Blackadder crew said that the final scene was filmed in the dark and they've all said it was the most frightening thing they've ever done, when the directors said right lads let's do another take they all went to Rowan Atkinson to say no so him being the nominated spokesperson got on the mic and said "not a chance, we're not doing that again". Beautiful scene, well shot and well handled on such a sombre topic

Also this scene was intended to be at normal speed but it just didn't seem right to them so they slowed it down and created one of the most emotional scenes ever filmed

In a documentary about the making of Blackadder Goes Forth it was revealed that it was actually an engineer assisting with the final cut that had the idea of slowing it down and bleeding into the modern day poppy field. I must have seen it about ten times now and it still brings a lump to my throat.

Prince Andrew's interview DID NOT shock the world. Instead it gave us so much comedic relief to see someone in his role squirming as they struggle to dig themselves out of the hole they dug themselves into.

He didn't die on stage, he was pronounced dead later on arrival at hospital. The heart attack that led to his death was live on tv. I saw it too as a child.

Still remember watching the Susan Boyle thing when it aired, on MSN messenger with my mates, we were all watching, having banter, saw her come out, quietly thinking "Here's another crazy cat lady", then she starts singing and was blown away, then next thing the video goes viral, fastest viewed RU-vid video ever at the time, hit a million views in 24 hours, that was unheard of back then.

I'm surprised you didn't include the end of the Doctor Who episode "The Stolen Earth", with the 10th Doctor David Tennant. To all appearances, he starts to regenerate at the end -- and nobody knew about it. I heard news media were freaked along with the public, since a new Doctor is always announced well in advance of the current one leaving, and nothing had been said.

Fun fact about the Gareth Gates, and Will Young both having solid careers. It was because of this, that the competitions started having insane exclusivity clauses in the contestant application form. You have to sign an agreement that even if you don't win, you are signed to their record label on an exclusive basis for something like 5 years. Which is long enough for any residual 15 minutes of fame from the show to prop up a career.

The worst thing about the Diana Interview at number 1 is that it's since been discovered that Martin Bashir, who was made famous from that interview, used forged bank documents to manipulate Diana into doing the interview by claiming -- falsely -- that members of her own security detail were selling stories about her to the tabloids and she needed to tell her side of the story first. Not only did his editors at the BBC apparently know about and covered it up, but it may have been a factor in Princess Diana's death. She was already feeling paranoid about people giving out stories to the press, but believing she couldn't trust her own security, she fired all of them after this. Without a proper security detail, it was ridiculously easy for the paparazzis to harass her which led to her death in 1997. Her brother Earl Spencer and her son Prince Harry rightfully blame Bashir for having a hand in her death and his career was completely tanked when the allegations were proven true in 2021.

My late dad brought me up on Bottom, Black Adder (I met Rowan Atkinson when I was a little girl, he was lovely!) Freddy Starr, and Tommy Cooper! Used to watch skins way back when I was in school and even tho they hired real teen cast and showed some stuff. That was unfortunately the reality of teens and still is today, it was close to realistic even tho yes they could’ve hired actual adults. Same with shameless, they’re basically both about real things that happen in the UK.

If Prince Andrew had just kept his head down about the whole Epstein affair it would’ve gone away and his image wouldn’t be too badly tarnished. But instead he decided to tell his own side of the story in an interview that was nothing more than a massive car crash. He couldn’t have looked more guilty than if he’d tried and it rocked the monarchy on the same scale as Diana’s interview on Panorama. Can’t sweat because he got an overdose of adrenaline when he was shot at in the Falklands? Never heard that one before, but I bet he’s sweating now.
