Imagine all the wisdom Mufasa could've pass down if it weren't for Scar. The look of fear and betrayal in his eyes when Scar's about to drop him always crushes my soul. He really never thought it would come to that.
yeah, his death hurt me a lot, unjustly he could not live long enough to continue with his son Simba, whom he loved very much; also Simba and Sarabi were affected by his death caused by Scar: Simba was blamed and exiled from his home, forced to flee as a child; and Sarabi for years believed that both her husband and child son had died
@@BG-be8di Simba’s face when he died was heartbreaking and then he still ran out of the Pride lands and came back to kill his uncle and avenge his father at the same time and take over as king
He could have banished Scar. It would have saved so much trouble. He cares too much about a brother who was nothing but jealous. I have a brother like that, and I know when to be there for him and when to keep boundaries, or he will walk all over me.
I understand that, Elsa didn’t deserve to be locked in her room over an accident like freezing your sister’s head. Her parents should’ve helped her control her powers, not have her hide them
They unintentionally did way more harm than good but in their defense (even though they’re the only human characters in the movie I don’t like) they saw a vision of their daughter getting killed because of her gift. (I’m not getting behind telling a kid they’re cursed.)
As a child, I felt very sorry for Elsa. When Anna insisted that she go out and play, I could imagine her sadness on the other side of the door, forced to tell her: Go away.
@@BG-be8di she (Elsa) should have had her memory wiped of the incident the trolls can clearly do it I’ve never understood why the parents wanted her to carry the guilt around. I know it’s for the plot but what parent wants their child carrying around memories like that?
I felt the parents did the girls a huge disservice. They ruined the sisters relationship and made Elsa afraid of herself so it was harder for her to have the emotional stability needed to control her powers.
I felt so much sorry for Jessie, my favorite intrepide cowgirl, it saddens me so much how long she was forgotten by her owner Emily and after she was donated
Mrs. Jumbo’s incident in particular just breaks my heart because of how realistic it feels. Not only is this how circus animals are treated in real life, but it’s also similar to real life bullying; the victims or those standing up for the victims are the ones who get punished, while the bullies get off Scott free.
It's quite unfair that the bullies go unpunished, while the defender gets the punishment; and I feel so sorry for Mrs Jumbo, she was only protecting his baby Dumbo and they cruelly separated her from him
I know what that’s like. One time in middle school, kids were poking me with safety pins, and my mom came in and stood up for me and practically made the kids cry. Well, guess who got in trouble… My mother got in trouble while the bullies got off Scott free, despite them poking me with safety pins.
Let’s not forget that Nani was on her way to becoming a pro surfer when they lost their parents which she gave up to take care of Lilo. She never let the stress of raising Lilo show and stayed positive!
Mrs Jumbo definitely deserves better; like all parents they are protecting their children from the bullies. But she was separated from Dumbo and from being a ‘mad elephant’
Not to mention he can hear pretty much everything they say about him and has to make his own spot at the table behind the walls just to feel like he's with them
Oh right, he should have been on the list, I feel so sorry for him, really he was unfairly disowned by his family because of his "gift" and he had to hide for years because he didn't want them to do the same to his niece after finding out about the vision.
Same thing for Mirabel. Simply because she wasn’t given a gift, she was mistreated by her grandmother who made her feel like a failure in her own family.
@@karawardlaw4090uh no Tadashi was presumed dead throughout half of the Big Hero 6 franchise so the presumed death was off screen there was no body found at all
Couldn’t agree more. Tadashi should have been even higher! Plot wise, Hiro had already lost his parents. I’m not sure how the source material told the story, but his death was really unnecessary narratively. They at least could have gone a Bat-Girl/Oracle route and gave him a new role in the franchise.
I'm still surprised that Cinderella still was able to stay as nice as she always was. After so many years of psychological abuse. It reminds me of the story crew who worked on The Sword In The Stone. They predicted that if Merlin hadn't found Arthur, Arthur would've grown up to be the bully that Kay was to him.
Quasimodo having to deal with discrimination just because of the way he looked was awful but what's worse is having both his parents taken away from him and grow up never knowing how much they loved him.
