The longer I watch this video, the more I'm convinced that the casualties are most often people who are not supervising their kids properly.

I had moon shoes when I was a kid, and pretty much 80% of the time would end up falling over and hurting myself when I played with them. They mysteriously disappeared after the first few times I used them. Now starting to think the disappearance was not so mysterious.

It's insane how many of these toys I actually had as a kid. 😁 (I absolutely loved my wood-burning kit, lol)

My son had most of these toys, ironically, with NO injuries. Besides, quite a of the injuries were when parents gave kids who were too young for the toy, or the toy was used improperly. If parents used common sense, so many injuries could be avoided.

I had at least 10 Mighty Max sets when I was little and never once thought to eat them. You can make the argument that ANY toy is dangerous when given to kids who are young enough.

I love how the CSI Fingerprint kit comes with yellow tape like you'd tape off the perimeter around your little sister's room while you investigate if she stole your Nintendo DS

I had a creepy crawlers oven when I was a Kid as well as an Easy Bake oven. However, there is a thing called Adult Supervision here where I was always accompanied by a parent growing up when I played with these toys and never got burned and what not. In reality, the kids are not to blame, it’s the parents for not watching their children.

Honorable Mention: The original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Pizza Thrower. That thing was vicious

I feel like 98% of these are just the case of kids being way too young to have these toys. Just because they’re cool toys does not mean your kid should have them if they are way younger than the age suggestion, the warnings are for a reason!

Most dangerous toy I ever owned (actually still do) was the 1999 Qui-Gon Jinn lightsaber from Episode 1. Apparently they were recalled because a production fault caused the batteries to either melt down or explode. But I was a weird kid who didn’t like my toys making noise, so I never put batteries in it. Guess my weirdness saved me 😅

I'm surprised Sky Dancers aren't on here. Those things hurt when you couldn't figure out why they weren't flying so you had to watch it taking off and WOW it would suddenly work and take off in your face (or get the doll/mechanism tangled in your hair.) I had the original Polly Pocket and sure, I easily lost them but I never swallowed them, even at a really young age. I loved those things! I also had the Moon Shoes (I'd bounce around the house in them for hours, they were so fun) and the 90's version of The Easy Bake Oven (which cooked the "goodies" over a light bulb...) I remember the commercials for Creepy Crawlies (and being creeped out by them) and in either my pre-teens or teens the Aqua Bubble. Never got either of those (though I was always curious about the Aqua Bubble.) I had a few Nerf Guns and a TON of toy squirt guns, and bottle rockets were a science class experiment! Lawn Darts feel so familiar but I don't think I've ever actually owned them (maybe a family member owned a ripoff at some time or another,) and I never had a problem with hammocks as a kid. (And I had one of those little trampolines too, but quickly traded up for a 15' enclosed trampoline.)

My dad got some lawn darts from a thrift store, once. I remember how much fun we had with them...that being said, the fun my siblings and I had with them wasn't the kind they were intended for, but they were fun, nonetheless. Example: I threw a lawn dart into the air and it hit a power line. I remember an arc of electricity jumping into the metal tip...like I said, the fun my siblings and I had with the darts wasn't the kind of fun they were intended for, but I still had good memories.

I had an Easy Bake oven that had a "safety" feature built in: the door wouldn't open until the bulb had cooled to a certain temperature. It may have been a knock off; I'm not sure. I think my Mom bought it at a church rummage sale. One thing I do remember, though: it made me want to learn how to bake for scratch, not the pre-packaged mixes. 40+ years later, I still bake from scratch. Haven't used a boxed mix in ages.

When my daughter was younger she wanted a little makeup kit so I bought her one of the toy ones made for kids with the makeup they can put on. Apparently the kids makeup that comes in toys and stuff doesn't go through the same testing standards like real and good make up go through. That's when we learned not only how sensitive her skin was but also about how low the standards are for kids makeup sets that come in toys. I tell people to just get a cheap real makeup set if they decide to get their child or any other child they know a makeup set.

Pogo sticks should have received an honorable mention. Only operates well on a hard flat surface. Just a little off balance, face plant (usually on concrete). Try to brace yourself, possible broken bone(s).

