I can remember alex higgins playing john virgo in a club game which thankfully was recorded where higgins needed pink and black to win, whilt the shot from baulk close to the green pocket with the cue ball almost in the jaws with pink on the side cushion ,he potted the pink in the black pocket getting position behind the black for a shot in the middle pocket to win, which he potted one handed!! Prior to this he predicted position behind the black and to pot it one handed ,two of the best shots i have ever seen
Imagine the ref calling "Foul and a miss!" at 1:01 far too early (right as the white goes past the red) and Shaun's like "What did you just say??" cause the ref didn't expect the pot on the rebound 😅
I'm a competent left-handed player, but that red to the green pocket that Ronnie potted, and got back for the black, with his left hand puts me to shame 7 days a week.
@@rocketsnooker147 yeah %70 of these shots are no damage. We can't just decide if it is a good shot based on what commenter says . Only 4 or 5 of them has extrelemely nerv recking shots. Many of them are continuation shots for higher breaks...
@@rocketsnooker147 no hate but you are fan of Ronnie, it is clear from your name and videos so i am thinking that you didn't put Shaun's shot higher on the list cause it was against your champ. Again no hate but any snooker fan knows that shot is at least top 5 of all time. You even used it for a starter...
@@twiceisallabout1758no not at all 'as the commentator' said he does no damage if he misses it...yes you can say this is unbelievably clever shot but tbh anyone can get this shot done in first three simple attempts
@@Snookerhq naaah not 'anyone can get this shot done in first three simple attempt'. This is crucible and you are playing against the best snooker player in the world. You can't just say anyone can do this, it is not exhibition or practice game and you can also get many of shots done from this clip in three attempts. You are just simplifying one of the best shot in snooker history with saying 'anyone can do this'. There are at least 10 shot in this clips you can easily encounter any snooker game but you can't come across Shaun's shot in a 4-5 year period...
I’m 50 and grew up a pool player. I haven’t played regularly for years. But knowing that I’ve performed most of these shots on a pool table at different times through my life, makes my head swell 🙃 I enjoyed this vid very much thanks and u got a new sub 👍🏼
Snooker tables are larger than pool tables and the pockets are smaller. If you made these shots in tournaments on a 12 foot table then you should have gone pro
Ah ! Alex Higgins, you see ? He`d knock the wite, sit down down and smoke a cigarrette, drink a pint of Guinness before the object ball was dropped into the pocket.
lol these AI voiceovers are everywhere, and Kinda annoying, like just a message to the creator. listen back to it and add a comma or full stop and output the AI voice again. seriously not too difficult...
I can guarantee you that he wasn't planning on it to land there. Yes, he was planning to hit the yellow but there was a certain amount of luck in that shot of where the yellow and the white ultimately ended up.
I wouldn’t have chosen Robertson’s shot to nothing red - there are plenty more he’s played better than that. In fact I’d not put any shot to nothings or shots played either safety as their primary goal in compilations like this, similarly Trump’s showboating when a frame is already won.
Nice collection. But I think you forgot the best and most difficult. Trump's "ladies and gentlemen, there is only 1 player in the world who can make this red, move the other one, and bring the white back all the way to the black ball, and that player is right now at the table".
Great choice of shots, can't fault anything other than the commentary - can someone at the BBC please tell the likes of Dennis Taylor and Ken Doherty that there are other phrases they can use instead of "What a shot" and "Unbelieveable"! Firstly, "What a shot" is missing an adjective - "What a great shot"? "What a clever shot"? "What a crappy shot"? Secondly, why would someone who has played and watched snooker for 30+ years find any shot "unbelievable"? If a player took a shot and the cue ball cracked open, revealing a baby dinosaur that ran around the table and ate all the other balls, then yes, that would count as "unbelievable", not one that is actually just a very well-played billiards shot. Snooker commentators are by far the most utterly unnecessary people in any broadcast sport, but at least they could try to justify their existence by saying something other than their predictable, incessant, rambling piffle! The main thing is though, I don't let it bother me! 🤐 🙂 😎
