The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003) Slumdog Millionaire (2008) The Pianist (2002) Lost in Translation (2003) Shaun of the Dead (2004) Before Sunset (2004)
Excellent scene, The Fellowship of the Ring is still the best film in the trilogy though. Easily in my opinion as well. All 3 are excellent films though. 👍👍
@@PeterAtkinson i must be the exception, to me Two Towers is the best by a mile. Call it the Empire Strikes Back formula, where you separate the group and it just works. Merry and Pip and the trees were kinda blargh, but the ROhan storyline, sam and Frodo and GOllum, theres just a sense of dread, I will take Towers over all of the other middle earth movies any day. King as actually the *weakest* in my view
I bet this was a truly difficult list to make considering how many great movies that came out in the 2000’s. These movies definitely made a huge impact for me considering how they came out during the adolescent part of my life.
Sorry but No Country for ( stupid) old Men is one of the worst movie's ever made . Slow , boring and just plain stupid . Put yourself in any character's shoes in that movie and none of it makes any sense.
@@bradley8575 are you saying those are good or bad . Because I can understand if you're understand if you are young and like those movie's. They are kid movie's .
Lmao, it's definitely something you should watch though, it's a good movie. It gets clowned on a lot, there's a lot of really goofy tropes in it, and it's not particularly great in the rewatchability aspect (yep, I just invented a word) but it's sure as hell worth a watch, it's a really powerful movie.
Daniel Craig's Bond is one for the history books. He gives off the raw appeal and danger of a wild beast in a cage which I also got that vibe from in the books. I'd watch a 100 more bind mvies with Craig in them.
For some reason the 2000s get second billing when it comes to best decades in movie history, but to me they are neck and neck for the No 1 spot along with the 90s!
I'm glad Lost In Translation was at least a honorable mention. One of my favorite movies. Sofia Coppola isn't a good actor, but she's a damn good director.
X2 X-Men United Spider-Man 2 Wedding Crashers King Kong (2005) Harry Potter and the Philosopher Stone. These are some of the movies I reconcile with the 2000s and deserve more credit.
My list: 1. Coda 2. Finding Nemo 3. School of Rock 4. Amelie 5. Elf 6. The Lobster 7. Taken 8. Her 9. Ghost World 10. Inside Out 11. The Devil Wears Prada 12. Under the Tuscan Sun 13. Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 14. Flipped 15. In Her Shoes 16. Bring it On 17. Danny Deckchair 18. Ex Machina 19. Donnie Darko 20. Mad Max: Fury Road
Great list, thank you, I sincerely enjoyed the video! I just kind of missed any of the Bourne trilogy movies that all were released in the 2000s. Anyway, all movies in the list are amazing
Collateral 2004 and Passion of The Christ, The Last Samurai, Unbreakable, Signs, Punch Drunk Love, Black Hawk Down, Chronicles of Narnia, Kingdom Of Heaven Directors Cut, Cinderella Man, SpongeBob the Movie, So many of those movies should be on here.
I can't agree with this list but I do respect it. My favorites 1. Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind. 2. The Departed 3. Cast away 4. The Dark Knight 5. Brokeback mountain 6. Inglorious Bastards 7. City of God 8. There will be blood 9. No country for old men 10. Pan's labyrinth
I don't know how you guys do it, but these are really well-put-together videos, and there seems to be one for at least "many" of the topics I'm interested in. Good stuff. And a great decade for movies, or at least one I had a lot of growth in to watch them.
This list is 100%! I would dare to put on this list the original The Fast And The Furious movie and Pirates Of The Caribbean: The Curse Of The Black Pearl.
"The Lord of the Rings " moves fit the times that we were in at the time ! Since they all came out post 9/11 .And felt at the time with opening lines in the first movie ,that we need a escape to go to .But you right "Lord of the Rings Return of the King " had it place then .And it still a timeless movie to watch today !
okay y’all made a lifetime fan out of me with this list. this is a phenomenal list, but ending it with my all time favorite movie?! legendary. Return of the King (and the entire LOTR franchise for that matter) does not get enough attention or credit. the acting alone is just phenomenal, orlando bloom and viggo mortensen put on all time performances in each of the 3 films in this trilogy. props watchmojo, props ❤️
Mine would include in no specific order: -Gladiator -No Country For Old Men -There Will Be Blood -A Serious Man -Minority Report -Chicken Run -Friday Night Lights -Gran Torino -Miracle

It's unbelievable They put mean girls over interstellar, inception, American psycho, requiem for a dream, unbreakable etc. I think y'all could have done a few picks better.
