Ganymede is the perfect definition of niche. Its not mass appealing and theres a certain level of artistry in how its blended. Its like 4 seasons but you experience them simultaneously and there are instances where 1 season is more prevalent than the other. Amazing mineral, citrus, fruity, spicy and leather accords here. This is chef's kiss!
It certainly IS mass appealing even though it should be not. I also received most compliments from this one and I rarely get compliments on scents overall.
Sample first. On my skin all I get is salt. No fruit or anything else. It literally just smells like I poured a carton of Morton salt into my hand & smelled it
Warmest February ever in Louisiana. Set record for high the other day at 84 degrees. It's 75 now and all the trees and plants are blooming early. Spring scents video makes sense!
I am so sick of wearing cold weather scents...I've already started wearing my spring scents. I've started my parfum creating venture and it's not easy but lots of fun learning ALL that goes into it. My first recipe will be for my daughter who wears straight vanilla oil. She's driving me nuts. I have over 50 other scents that she can choose...but it's always vanilla.
2 days ago it was 80° here in Maryland. Today it's flurrying. Typical Maryland spring. So I've been thinking about spring fragrances for a couple weeks now. Excited to have some more fragrance considerations! Thanks!
Some of the fragrances I'm looking forward to wearing this Spring are all recent additions to my collection. Guidance by Amouage Ella and Pink Magnolia, both by Loewe Valaya by PDM Pour Femme by Argos The Royal by Moresque Diadem by Thameen
I am so happy you included SORA DORA MANDORLE !! I have loved it since your kit inclusion! Now a discount code, a wonderful added bonus. I will keep on wearing my NISHANE HACIVAT too! It must be my skin chemistry I get compliments galore, even when I have gone agnostic to it! Tusen Tack for all the videos you make! 💙💙
It's the second--ever record level of snow here in Portland, OR. It's also crazy cold. I'm still thinking about my spring fragrance choices and aspirations, though! I've been wearing No.5 L'eau to sort of bridge the gap. I especially liked your winter freshies video from the other day.
Love Ganymede and now that the Extrait is out I'm dying to try it! Mandorle was love at first sniff and my favorite fragrance from last year, definitely top five in my collection. Still have to try Wake Up World, Paula's Ibiza Electric, Island Lush and Oolong Tea, there are others that I haven't tried but the ones I mentioned are the ones I'm more interested in. Thanks for the video Sebastian!!!
This spring I’m excited to welcome In Jorum Studio Paradisi, Miller Harris Tea Tonique as well as Penhaligons Halfeti Cedar. These three give me dry and green and a unique mix of rock dust and clean air. I’ve been so excited by throat drying greens and sweet pith notes this year!
I do own Eau Coeur and am looking forward to owning un air D’Apogee but it is backordered. I hope it arrives before Spring is over. I also have Fleur De Lolita. Nice video Sebastian and some good suggestions. Thank you!
Hi Sebastian! I truly appreciate the creativity of your videos. I’ve learned so much about fragrance from you and love your perspective. I have a request/suggestion for a video from you. I’m traveling to London and Paris this summer. I’d love a video that suggests fragrances that are exclusive to stores in European dept stores like Harrods, Selfridges, Harvey Nichols, etc. Or fragrances that are only selling in Europe like Babycat. Or maybe great stores that feature an array of niche/indie frags native to Europe that would be great to stop by and get to explore. Even suggestions on French/British houses to go to and check out their full collections (like Memo or Thameen) would be amazing. I really want to bring home some beautiful gems that I can’t get in the US.
Please do a top Spring/Summer perfumes from Frederic Malle. I only have some for cold weather POAL, Noir Espices, Promise. Can't wait for your recommend for warmer days
Such a great list, Sebastian, thank you! I have Bois Dormant, Eau Cœur, and Lavallière (all from your reviews) that I’m looking forward to wearing this Spring! Although today is cloudy and cool here, it will be getting warm really soon! Also, I can’t wait to receive my Kit #4, which was shipped today!
Yes, Guidance is a very recent addition to my collection it's 7nlije any other fragrance that I have from Amouage, which to tend to be heavy and complex. I can't wait to put my nose to Pink Me Up - it hasn't dropped yet in Dubai.
This winter was literally hot in Istanbul/Turkey. I couldnt understand. There was 1 week cold and thats it. I couldnt use any of my cold weather fragrances. 4-5 years ago There were snow storms for days. Now its spring like in middle of winter. Is it because of mediterranean weather getting warmer and going north ? Any comments from mediterranean neighbors how was your winter ?
I'm also "hunting", curious about some upcoming new fragrances, like DS & Durga's- Steamed rainbow, and Zoologist also has to release two new perfumes one of them is harvest mouse,( a gourmand)and the other is tiger ,both of them with amazing. bottles...I can't wait to try them out.
Oooo I need to try that Oolong Tea from One Day. Totally forgot about it. Ditto with Island Lush. But no tropical beach vibes huh? Interesting. I guess I should've known from the notes. 😆 Hacivat perfect for the spring furrrrrrr sure.
This is more like Fleur Narcotique but then same perfumer of Valaya. Stay tuned for my review of Valaya on Monday or Tuesday and you'll hear my comparison of FN and Valaya. I think Azora though is a beefy version of Fleur Narcotique! :)
What's the best way to preserve perfumes after opening? I have quite a few and don't always finish the bottle because I jump around between fragrances? Thank you, enjoyed your video.
Ganymede is definitely a something you shouldn't blind buy. People either love it or hate it. I've heard someone Say it smells like a new car. The guy that made it has another one that smells similar to it minus the mineral notes.
@The Perfume Guy Hi 👋 Live in the Sunnyvale area right now. I am a Travel nurse. I have worked all around the state for about 6 years. Took a contract at St Mary's Hospital. The commute is not that bad with the Fastpass. 🙂 Yep, cold and rainy here as well.
@@ThePerfumeGuy i am not complaining, i am just asking. If you want to do your reviews with your white shirt on a white background that's your choice...
I know it's my choice that's why I said stop complaining. You posted the same comment twice. If it's too much to watch then you are making the choice to watch. I suggest to stop. it's not that easy to snap a finger and change a background! The world and life are not that easy! On top of that the background is not white. It's salmon colored! :)
Hey are there any San Francisco perfume stores or companies you would recommend I check out? I'm going on a trip there soon, and I know you're based there. I know I've heard you mention a Diptyque store in San Francisco? @theperfumeguy Anyone feel free to chime in here. Thanks!
