Sometimes, you have to start at the beginning. Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we’re looking at movies that explored past events within established continuities. What people don't understand is that the mood of The Hobbit original book is much lighter, with a lot less dialogue and serious plot points. It was intended as a story for young people. The lore and situations were intensified and more fully fleshed out for the Lord of the Rings. It's not such a good idea to compare them. Even the source material is very different.

Hard disagree about Hunger Games. While understanding the character of Snow was interesting as well as the world building, I could not get past all the singing. It felt so, so wedged in. Almost as off Rachel’s contract demanded her singing be featured in her roles.

Bumblebee is a reboot of Transformers because if it wasn't continuity wise won't make sense because in the 2007 transformers for a few years (if Transformers:Beginnings DVD is canon) Agent Simmons would have been aware of Bumblebee years later, that plus in Transformers:Rise of the Beasts 8 years later Unicron trying to destroy earth as a giant planet-size robot contradicts Unicron as earth in Transformers the last knight (it also mentions in the last knight that bumblebee came to Earth back in World war II) so it doesn't make sense that bumblebee is a prequel it's just a reboot series.

Rogue one felt/feels like a crazy anomaly by disney. An actual worthy installment. Also nice to see temple of doom not simply knocked as the odball of the OG Indiana jones trilogy. It's hectic, fun, and we actually get a final boss fight

Rogue One is the best Disney made Star Wars movie. It has a solid storyline, unique and interesting characters, and a few laughs. What made it stand out even more was the corridor scene, where Darth Vader shows his full power. It was beautifully done, and so deliciously claustrophobic at the same time. Seeing Revenge of the Sith on here makes my heart sing too, it's the best of the prequels, which I believe are so underrated. I loved Lynda Carter as Wonder Woman in the 1970s show, so seeing the character get her own movie was so exciting, and it did not disappoint. It was so well done, and Gal Gadot was perfect in the role.

I take serious exception to The Good, The Bad and The Ugly taking #1.... and Godzilla Minus One not even being on the list, let alone at the top spot that it rightly deserved. Godzilla Minus One is every bit the prequel that gives depth to the whole of Godzilla's other movies, and brings into the foreground the human tragedy that follows in Godzilla's wake. Remake the list, WatchMojo, and reconsider the outcome of it.

A quite place I feel has run the concept down cause I can’t imagine what more you can do with the concept. Day one for instance didn’t do nothing to make the concept unique or investing cause the last 2 movies didn’t do much to push the concept any further cause I think they have no idea what to do.