As someone who had the original Polly pockets at the age of 8. "What?!". What dummy is eating Polly Pockets?!

People: Kids these days are so fragile and sheltered! These toys are perfectly fine! Also people: This toy sent my kid to a hospital! I'll sue! How could you let this thing be sold to children?!

Most of these "dangerous" toys were perfectly fine. It was just parents not watching their damn kids or letting kids too young for them to use them

I owned Polly Pockets as a kid! (I'm a 2000's kid) though... mine didn't have magnets, the clothes came in two pieces that you have to clip into place over the doll or were pretty rubbery and were stretched and pulled over the doll

Growing up in the 90’s was awesome! We seriously had the best toys

I swallowed a monopoly piece once. Couldn't breathe, couldn't talk. Could only panic really. I panicked so hard that I jumped a few times in a row with my back against the wall. It eventually worked and the impact on my back made me spit it. I was soooooo lucky. My mom was in the room but didn't see me swallow anything so she thought I was acting silly.

Liquid extasy?? "Hey, can i get one of those Aqua Dots??" "For your kid??" "Sure......for my kid..."

I was a definitely a Polly Pocket girl growing up, so were a lot of my friends at that age (around 6 or 7). I don't recall there ever being an issue or that those toys were dangerous. I loved those stupid little things.

The only serious toy injury any of us had when growing up was from an "innocuous" toy bow with suction cup arrows that a neighbor had. He pointed it at a tree but the suction cup fell off and it ricocheted right into my brother's eye, blinding him for life. Yes, you really CAN shoot your eye out.

Never had the CSI kit, but I grew up watching the show as a kid. While the subject matter was more mature I wanted to be a forensic scientist when I was in first grade.

I remember the Aqua Dots and wanting some when younger. But then they were recalled, and I never knew why until now.😂

I had a wood-burning set (burned myself), creepy-crawlers (burned myself), a chemistry set (burned myself -- the hardware store used to sell the chemicals, btw), lawn darts (no one ever got hurt with them: they were obviously dangerous so even as children we knew to be careful), and endless toy guns that shot things (my friend shot me with my BB gun; I shot out the neighbor's window). My sister had an Easy-Bake oven (she never burned herself, the little goody-two-shoes never did anything wrong).

I grew up in the 70s and 80s. We had the Battlestar Galactica ships. We had lawn darts, used them for years and years without incident, much like our horseshoes. Ours were called "Jarts". Few BBQ in the 70s didn't have them. My brothers and I also had many pellet and BB guns. We had "BB" gun fights as well in the woods. How we all kept our eyes, I'll never know.

I remember wanting an art kit that made slides for Christmas once. I didn't get it. I was told it was too expensive, which I accepted, because my family were not very well off. Many years later I found out the materials in the kit were dangerous.

Besides the radioactive kit the most dangerous of the toys was the Moon Shoes. Even when used as directed it could easily result in falls that led to broken or knocked out teeth, cut lip, bleeding nose, and or a broken ankle. Most other toys on this list were perfectly safe when “used as directed” including the recommended age and parental supervision.

You forgot sky dancers. I loved these when I was a kid, but I had enough sense to duck if they got out of control.

In the mid 90's to early 2000's I worked at a Toys r Us in the Bronx. I remember the recalls for Polly Pocket, Aqua Dots, and a few others on this list.

My parents bought me all kinds of dangerous stuff. I had swords, ninja throwing stars, bb guns, hunting slingshots that used metal balls for ammo, etc. And even an actual hunting blowgun. Lol!

The toys that could “put an eye out” were the best toys when I was growing up….

Only heard of a few of these. I remember Polly Pocker, creepy Crawlers, easy bake oven, aqua dots seems similar to something I remember that instead of water you used an iron so an adult needed to be present while being used, they seemed to make many different kinds cabbage patch dolls back in the day(fortunately my sister just had a normal one that wasn’t mechanical), toy guns( thankfully I only owned water guns including a super soaker) and darts but this is the first time I heard of lawn darts(luckily I only had the ones for the wall).

