It was the elevator finally working in the final season of The Big Bang Theory for me. I always felt that the series could not end without it happening.
The best part was that Sheldon was having a meltdown and said I can't take anymore change and then Penny gets off the elevator with that grin, classic!
After multiple rewatches, How I Met Your Mother makes sense to me. It hurts every time you see Ted and Tracey at the Inn talking about how a mother shouldn’t miss her daughters wedding
The ending made sense definitely its just the course of life and it can happen in real life. They just fucked up the entire buildup and the rushed ending in Season 8 and 9
He’s so good in everything he’s in. I very very rarely watch any show from beginning to end, but he’s been in two of them. Well, two and an half. I didn’t watch every episode of Angel. I didn’t even have a TV for the middle part.
I would have gone with this top 3: 1. Jon’s lineage is revealed 2. Hank realizes Walt is Heisenberg 3. We find out who the mother is. It all ends up being so disappointing that it can’t/shouldn’t be #1
YES!!! came on here to say this!! I still watch this episode with a huge smile on my face when she calls him Niels! also cant hear the word "orgina" with out thinking about it!
@@samuelwallace2782 I think the finale is great except for robin and ted getting together. Rewatched the show like a week ago and damn. I actually think that everything that happens in the finale makes perfect sense, except robin and ted getting together. Feels rushed tho. Thats the only other bad thing imo
The Mother's fate is foreshadowed all through the series and frankly, it was quite obvious from season one on that she had passed away. That viewers did not get the finale they expected or felt they deserved does not mean such an ending isn't great. It was awesome. Not every tale needs to have a happy ending or needs to end on a high note. Ted and Robin getting together made perfect sense. He loved her and she loved him. What more needs to be said?
I think that’s because they didn’t get together at the end? It was just part of the show. And that lame way she was just pregnant🤦♀️. I mean, we didn’t even get, well, anything. At all.
Some shows could have had multiple entries: The Office - Michael getting married, Dwight/Angela, Kevin getting fired, Michael’s return, etc... GoT - Who will sit on the throne, Dany’s death, The Wall coming down, Arya’s Red Wedding revenge, etc...
That’s what you get, when the writer gives you his final book’s outline before shooting the final season; but you aren’t allowed to use that exact ending because it would ruin the book’s sales and cost the writer millions.
@@hegluj6796 Imo it wasn`t that bad. The last few minutes ssucks badly, but the rest was fine, becasue it was about Ted and Trudy relationship. Killing her off to Teddy be with Robin was dickish move.
@@wojciechkozerski963 that’s why it was so bad. It’s so clear that the writers wrote the divorce and the death (specially the divorce) not as a way to make the story complex but just because they wanted ted to end up with robin and needed to get Fido of everything the story did during the last few seasons. Tracy’s death could’ve been great but it was done in such a terrible way that practically tells the audience how she was just another girl and Teds true love was Robin who he didn’t had any chemistry and was plainly incompatible
There's an alternate ending that doesnt include Robin, but I actually liked it. I hate that after all that waiting, we find out she's dead.. but if she wasnt, the whole point of Ted telling his kids the story wouldnt have made sense. And it allows us to rewatch the show after finishing it and findinf out the truth. Once you know about Tracy, and rewatch it, you pick up on every single hint and emotion that you didn't quite understand during the first watch of it. Like Ted imagining running to her apartment to tell her they were going to meet and fall in love because he wanted those extra days. During the first watch, we think it's just really romantic, but during the second watch, it's heartbreaking. They've been hinting Tracy was dead the entire series, not just "killed her off so he can be with Robin". Everything was planned from the start.
For me, the moment I waited for years to happen is in the series finale of The Big Bang Theory when Sheldon finally apologizes (and in public) for being such an a**hole to his friends.
I found The X-Files shortly AFTER the Millennium kiss. I never knew it existed until I’ve been re-shipping them now in my thirties lol :) I can imagine how awesome it was during the original run!
I was stoked when daphne finally found out that niles was in love with her! It was even better once they got together and started family... awww so sweet!
@@bogdantonto9286 yeah man, it’s been confirmed, that hopefully with no delays it’ll air sometime next year. It’s a limited 10 episode run. But I am still excited for it either way!
20:00 The Sesame Street/Snuffy reveal wasn't just a long-time-coming twist... the child psychologists that work with producers grew to learn that Big Bird not being believed was hard for children who may have been suffering from abuse and afraid adults wouldn't believe them.
Smithson Magazine said: "The show asked childhood development experts to help them and came up with a two-year "scheme." In the first year, Robinson explains, the cast members would learn that Big Bird could tell the difference between imaginary things and reality. Then some people would start to believe him about Snuffy, trusting Big Bird’s perception, building up to Snuffy’s reveal in its 17th season. Even that historic episode teases the audience with several missed connections, however, until Big Bird recruits Elmo to help by holding on to Snuffy’s snuffle (trunk). The show then drives home the point they wanted to make with cast member Bob McGrath telling Big Bird: "From now on, we’ll believe you whenever you tell us something." So it was two years coming but they dont talk about all the behind the scenes "scheming" here. I'm not claiming to be some crazy sesame street genius lol. I had heard the story before but I couldn't remember exact details and was curious, so I looked it up just now lol.
Ah Sesame Street, that brings back memories. My dad used to work on the set of that show, so I went on the set a few times. My dad used to be close friends with the guy who played Snuffleupagus, and the guy who played Big bird. We even went to the Snuffleupagus actor's house a few times. He had a pet rooster that attacked me. Childhood memories are special.