Let’s not forget about Bruno Abuela Mirabel. The poor guy wanted to protect her so bad that he isolated himself inside the walls of his own house for 15 years. Meanwhile Mirabel was looked down upon and shunned by most of her family because she didn’t get a gift. Meanwhile, Abuela was forced to deal with the death of her husband while raising triplets. And the pressure being put on Isabella and Luisa and the rest of the family ended up doing a lot of damage.
It makes me sad and really these characters deserved better: Mufasa (not only him, also Simba and Sarabi were affected by his death caused by Scar: Simba was blamed and exiled from his home, forced to flee as a child; and Sarabi for years believed that both her husband and child son had died, and also saw the ruin of her home); Cinderella (she suffered a lot since young under the mistreat by her stepmother); Hector (I can't imagine how many years Hector waited hopefully to cross the bridge and see his daughter, not knowing his family hated him, believing he abandoned them by never returning); Jessie (It saddens me so much how long she was forgotten by her owner Emiilly and when she was reunited, she was donated) ; Mrs Jumbo (It hurt me, she was only protecting his baby Dumbo and they cruelly separated her believing she was wild and mad); Rapunzel; Elsa and Anna; Marlin; Nick Wilde; BingBong and Ray
Honestly, I would put Cassandra on this list. Being the daughter of Mother Gothel wasn’t easy for her. She loved her mom when she was little but when Gothel went out and kidnapped the princess as a baby, she abandoned her daughter. Heartbroken, the Captain of the Guard became a father figure to Cassandra
So much emotion and sadness for every one of these characters. Even in the face of diversity, loss, bullying, abuse, manipulation and lies they, in the end or for the most part still manage to have such good kind hearts and positive outlooks.
This might sound crazy, but for me personally, Nuka from Lion King 2 is the character who deserves better. He just wanted his mother to love him, and he died as soon as he got her attention.
I agree. Kovu deserves better, too. He was forced by his mother to help with her plot. He didn't understand why though. He was innocent and truly cared about Kiara. But because of who his mother was, Simba was unjustly biased against him
yeah, I am so sorry, also for Kovu because since he was a child he was trained to be a killer and have a passion for evil for Zira and he did not choose this; the same with Nuka, he just wanted his mother's attention and after that he died soon.
No Bruno from "Encanto"? He was given a gift that immediately seen as potentially bad, was feared and shunned by not only the townspeople but by members of his own family because of said gift, ostracized himself the family he loved in order to protect his niece, and still remained the sweet, quirky man who never held a grudge against anyone. Definitely a favorite of mine.
Flik in A Bug’s Life. He was constantly berated by the rest of the ants for trying to make things easier, and for being the only ant to not easily give in to Hopper’s bullying, nor to insist on remaining primitive. It’s especially sad to see him exiled over his circus bugs mistake when the other ants insist on groveling to Hopper. I can also mention the circus bugs, because of their greedy narrow-minded employer.
It always breaks my heart when I think of the ants cheering as Flik leaves and he doesn't realize they're happy he's leaving, not expecting him to get help.
Jessie’s story and Hectors are the ones that make me emotional the most because they did not really deserve those misfortunes that happened to them and they deserve to be happy but thankfully enough they get there happily ever afters by the end of the movie 😊❤️❤️
yeah, it moves me that they both got their happy ending in the end, Jessie along with Andy's toys got a new family, and Hector after many years was able to reunite with his daughter Coco, let the world know the truth that he was the true composer and finally be remembered by his family
Not trying to be mean but it’s a little deeper than that. She isolates herself because she doesn’t want to hurt Anna again (she had the memory burned into her mind). And I’m sure the king and queen ( not defending them) didn’t want their daughter getting hurt like in the vision. Which is why I think her power was kept secret from everybody.
The Character of “Evangeline” was based off of an old story about a woman who’s looking for the man she loves and eventually finds him while She’s tending to a patient who turns out to be the man she loves.
