Honestly, I would rather sing and drown the yelling out rather than have to listen to it over the music. The parents may not have realized their child entered the room, and they feel terrible. Omg, YALL they are saying "lalalala" So they wont hear their parents fighting (thats why they put the headphones on) another reason for them to say "lalalala" is to make sure they dont hear them, even with the headphones on.

For those of you who don’t understand the meme: The parents are fighting and obviously the kids doesn’t like it. The kid then fines a pear of headphones. The kid puts them on and hears a song that goes: “Lalalalala.” They then start singing along with the song. Now it sounds like the kid is trying to ignore the screaming by saying: “Lalalala.” And that’s what the parents think. I did this because some people were sorta making fun of this in the comments by saying things like Kid: says *lalalala * Random people: “SO SAD” I honestly think that’s kinda rude, especially because many parents have fights like this and have divorce all the time. Plus people work hard coming up with these memes, finding good audio THEN making the meme.

My parents got divorced when I was 6, I would here them fighting but I always thought... that they where fighting about whether we went to Disneyland or A castle... I found that I was wrong the hard way and expressed my self by music🥲

Ik this is a joke but I don't think its the singing that's sad, it's the concept. The fact that the child has to sing and listen to something on a higher volume just to forget that their parents are fighting is something that is happening irl and is quite depressing. The parents start crying cause they realize they were hurting their child, emotionally not physically. basically I think it's how you cover your ears and saw "Lalala i can't hear you to drown someone out",it's kinda like when you start singing it with the headphones on,it snaps your parents back to reality and they realise they have a child and it makes them like-sad that their child needed to drown them out.I guess it depends on your character's relationship with their parents

Ok I’m confused by this trend too but here are some theories are to why the people who fight are surprised and/or crying when the person sings. 1: They didn’t realize the kid was in the room 2: They think they are singing a song to block out the noise 3: The music has some kind of backstory 4: They didn’t know the kid could sing or something- 5: They think the kid has a special power or something Idek anymore-
