12:30 Gunther was my favorite character outside of the main cast. He reminded me of Charlie Brown because of his unrequited crush on Rachel. Rachel was basically Gunther’s Little Red Haired Girl.
The fact that number 7 was just "Janice" and not "Janice's laugh" or "Oh my god" or had a penchant for appearing in the worst situations just proves how legendary this woman is
Each friend had their own repetitive, iconic line. Ross's depressed, 'Hi' Pheobe's, 'Oh No' Rachel's, 'No!' Monica's, 'I know!' Joey's, 'How you doin'?' And Chandler's over pronouciation of words, such as be,this, ect.
Other running gags: - Phoebe being vegetarian - Phoebe's kinkiness - Ross's job boring everyone else - Joey being dumb - Rachel's NOOO - Monica being fat (doesn't fly nowadays) - Chandler's father (also doesn't fly) - Ross's hi - Joey never calling women again
Two of the best non-Smelly Cat Phoebe songs are: "There was a girl let's call her Betty, and a guy let's call him Neil. Now, I can't stress this point too strongly; this story isn't real" and "The cow in the meadow goes moo" :-D
When they say"Oh Phoebs" and especially when Phoebe said it and was told that "Phoebs" is short or Phoebe not just something they say to eachother. Kills me every time!
Could all of them BE any funnier? I am 76 and have seen just about every funny thing on TV since I was 6 years old…and FRIENDS makes me laugh and laugh no matter how many times I watch all of these on RU-vid and I am getting all 10 seasons on DVDs. I love Chandler, Ross, Joey, Rachael, Monica and Phoebe……they are all just like my hysterically funny children and grandchildren. I will always cry about the loss of Matthew Perry just like I cry about the loss of my oldest son and my granddaughter……such wonderful human beings. FRIENDS is the best…always.
The best "on a break" line was when Rachael is going to London. Hugh Laurie was her seatmate and he says to her that it was obvious they were on a break.
I don’t agree! It all depends upon your individual sense of humor. If you like silly… if you like physical… if you like sarcastic…. Subtle… I know people who think the Ross character was too childish and over- the- top ( silly)- but loved Chandler. You think Ross had the most funny moments. That’s the beauty of “friends” - if you don’t like one, you’ll like another! There’s something for everyone here-
I can't believe they left out Marcel, the monkey, and the chick and the duck. I love the episode where they all sing "The Lion Sleeps Tonight," and Joey does the high part. lol
Fun fact: the fist gesture is the simplest way to detect a Friends fan. Tbh, I have always found Monica's perfectionism admirable rather than funny, as a sort of a perfectionist myself. And Ross's divorces actually made me feel sorry for him, he shouldn't have been laughed at cause of his constant failures.
@@dimidrugg9592 that implies that every marriage is worth staying in and it's not. Divorcing an abuser can be a very brave thing and deserves celebration, for example.
Monica: “The camera adds 10 pounds…” Chandler: “How many cameras are actually on you” 😭😂 say what you want but everything about this show was so funny and still is and forever will be! Some people just need a sense of humor and sometimes you just gotta laugh even at yourself when you can relate!
That is and will always be my favorite line of the 10 years it was on. That is also my favorite episode. My 2nd favorite line is when they all find out about Chandler and Monica. After they go through the - they know that we know thing..............and they tell Joey not to say anything and he says "I coudnt if I wanted to"
The whole "we were on a break" gag always had me laughing, especially in the first episode of season 4 and how it followed into Ross and Rachel's hilarious argument.
This show literally saved my life. I was in one of the darkest depression episodes I’ve ever experienced and I bought a few seasons of “Friends” on tapes. I watched nothing but Friends. The laughter brought me back to life. I was so saddened to hear of Matthew’s passing. The world will miss him and it won’t be the same without him here. However, his love will live on in the altruistic deeds he’s done for others. All that being said, I wish I had a “Monica” to come n clean my house. I would pay her! 😅 This is one of the best shows ever. I watch reruns regularly. It never gets old n I laugh every time.
"Oh My God" deserves its own spot on the list. Like "I know", it is a catchphrase that started with one character but ended up being used all over the show
This joke wasn't mentioned on the whole 10 years of the show but I just love how the guys are always saying how much fun Fun Bobby is. But Fun Bobby is never any fun. He's either an alcoholic or a recovering alcoholic or he's in mourning for a lost loved one and every time you see him he's crying. LMAO every time I see him.
I did once. I had taken my son on vacation and his father had gone on his own vacation with friends. He ended up having to end it early, and insisted we come home. I said nope. He called back and said I know where you like to stay, I'll just figure out where you are and join you. So we went to the second hotel and I used Regina Phalange. The clerk looked at me and laughed.
As far as Pheobe's song go, I'm surprised you didn't include the time she tried her hand at kiddie songs. Especially when she tried to tell the kids where meat comes from
Chandler’s dancing’s great for exercising. ‘Phoebe’s’ happiness was her way of surviving her tumultuous childhood. (I don’t mean this to be trite.) When Matthew Perry passed away,it truly was a ‘Janice’, “Oh my Gahd” and a ‘Rachel’, “Nooooo” moment.
My first born and I used to watch Friends together when it came on in the 90s. Fast forward 2010s and his siblings start watching it! The show is timeless!