Here are some honorable mentions: - Chicken Little (Chicken Little) - Bruno Madrigal (Encanto) - Kouvu (The Lion King II: Simba's Pride) - Flik and the Circus Bugs (A Bug's Life) - Bolt and Penny (Bolt) - Pinocchio (Pinocchio) - Tod (The Fox and the Hound) - Mulan (Mulan) - Michael "Goob" Yagoobian AKA The Bowler Hat Guy (Meet the Robinsons) - Koda (Brother Bears)
Cruz Ramirez from Cars 3 should’ve at least gotten a mention on this list. Mr. Sterling would refer to her as a “trainer” when Lightning thought she was a racer. She also faced sexism during her childhood which makes me want her to have a prequel spin-off before she met Lightning.
Mirabel , Bruno , Athena (Ariel’s mom) and Tod the fox DEFINITELY deserve a spot on this list especially Bruno who was shunned from his own family for years just for having a power that’s “too scary” for them At least Mirabel was allowed to still live with the family but she was still bullied just for not having any powers but both were eventually relieved from their shunning by the end of the movie Athena like Mufasa missed out on her children growing up and would have been extremely proud of Ariel for her bravery and determination to live as a human Also not to mention she died very tragically by accident from fishermen at a fairly young age As for Tod he’s got a very sad tragic story of constant loss of the most precious things in his life : His mother, foster mother/home, and eventually his only best friend At least he finds a girlfriend and returns to the wild to live a presumed happy life as a wild fox but he definitely deserved a better , happier , and healthier childhood with his real mother instead of being treated like a pet dog
Oh and if you see the DVD “sequel” Of the Fox and the Hound, Tod gets left behind by Copper and causes a chain reaction of events which makes the 2 mad and upset with each other
They didn't talk about Bruno from Encanto when his history is extremily sad and identifiable, his family rejected and in the end he is the one who apologizes to his family when he was not to blame for anything. In fact, many claim that Bruno could be neurodivergent and that makes him even more identifiable because they hate him for his gift, something he never asked to have nor could he choose. The family Madrigal was seen as a family whose gifts brought prosperity to the town and Bruno, by not meeting these characteristics, was left aside by everyone, just for being different when the only thing we wanted, like Mirabel, was to make his family proud. How many feeling rejected for their way of being, end up alone for something that is not their fault.
I honestly think Anna wasn't allowed to leave the castle because they didn't want the kingdom to suspect about why Anna leaves the castle but Elsa doesn't
Yeah Tod’s story is definitely very tragic with him losing all the things most precious to him : His mother , foster mother / home , and his only best friend But in the end he found a girlfriend and returned to the wilderness to live a happy life with her or so the ending implies Then again he spent all his youth locked inside a house being treated like a pet instead of a wild fox That old lady (forgot her name) had good intentions to take care of an orphaned baby fox but her mistake was she grew TOO attached to him and kept him too long as a pet which is why their separation was so difficult plus Tod had no experience to survive the wild so in a way she left him as an “abandoned stray dog” Not to mention he lost everything precious to him one thing after another over time so yeah I’m gonna say you’re right he DEFINITELY deserved better bc his story is extremely tragic
I loved Cinderella since I was a kid. Although being mistreated and abused by your stepfamily is cruel. It’s even worse in the 1998 adaptation Ever After: A Cinderella Story that she gets whipped by her stepmother
Before Rapunzel, there was Quasimodo. His mentor had his father arrested and killed his mom. Even tried to kill him as a baby but decided to raise him as his own but never loved nor cared about him throughout the movie. He’s pretty much worse than Mother Gothel including the seven deadly sins
I was shocked and sad to see Ray die, but at least they showed that his spirit got a chance to have a dream come true, and be with the girl of his dreams.
So, a man pretends to be interested in a fairy in order to humiliate her and rip her wings off. As a result, she curses his daughter to die. What exactly did this baby do to her? OK, she regrets her actions later and tries to undo the spell, but she never should have cast it in the first place.
Megara, Anna & Elsa, Rapunzel, Tadashi Hamada, Nani Pelekai, Mufasa, and Quasimodo definitely deserved better than what they went through. Also, Cassandra from "Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure" should've been given an honorable mention.
