Only things to add: In "Ready Player One", Parzival uses the M41A as his personal weapon during the shootout in the dance club. I LOVED that! The only iconic weapon I think they missed in this video was the "Holy Hand Grenade" from Monty Python "The Holy Grail" AND "Ready Player One". :)

Another honorable mention: Tuco’s parts built revolver from “The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly” which sounded distinctive enough for Blondie to say, “every gun makes its own tune”.

I wouldn't put James Bond PPK so high on the list; maybe as an honorable mention or #20. Its round isn't as powerful as described in the movie where it was introduced. It was pretty concealable - a main concern for a spy - and decent firepower...at the time. Nowadays, there are plenty of models that offer the same concealability, but greater ammo capacity and power; Bond really ought to upgrade. Fun fact: Ian Fleming didn't know much about guns. At first, he gave Bond an even weaker, less effective pistol at first. It was a fan who wrote to Fleming suggesting the PPK, so that Bond would be properly armed and look more authentic (for lack of a better word).

The Lawgiver was always really cool gun as it was depicted in the movies. I like the verity of shots it has, all loaded into a single cartage. Though the ZF-1 from The Fifth Element disserves at least an honorable mention. Given we only got to see it in the demo section and never in actual combat, it sure left an impression. But there is no denying the Lightsaber disserved it's spot on this list. Its design and even its sound are incredibly iconic anymore. I gained a whole other level of appreciation for them during "The Gathering" arc in Clone Wars. The spiritual side of gathering the Kyber crystals and even building the hilt were fascinating. Just went further to show the lightsaber is not just an elegant weapon of a civilized age, but an extension of the wielder. That's why I'm so glad the one time I went to Disney World after the Star Wars acquisition, I was able to go to Savi's Workshop and build my own. It's expensive but you pay for the experience as much you do the souvenir.

The Glaive from KRULL is a good choice in my opinion. And an underrated and underused weapon at that since it was only featured in the one movie which deserves a sequel or a new retelling.👍❤️

Several of you must have skipped the opening narration. This is a list of "non superhero weapons that are hand held or can be worn." In other words, weapons that aren't necessarily character specific, or pre built in with a costume or set of gadgets designed for that same character. Batman's bat-arang is mechanically designed to perform well above a standard boomerang, so it doesn't count. Weapons like fencing swords, phasers, stun guns, light sabers, proton packs, katanas, and semi automatic laser guns have been used by multiple characters in movies. Those are the focus of the list. Plus, all non computer effects generated weapons mentioned, exist as real life weapons in the same.

Now make a list of iconic vehicles and include KITT from Knight rider, Aston Martin from Bond movies, the jeeps from Jurassic Park/Gyrorider from Jurassic World, Tie Fighters, X Wings from Star Wars, USS Enterprise from Star Trek. Now that I say them, maybe make two lists for one of a kind vehicles like KITT , DeLorean from BTTF, AM from Bond films and another list for class of vehicles like those from Star Wars and Star Trek.

If a Katana goes on this list, it would need to be the dragon-head, ivory handled Masamune Katana of Ramirez/Connor McCloud from highlander. Much more distinctive in appearance than the Hanzo katana, and with an interesting fictional history to boot. While we're on swords, Blade's sword from the original Blade trilogy, with its round handle and anti-theft device deserves mention. The last sword deserving to be on this list is the sword of Indigo Montoya from the Princess Bride, the sword, like the movie it appeared in, has no equal. Han Solo's blaster and/or the original stormtrooper blasters, though lightly modified WWII (earlier in the case of the broomhandle Mauser used for the DL-44) guns, they are never-the-less iconic, with distinct sound effects completely different from the zap-zap sounds of the ray guns that came previously. The Man With No Name's rattlesnake-embelished Colt Single Action Army from the Dollars Trilogy is as iconic as the man who weilded it. Dirty Harry's Smith & Wesson Model 29 revolver--if the gun that could blow your head clean off your shoulders doesn't belong on this list, I don't know what does. Though relegated to the back corner of the cult movie shelf, the Glaive from Krull is a unique, if impractical weapon. The Shiloh Sharps 1874 rifle from Quigley Down Under was so cool that it spurred an annual competition to replicate the 1000 yard shot from the movie that lasts to this day. If you're going to mention Ash's shotgun, then Max's VG Bentley Side by Side shotgun from Mad Max/Mad Max 2 definitely belongs on the list. Lastly, I would add the H&K MP5/Berretta 92F from Die Hard. I think there was a law that they had to use the MP5 in movies after Die Hard, and the Berretta, with its open slide became a mainstay of action films as well. As honorable mention I would put the mini-gun from Predator/Terminator 2 on the list, as well as the phase plasma pulse rifle. They just don't feature in enough screen time to qualify, IMO--though the purple plasma blasts with their distinctive sound are certainly memorable.
