How is iron man a movie theme? It was written 37 years before the movie came out. For the matter the song isn't even about the iron man super hero. I love the song but still.
It was used for the film. It's the film's theme. The song tells the story of a man who time travels into the future, and sees the apocalypse. In the process of returning to the present, he is turned into steel by a magnetic field. He is rendered mute, unable verbally to warn people of his time of the impending destruction. His attempts to communicate are ignored and mocked. This causes Iron Man to become angry, and have his revenge on mankind, causing the destruction seen in his vision
Hari K The only time the song was even played was in the credits. I wouldn't call that a theme. The iron man in the song and ironman in the movie have nothing in common one is a steel man the other is a man wearing a suit made of different metals. One time travels the other is kidnapped. The only thing in common they have is the name.
The reason the song was used was because of the similarities in the name. There's no denying it's an iconic song. Don't the other movies use the same song?
marshell lee A movie theme is a musical piece written specifically for a movie. As I said the song was written 37 years before the movie even came out. Nor is it really a theme seeing as the only time its even played is during the credits and its a bastardized version thats cut down.
A lot were missing, but thank you for including "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves" ... That soundtrack is special to me... My high school marching band played the music to this film for our show during my junior year!
My top 5 list is 5. Indiana Jones theme 4. James bond theme 3. Star wars theme 2. Game of thrones theme song 1. Lord of the rings theme (the books were better) But the best of all time imo: 0. Pirates of the Caribbean (he's a pirate)
Most of these are great but I think the James Bond theme song just fits so well in the film, like when James is in a boat chase in a river and the song comes on it's just absolute gold!
Few other inclusions i'd add: Jurassic Park (duh) Interstellar Narnia Avengers The Hobbit (the peaceful tune i can't remeber the name) Edit: just cheacked the date and some of the songs i mentioned weren't out yet oof.

Agree with Robin Hood - great theme. Other for special mention - Gone With the Wnd (best ever to my mind), Magnificent Seven, Battle of Britain, 633 Squadron (you can see I love Ron Goodwin), Taras Bulba, West Side Story. There are so many others also.