I adore frozen, honest to God, but Anna was a brat who had no sense of timing. She was only concerned about her pain, completely ignoring Elsa’s boundaries.
We got the characters from the movies… wonder which Disney TVA characters deserved better? Also… man, the mention about what happened to Tadashi still hurts. It hits hard for Hiro in both the movie and the TV show.
Thanks, Emily, this was a great top, and, you're right , these characters deserved better. Have a happy tuesday morning and God bless you, greetings from Colombia to you as well.
#19 ray may have deserved better but at all the same I do love at the end that he was able to be with his true love so I consider his story to be sad and happy
Man, I can't wait to see what's in store for Nick in Zootopia 2. Imagine if we ever got to see more of his backstory being unfold as we see what he becomes as he grows up. Even when he eventually turns his life around. 🥹🥹🥹
Some things in these “kids movies” and books are truly horrifying, and maybe shouldn’t be in kids media. Seriously, some of the horrors suffered by Rick Riordan characters are truly unthinkable.
Do a Dreamworks version with characters like Jack Frost/Perrito/and probably Snake since even though Perrito happy with his life he didn’t realise what his previous owners we’re trying to do and like Snake said when your a snake no one shows up to your birthday parties
Elsa totally deserved better. I might be biased because she’s my favorite Disney character but she she shouldn’t have been locked up because of an accident and because she’s different. I kinda relate to Elsa
First off she’s my favorite too. Second off if the trolls had wiped her memory she wouldn’t have isolated herself (even though that was her choice because she remembers everything and thought she was dangerous.) third off she’s still that scared girl for most of the movie trauma can arrest (for lack of a better word) a person’s development. Last thing her parents should have encouraged her to explore her abilities instead of be terrified of them and basically herself.
Chicken little- he wanted love of the town & his father too, he deserves of love 🙁 Flick- he'll deserve some love for his family. He got at end. Love be first 💕 Milo - he deserve loved because he's grandfather being like farther 😢 In sequel Milo Meeting him. Krou oldest brother - He wants mother love 😢 he dead. His last words:"Sorry, mother, I'II try😢😢😢 Onwards the lucky rabbit- he'll lose the famous, will he was 2 games & short, lost his father 😢😢😢
As much as I passionately love the Frozen franchise, I also feel very bad for poor Elsa mainly because she really didn’t deserve to be isolated in her and it felt so forced. Anna really insisted on going out to play with Anna but ever since the accident, Elsa’s parents forcefully kept Elsa hidden away from Anna. You could have just helped Elsa of controlling her own powers instead of hiding them, they are the only humans who I passionately dislike so much. Another one that I felt bad for was definitely Mufasa because while I am excited for the 30th anniversary of the Lion King, I can’t lie that I really felt heartbroken when Mufasa was killed off and Simba witnessing it in the process, it really made me more sad than angry because it was so unnecessary at all!!! 😮🥶😰 #Disney100 #MsMojo
While I agree that the parents are not the brightest Elsa isolated herself by choice because she had the memory of the accident burned into her mind. She was scared (any kid would be) and the parents only made it worse.
Next, you should do a video of top 10 or top 20 TV show characters that deserved better. I'll name a few examples: 1. Josh Nichols (Drake & Josh) 2. Freddie Benson (iCarly) 3. Richard Castle (Castle) 4. Robbie Shapiro (Victorious) 5. Coconut Head (Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide) 6. Tori Vega (Victorious)
Did you actually just say you that Mufasa was a great father FIGURE to Simba? Well yeah he was a great father figure. Perhaps because he actually is Simba’s father!
They all had tragic stories and deserved better, but most of the stories still ended up good at the end like Frozen and Frozen 2, 5:18 or she had a miscarriage and then can have children but I don't think it matters anymore
I love ❤ the character of Penelope. Treasure Planet Jim and his Mom 👩 ❤ remind me of my son and myself when he was and later as he became a teen it is an excellent movie 🎬 but very unrated.
I can’t watch tangled bc I get too upset thinking about her parents… the only comfort is that there was a rejected episode of the tv show showing that her life is much better off growing up in the tower 😂
