Terminator 2 made over 30 years ago yet still has the best graphics and by far the best gun sound effects. One of the greatest action movies of all time bar none still blows my mind how great the movie was in 1991.

Collateral is a real fave of mine. We were at a multiplex watching as many films in a day as we could (1 day off a week) and we watched it having seen no trailers and not even noticing who was starring in it. We were blown away.

You missed Shooter. Mark Wahlberg's Bob Lee Swagger is a sniper, and as such he doesn't just fire willy-nilly. Unlike a lot of action movie heroes he takes the time to aim his shots properly, not just blindly fire from the hip, which usually doesn't work at anything beyond point-blank range. Long-range rifle fire takes some serious skill, and Mark portrayed it very well.

It's not just the unlimited ammo, it's the bullet-stopping doors, walls, furniture, the horrible trigger pulling, the muzzles flying around and still hitting, or the hero dodging machine guns, nobody loosing their hearing, the bodies flying backwards or being alive after being shot multiple times in the chest and the head, the unrealistic sound vs distance...