I’m so happy 3rd Rock From the Sun was mentioned. It was one of my favorite shows as a kid and literally still crack up while watching it. It needs more recognition 💖
Mine is Rescue from Gilligan's island it took 11 years after the last episode in 1967. It seems like it was 20 years that those castaways was stranded on that deserted Isle
Sheldon and Amy was a long time coming for me. But my personal moment was Arya and Gendry and Brien and Jaimie finally sleeping together. Especially Brien and Jaimie. That was immensely satisfying. And then it was ruined.
who A is (pretty little liars), the 100 living in peace (the 100), emily getting revenge (revenge), finding out what Mary Alice was hiding (desperate housewife) finding out Stiles real name (teen wolf)
@@moneymane9686 You should look it up, “Mr. Monk and the End.” They didn’t even get to the best part. There was a sweet little twist that brought everything to a satisfying end.
Yeah the showrunners worried that the adults on the show not believing Big Bird that Snuffy was real, would make kids think that adults in their lives would not believe them if they tried to tell them something important. That it might discourage them from telling an adult if something happened, out of fear of being dismissed like Big Bird was.
I remember when my mom wanted me to stop watching Sesame Street when I was little because she didn’t want me to believe in imaginary friends 😂😂 I think a lot of parents agreed and that’s why they made Snuffalopagus real instead of Big Birds imaginary friend
It's a shame people can't apply that same logic to Religion. The world would be a better/more advanced place without people arguing/killing over who's imaginary friend is real.
I don't care what anybody says, I love the ending to HIMYM. The motive throughout the series was that things don't always work out as you planned them, and that's exactly what happened to everybody.
For the Sesame Street thing there’s a darker reason for the reveal that they did this specifically so kids could say that they were being molested without being fear that they were making it up
Me: nothing can shock me Also me: jumps up and down when Sheldon shows off the engagement ring he bought for Amy, when Mickey comes out for Ian and when Gilbert and Anne make it after so much misunderstandings. Having said that: why’s Delena nowhere to be seen on this list? I’m also missing the will they won’t they of Stefan and Caroline. Come on guys! That was nerve wracking
Finding out who River Song is! I mean I figured that she was The Doctor's wife, ecspecially after the ending of The Big Bang, but I couldn't wait for the actual revelation to happen. Of course Moffat couldn't leave it at this since everyone was already guessing correctly so he had to make it even better. River being Amy and Rory's daughter..... I did NOT see that coming.
@@sykoiod no. He does get told that he controls the leaps and he can go home, but he doesn't believe it. He goes back to tell Al's wife that Al is still alive, but other than that, he just continues to jump and never goes home
This is a very good list. There are few other additions that would rank in the top 20. You could have easily thrown 4 more in just from Game of Thrones......the long awaited battle with the Night King.....Joffrey's Death......Ramsey's defeat and death.....Clegane Bowl....but confirmation of R+L=J was probably the best choice. Netflix's Orange is the New Black...Piper's prison release is notable.......and I swear Encore's OUTLANDER just doesnt get enough love......When Jamie finally meets his daughter Brianna....after 20 years (3 for us). But you guys actually nailed this.
"...many of you may be too young to remember..." I had to laugh at that, as I was a preschooler when I watched the very first episode. Heck, I remember when Snuffy was introduced!
Heroes/Heroes Reborn: On the very last episode of Heroes, the last one before it was canceled, Claire climbs to the top of a platform and jumps off and hits the ground in front of the news crew, revealing that people with super powers exist to the world, so no one could come after people like her or others like them again. Never, ever thought they'd continue the series to show how it changed the world after that episode, but they did in Heroes Reborn, which unfortunately also was canceled after one season, but still was great to see how Claire's jump effected society after the ending of the show Heroes.
Phoebe's premonition of the future with her daughter coming true in Charm, Ending of Supernatural, and Bones and Booth finally becoming a couple in Bones.
#8 "Kept viewers hooked" with no payoff #1 A finale that showed the mother was inconsequential and that he just wanted his kids to know he loved Robin anyway.
As amazing as it was finding out what/who the smoke monster is, the true moment I'd been waiting for in lost was discovering more about Ricardo/Richard and how the hell he ended up on the island to begin with. I know lost has its critics and sure I understand not everybody loves it as much as me but it truly is one of my fave tv shows of all time. I binge watch it all the tim, seen it countless times all the way through and even now I'm still finding out little extra bits and pieces
Way too many questions left unanswered or answered weakly in that series (i.e. the numbers). For anyone who hasn’t seen it, I just recommend not watching after “Through the Looking Glass” in s3.
Unfortunately, I guess this is dated. I thought it would be number 1. Who shot JR was about as all consuming as a cliff hanger for a TV show gets. I have never seen an episode of Dallas, but I remember the "Who shot JR" hysteria.
That scene with Ted and Tracy with Downtown Train playing in the background is perfect. Whenever the ending bums me out, i watch it and feel much better
Bones has several of these:: -- Bones and Booth Hook Up/Get Pregnant/Have a Baby/Get Married, -- Hodgins and Angela Hook Up/Break Up/Get Back together and Get Married (In Jail)/Have a Baby, -- Sweets Daisy go on and off/Daisy has Sweets' Baby (after Sweets is killed), -- Camille and Aristoo get together,/Break Up/Get Together Again/Get Engaged/Get Married.
Not a TV show, but they way Doomsday was teased in the "Death of Superman" comic book arc was awesome: at the end of a handful of issues in the lead up, there was a single page of Doomsday punching his way out of his prison, gradually making bigger dents until he was free. It was so cool and built the anticipation beautifully, especially as you could only see his fist and the bony claws.
