My brother had the 2011 Police Station set. Many battles and prison breaks happened there. Eventually it was destroyed in some apocalyptic event or something.
@@PHANTOMZOMBIE We made our LEGOs battle all the time. There were wars spanning that sometimes spanned months, caused by political, social, and even sometimes religious issues. Thinking back on it now it's hilarious but we loved it. We were very creative as children.
Yes, many of my Lego sets were destroyed in some type of dismantling or scrapping. But many of them are now being rebuilt and I am looking forward to seeing all these sets rebuilt again instead of being pieces in a ziplock bag.
The 2014 camper van was the last gift my grandfather gave me before passing away, one of my biggest regrets in life was not cherishing it more at the time…
I honestly love the older LEGO city sets, I feel like the newer ones now sort of lack originality and we never really get something new to the table. With the recent farm sets, thats changed
Offroad fire rescue was a super early Lego set for me as well! I completely forgot I had this memory but when I was 4 my family went on a vacation, visited a big aquarium and in a store my parents bought the fire truck and the doctor's car for my brother and me. Great times.
I have alot of nostalgia for the 3178 seaplane set. I have no clue why i just love the 2007-2011 look where not everything had to be curved or studless
I have about 75% of these and I’m planning to rebuild them. A funny coincidence is that off-road fire truck was also my very first Lego set. I love the nostalgia these sets bring me.
The old raised platform Indiana Jones set was awesome to play on as a kid. We made that a part of the city rather than the actual set it was meant to be. It was like a temple or something and it had the Russian lady and two of her goons. Really fun times back then. Super nostalgic video my man, you really brought back some fond memories with this one.
7942 was also one of my first sets!! And I also own the garbage truck from 2012! And god I love 7286, will always be one of my favorite sets (also had that) 7498, my first like big Lego build, will always have a place in my heart
I love older Lego City sets tbh. The new ones try too hard to be modern or "pastel" in design to me imo The older ones I have so much nostalgia for, and thankfully for good reasons as well lol
I would add: 60097 City Square. The set is quite big, has a lot of minifigs, the LEGO store looks nice, the tram and the stop look modern, overall a great addition to your city. 7641 City Corner. As I heard this was the first true city set, the buildings add up to each other well and look classy, good for storymaking, looks outdated now but still a great set for me. 60050 Train Station. Has some cool shops (the LEGO one especially), looks modern, has modern amenities. 4207 City Garage. A multitude of nice cars, big set, many things to do with it.
I always wanted the Lego semi truck set, but it retired before I could ever get it one day I was at a second-hand store and found the set but I didn't have money on me so I was going to come back for it but the store closed down and I never got it
NOWBODY MAKES A LIST OF BEST LEGO CITY SETS WITHOUT ADDING A TRAIN TO THEIR LIST!!!!!!!!!!! The Lego City trains were awesome. You can run them around, and they usually have a ton of other play features. FINDING OUT THAT NO LEGO CITY TRAIN MADE IT TO THE LIST MAKES ME FURIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I 100% agree with your number 1. I remember seeing that set for the first time when I was 11, my parents said it was too expensive and got me a 4439 Helicopter. At the age of 21, I purchased this police station on eBay for $57, only missing a few pieces easy to replace. Man what a GREAT set it is
Wow, I’ve never even seen half of these before! That museum set is totally a classic.. I think my favorite hospital is this year’s, with the new ambulance using the highlighter color!
Yes, I love the lego tops, I remember the old days ahhhh what times, the nostalgia of our past that was also of modern times that you can see the differences of the changes that they are good and bad I wanted the cargo truck very much but I didn't succeed sam mil I was born in 2007 and living in Romania 🇷🇴 my family was not good in the early 2000s but it has improved often Over the years I liked this set but I didn't manage to buy it I jump hope one day to get it from Bricklink to give the garbage truck from 2016 I wanted it but I couldn't convince myself parents to buy this one. I remember that we try to convince my parents every morning when we go to school to buy me the train station, success, but prison on the island, not to mention another work of persuasion that ended in the final, with nothing was Christmas, I remember before and I made the list for Santa Claus, unfortunately I didn't bring Santa ClausWhat I wanted, lego, one of the sets I received only in 2019, that is, 5 years later, yes and I had asked Santa Claus to bring me the lego sets, but I never brought what I wanted, very rarely, the hospital in 2018 I had it clever Set I can say that once my wish was fulfilled, the same was true of the police station in 2010, I wanted it but I didn't receive it and, admittedly, my family made many sacrifices for me, to make me happy, especially since I was sick since I was little, I have chronic kidney disease, yes, 14 years of torment, trips through hospitals in Romania 🇷🇴 that have the best conditions, I recommend you to treat yourselves in them, I am approaching a kidney transplant, yes, almost the end of a long sleep, with hardships, there are adventures that finally end and another one begins, I am grateful to God for the sixth It has also been given to me by my family who support me and to my loved ones who have helped me and will continue to support me, I wish you all to have a wonderful life full of joy and happiness and don't forgetFamily is always the most important, that's why I'm passionate about Lego because Lego represents family 😊
Cool list. I didn't know about half of these sets. I got into City because of LEGO City Undercover. Since then I use that city as the model for my concept of Lego City in general. I mean the limo form number 19 was an unlockable car and I only found out now it was a real set. I am also a truck driver so I had to find that lego semi at 13. I wish i could have gotten the Toys 'R' Us one though since I drive a blue truck IRL. And your number 1 pic was actually the police station they used in the game and that's pretty awesome. A side note, a friend of mine has been getting me the City Advent Calendars for a few years now. I started the tradition by getting my brother the Star Wars Advent Calendar. In exchange he sends me a pic of what he gets each day. My friend doesn't have any siblings or much of an extended family but he wanted in on the fun and one year suprised me with the City Calendar. It's been great since I got this tradition started. The lead up to Christmas is so much more fun now.
I never was able to get the Lego police station… that was until Covid, and after that first year, my brother and I decided to get the Lego city police station and airport off of bricklink, as a special treat for making it through a tough year. It was so pricey but getting to build it was so worth it!
i actully own Prision island Tow truck (white and green) Garbage truck Prisioner transport ( but sadly only the police van beacuse i bought it at a yard sale
My favorite one is the 2010 airport 3182, I remember having to get my grades better so I could have this set, I was 8 at the time, I don't have it anymore as I didn't know how to keep my toys intact as a kid, but it's my favorite just for the emotional value
the 2011 police station is also my favorite lego city set, and most of the reason has to do because it was my first ever lego set, that police station was the reason i got into lego, i still have it today, all tho sadly the minifig were lost through the years, i still have everything