Interstellar is sooooooo good, I had to watch it twice because I'm kinda stupid and it gave me a brain ouchie the first time. But it's freaking perfect, and I don't say that about very many movies.
My Top 10 Movies of the 2000s 1. Memento 2. Inglorious Basterds 3. The Hurt Locker 4. American Psycho 5. Casino Royale 6. Iron Man 7. Black Hawk Down 8. Ray 9. Walk The Line 10. Man on Fire
Good grief, James Cameron’s ‘Avatar’ still the number one highest grossing film of all time. The long-awaited sequel will come out starting this December.
It honestly didn't age well to me, it's not terrible, it's definitely a visually and technical masterpiece, there's no denying that. But the plot was just kinda empty and cliche to me. Yea yea we get it, humanity sucks. Tell me a new story now.
@@zzz43344 yea. I'm definitely not saying it's terrible by any means, but I think overrated is applicable. I generally try to stay away from that term because it's so subjective, whether something is over or underrated depends on how other people rate it, but I think when we're talking about the highest grossing movie of all time, that's as close as we can get to something being objectively rated very highly.
Revenge of the Sith, Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2, Serenity, Collateral, Monsters Inc, Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Die Hard 4.0, Taken, Iron Man, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight and Brothers

There are lots of incredible movies but one of the best (in my opinion) will be: Star Wars III Revenge of the Sith. Lots of incredible scenes and such an epic Soundtrack
My Top 10 Favourite Movies of the 2000s: 01. The Dark Knight (2008) 02. The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003) 03. The Departed (2006) 04. There Will Be Blood (2007) 05. Gladiator (2000) 06. Inglourious Basterds (2009) 07. No Country for Old Men (2007) 08. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004) 09. Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (2000) 10. Children of Men (2006)
Kung Fu Hustle (2004), Infernal Affairs (2002, the template for Scorsese's The Departed), Bong Joon Ho's Mother (2009) or Memories of Murder (2003), Kar Wai Wong's In The Mood for Love (2000), Iñarritu's Amores Perros (2000)...
I feel like if they mentioned that, they should have given some love to Jet Li's Fearless. I know it's apples and oranges since Crouching Tiger is over the top on purpose, and Fearless is a more grounded, realistic Martial arts flic, it is based on a true story. But damnit it's badass. I'm probably a little biased bc I love Jet Li, but to me that's one of the best martial arts movies ever.
Thank you for having return of the king at number one. Nothing will ever top that movie, I wish I could go back and watch it for the first time in theaters.
No superhero film will ever come to the calibre of the Dark Knight Trilogy. Nolan created a masterfully crafted trio of perfectly written stories with some of the most compelling character renditions of the beloved heroes we know.
Zodiac and Almost Famous and Casino Royale and Mean Girls and Pan's Labyrinth and Gladiator and Avatar and The Hurt Locker and Iron Man and The Departed and City of God and Children of Men and No Country For Old Men and The Dark Knight and The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King are my 2000s movies that is are part of my fondest memories on the DVDs
Where is Tropic Thunder? Movie was hilarious. Also, I would have put Spider Man 2 on the list. Doctor Octavius was amazing and the story had real heart.
is it just me or is WatchMojo just recycling old videos at this point and making essentially a remastered version a few years later? lol like there's no way they haven't done some variation of this list at least twice
For me: 1. Mulholland Drive 2. Spirited Away 3. There Will Be Blood 4. The Return of the King 5. No Country For Old Men 6. Love Exposure 7. The Fellowhsip of the Ring 8. City of God 9. Eternal Sunshine of Spotless Mind 10. Memento 11. Oldboy 12. Werckmeister Harmonies 13. Memories of Murder 14. Inglourious Basterds 15. In the Mood for Love 16. Wall-E 17. Children of Men 18. The Dark Knight 19. Dogville 20. In Bruges
Ikr. Seriously, how come they didn't put Sam Raimi's Spider-Man (2004) on this list? That movie was awesome. Same goes for DC's Watchmen:The Ultimate Cut as well.
I just learned that "Mean Girls" is a better film than: Mulholland Drive, Memento, Spirited Away, Oldboy, In the Mood for Love, Amores Perros, Amelie, and others!!!
