I didn't watch the movies until after the sets were retired, so I've had a difficult time tracking down the main characters since then from places like ebay. Things have worked out pretty well, but I'd still love the theme to come back because there are tons of characters I'd still love to have, and there's still so many sets they could make
@@bradsbrickpost It actually wasn't too bad. I've gotten all the fellowship (minus Boromir) plus Gollum, Sauroman, and some Ringwraiths. I got a couple of sets at close to retail price, and the most I paid for a fig was ~$10 for Pippin. (Lego Dimensions was very helpful too)
Love these figures, got a bunch of them when the LoTR and Hobbit kits first released. Shame a ton of them cost so much, I want to complete the collection
I think I'll actually be heartbroken if they don't do Hobbit/LOTR sets next year, and I mean those not ROP. The detail they put into them is incredible to this day, and people have been waiting for nearly 10 years now
@@bradsbrickpost I agree, back when they still did them the sets had a balance of quantity and quality while also maintaining a reasonable price which could be a HUGE hit for them these days
The Bard and Azog were released as comic con preview figures and not exclusives though many thought they were exclusive at the time with the Azog figure shooting up to 1500 within days of release. People still try to sell the Azog for 1000 for the exclusive packaging but are likely trying to recoup their own money they sunk into that figure.
Gandalf's minifigure need a upgrade immediately, like Lego did with Dumbledore's minifigure too. About that list, Gimli is on top 3, certainty. Because his torso, beard and helmet is so nifty
Towe of Orthanc is full of expensive figs. I am pretty sure Grima Wormtongue is one of the most valuable lord of the rings figures out there available in a retail set.
Lol, it's funny he mentioned that the white dress can be used for a wedding dress custom. Which is EXACTLY why I bought her off bricklink. And the character I was hoping to see on this list ;) I came back to Lego in 2019, so I totally missed out on all the LOTR sets, so if they do bring them back. I'm all for it! -- Edit, I only paid 15 for her, which I felt was expensive. I would have gotten my wedding dress elsewhere had she actually been selling for 45 bucks.
Hey I think you are forgetting Arwen's epic chase with the wring wraiths. She crosses the river and summons the river to rise and then she takes Frodo to Rivendell
My two favourite minifigures are definitely Saruman from The Tower of Orthanc and the Ringwraith. Unfortunately, i own only Dimensions Legolas and Gimli, and one single Gandalf, ordered from webstore.
My Haldir mini figure still looks good, but unfortunately I had to glue his left fist and leg because they were really broken. He still looks good for display, but I love to change poses of figures, so I think I will buy a new one
I like Legolas but I think they could have done better with the face and had the ears stick out less because in the film the elven ears are not that prominent
I don't understand how they're bringing Indiana Jones back but not LOTR. Pirates of the carribean could use a return with an adult line. The old ship builds look terrible
correct me if i'm wrong but i think vitruvius' cape (lego movie) is the same as galadriel's cape except his was in blue? if it's the same cape i think its very cool!