I know a little girl, she was about 8, when she was attempting to get out of a hammock it rolled back on her. She died from being hung and her little sister found her 😭 My poor baby, she spent a lot of time in my office at school, not deal well with it. They were incredibly close. My brother had the creepy crawlers machine, in the early70's. It was all the rage for Christmas that year. I got a machine that made similar things for girls.The old ones are so much better than the new ones. They were actually squishy and rubbery but the newer ones are hard plastic. The smell and the toxins will probably kill us one day 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I remember my brother, sister, and I got Moon Shoes as a Christmas present. But they weren’t what we expected. In fact they broke very easily and didn’t bounce like in the commercial. A very unsafe and useless toy.

I never had any of these toys as a kid because they were the 'most popular' and considered expensive. I remembered going to my rich friends house and she had an easy bake oven 😂

We had Jarts in the early 80s. We set the rings up on one side of a busy street and hurled the Jarts over traffic which we then ran through to retrieve them. No parent ever stopped us. Also...don't forget that we used to get tiny cigarette lighters that really worked out of the grocery store machines...and tiny one blade knives and little gun keychains

I remember a few of these. Well, I hate the fact that these caused problems but, I hope they make more safer toys. There is a product that was out when I was a kid but, I didn’t turn out the way I thought it would. It was called floam, a slime bead thing you would put on toys or other things to decorate them for fun. Well, it wasn’t much fun, not to mention we failed to read about it needing to dry out some before use.

Had many of these toys growing up., including a chemistry set, cap guns and bottle rockets. Never got hurt by them. Sounds like we and the generations that came before us had a little better of understanding of what not to do and the actions that could lead to pain or death. My grandparents had lawn darts up until the 2000s before they threw them out, mostly because no one really played with them anymore (I wasn’t even aware that they were illegal, though I knew their danger). I remember playing with many dangerous toys and was fine. The chemistry set was fun until it no longer worked after a few years. My wood burning kit I had until adulthood then my father took it to use himself. I played with creepy crawlers and knew girls who had easy bake ovens. No one got hurt.

i played with lawn darts as a kid, we used trash can lids as shields, and just threw them.. mid 80s to mid 90s.. when men were men and women knew first aid.. heh

I remember when Polly Pocket or another company made Disney Polly Pockets! They came in reusable zipper carriers to store them in. There was Cinderella, Ariel, Belle, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, and Jasmine at that time. Mind you their cloths and shoes where made of rubber plastic. I remember sticking one of Cinderella's little shoes up my nose, got stuck, and it later came out on its own from my nose...

Moon Shoes make me immediately think of two memories. one as a kid in the 90s with my friend putting them on and immediately tripping and falling on her driveway and bleeding all over. The second as a teen in the 00s at my hs graduation when one of my classmates wore moon shoes to accept his diploma. He was much more talented on them than my friend that fell was, to be fair.

Some of these toys are great. But then, I didn't have an Easy Bake Oven, Mom taught me how to bake from our stove and safely. I think some of them are probably good not being around, but I also think sometimes the safety watch groups go a little out of control. Kids need to have fun and don't need to be in classes or tutoring lessons all day long. They need to let the steam out doing stuff.

I grew up with cap guns and modded nerf guns with a black paint job, and my younger sister had Aqua Dots and the CSI kit. we both turned out fine.

What about Sky Dancers? I heard they got recalled because they kept hitting kids in the face and damaging their eyes. I would consider that dangerous.

When I was younger god sister had an "easy bake" oven. Also, I miss the "Moon Shoes" that were bought for me back then.

At one time or another, my older brothers tried to kill me with each and every one of these.

Nobody ever mentions the fact that with regard to the Battlestar Galactica colonial viper toy, they redesigned it making it so the missile didn't fire but just went from looking pushed into popped out. I know because my neighbor had the one that fired the missile, and by the time I got mine it was one of the first that didn't actually shoot. I was a very disappointed child

The toy with actual radioactive elements is a fun topic when you find out fiestaware used uranium oxide before WWII then depleted uranium in its glazes to give vivid red orange, however radioactivity can be found in other colors.

Toys on this list I owned: Polly Pocket, Easy Bake Oven, Aqua Dots, I just had normal cabbage patch dolls, and moon shoes. And I’m here and survived them all lol. That’s why our generation is so much stronger lol. Our toys were literally trying to kill us.
