGHT THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUTTTT!!!!
@@samuelfiedel8480 Angelica: My father has no sons so I am the one who has to social climb for one. Her three other brothers: Are we a joke to you? Lin: Actually yes.
Fun fact (sad fact): Theodosia got lost at sea at the age of 29. Her body was never found and Aaron burr had to deal of the lost of his wife and daughter
As much as I loved Lin and Pippa can I just say that Leslie Odom Jr carried the show with so much passion?! Aaron Burr was such a complex character, going from a mentor to adversary.
I don't really see any similarities between Burr and Draco though. Draco was a spoiled brat at the beginning whereas Burr was orphaned when he was two years old. Burr doesn't really insult anyone or look down upon any one. He instead keeps all his thoughts to himself whereas Draco is the exact opposite.
@@eccentrichorse11 That's very true, and if anything, Burr was more kind and calm than Alexander, which is obviously not like Draco and Harry. I guess its more of the social/class differences in their first few meetings.
it should be "top 46 hamilton songs" but either way it was good Edit How TF did this get so much likes and replies. TY Edit2: the Reynolds pamphlet deserves better
I love the Reynolds Pamphlet because the way Jefferson says “never gonna be president now” kind of sounds like a little kid teasing someone like “haha you’re in trouble”. It brings me joy.
Leslie Odom Jr. is a triple threat. He is a superlative actor, a wonderful dancer, and his singing voice is beautiful. Not to mention he can rap amazingly, too!
Every number is arguably brilliant, but this one culminates Manuel's genius. The end is layered with 5 separate songs on top of each other. With that and 96,000 from Heights, it's almost a signature of his and displays the immense talents of his cast.

The best part from the entire musical in my opinion is “ “Death doesn't discriminate Between the sinners and the saints, it takes and it takes and it takes History obliterates, in every picture it paints It paints me and all my mistakes When Alexander aimed at the sky He may have been the first one to die But I'm the one who paid for it I survived, but I paid for it Now I'm the villain in your history I was too young and blind to see I should've known I should've known the world was wide enough for both Hamilton and me The world was wide enough for both Hamilton and me.”
Ikr! Did you know Maria was forced into it because she had an abusive relationship with her husband. He said to her, "If you manage to have an affair with Hamilton, I will divorce you." So don't blame Maria too much because she was being abused by her husband and she had to. Remember in say no to this? "I DIDNT KNOW ANY BETTER!!" Lol if you took the time to read this I appreciate your patience.
Can we talk about how NEITHER “The Ten Duel Commandments” nor “Take a Break” even MADE this list?! Despite containing the most foreshadowing AND the most intricate musical structure?
2009, Lin - "It's a musical about Alexander Hamilton..." *Audience laughs* 2016 Tony Awards - "Every award goes to the cast of the groundbreaking musical "Hamilton"! It's the genius of Lin-Manuel Miranda, y'all!!!
The fact that they don't mention : - the world was wide enough - take a break - the Reynolds pamphlet - ten duel commandments - a winter's ball - right hand man -hurricane Makes me upset (I also believe that "who lives, who dies, who tells your story" should've been higher up on the list)
I never got to see any clip of Wait for It (even bootleg) before Leslie Odom Jr won the Tony. But that recording alone convinced me that he deserved that Tony.
My top 20: 1) You'll be back 2) You'll be back 3) You'll be back 4) You'll be back 5) You'll be back 6) You'll be back 7) You'll be back 8) You'll be back 9) You'll be back 10) You'll be back 11) You'll be back 12) You'll be back 13) You'll be back 14) You'll be back 15) You'll be back 16) You'll be back 17) You'll be back 18) You'll be back 19) You'll be back 20) You'll be back
Act 1 of Hamilton: an epic tale of revolution and how the people fighting try to live fast and secure their legacy, because they might not see tomorrow. Act 2 of Hamilton: a political drama about the foundation of America’s constitution, the behind the scenes scheming of the politicians, how their ambition ate away at their souls and WHAT THE FUCK HAMILTON!
Are we gonna ignore how The 10 Duel Commandments is left off? That song had action, great choreography, foreshadows Philip's and Hamiltons deaths, and is generally funny.
It also has a) a TON of rap influence (especially “the Ten Crack Commandments”) AND b) a TON of music theory scaffolding. The whole melodic line is set up under painstaking Baroque counterpoint rules. It at least deserved to be on the honorable mentions list for how masterfully it weaves the main musical style of hip-hop with a style the real Hamilton could have recognized. The theme also repeats in Philip’s lines during “Take a Break,” AND WTF THAT SONG ISN’T ON THE LIST EITHER
4:26 not so fun fact: Philippa lost a family member shortly before the show and was actually crying. Lin asked her if she was ok while walking off stage. True castmate right there.
I like the room where it happened because it shows that Aaron Burr is lusting for what Hamilton haves, power. It’s also where we portray Aaron as the “villain”
He's not lusting for what he has, he's calling out the fact that these decisions were made essentially in secret, which isn't ethical since everything needs to be voted on by Congress.
Lindsey Cassella It was a meme I found. Someone defined Satisfied as a “toast to the groom”, and they defined Congratulations as a “roast to the groom”, since he’d published the Reynolds pamphlet and ruined his family’s life.
We know Hercules Mulligan politicized Alexander Hamilton's ideas, but who politicized Mulligan? I mean, people aren't exactly born thinking, "Right. It's time for a revolution." Something has to _happen_ to them before they get to that stage.
Satisfied and burn and my favourite but I also like to listen to the songs that didn't make the final cut like first burn and congratulations because I really enjoy them.
@@charlotte8765 True that is why I love the song. Angelica rips into him highlighting it is his own fault. My favourite line is when she says that " Eliza Is the best thing in our lives" She really shows the love for her sister. I do wish the full song made it in.
Fun fact: I'm one of the performances of 'Its Quiet Uptown', when Phillipa takes Lin's hand, Lin soft put his head down and whispers 'are you okay?', 'cause right before the show Phillipa found out one of her family members had passed away and she was actually crying during the song
I've had The Room Where it Happens, Satisfied and Helpless stuck in my head in a continuous loop for the last week..... I love it!! Also Daveed is a King!! I love him
Britany Anderson It’s actually funny that I spent (I don’t even know) how much time trying to decide if I agreed w’ the Tony’s decision to give Odom Best Actor instead of Lin-Manuel, and then over this past week, with the movie continuously on a loop, I started thinking that Daveed’s two parts were really the equivalent of a Best rather than supporting role, and spent the rest of my (spare) time trying to decide if I would just hand the trophy over to Diggs. You know, like metaphorically. (And that’s completely ignoring how much I loved Jonathan Groff’s King in this musical!!
@@prosen8966 agree with you completely, while Odom did a really great job as Burr I could not take my eyes off of Daveed when he was Jefferson. You could tell he was having an absolute blast
I just realised that Burr is the narrator-- he introduces everyone to well, us Introduces Alexander, then preceeds to introduces him to the others, introduces the Schylur sisters, introduces Washington, introduces Jefferson (Then Jefferson introduces Madison) and not only that, he is really the only one that talks in prensent.
I'm pretty sure he serves as a narrator mainly until The Room Where It Happens comes on. That's when he begins to take charge of his own life, and doesn't just watch others live theirs.
Without question, my favourite was A Winter's Ball/Satisfied. That rewind, that performance, the staging, the coordination--just pure talent on display. ESPECIALLY Renee! Her delivery is flawless.
I literally just realized that the famous pose of him on the star replicates him pointing his pistal to the sky to show his fate at the end of this amazing musical
When Alexander shatters in ‘It’s Quiet Uptown’ is absolutely breaks everyone. Just the pure, raw emotion that Lin has in that moment is enough to make anyone weep.
