Kramer's racist remarks during a standup comedy show (Seinfeld), Momma dating her own daughter's rapist (Here comes Honny Boo Boo), Dad raping own daughter (Sons of Guns), Paula Deen post racial slurs (Paula Deen several cookiong shows)
Nobody will ever view Dan Schneider or his shows in the same light anymore, not after the documentary and many former child stars have spilled the beans.
After watching Quiet on Set, I think that nickelodeon needs to be shut down, all executives need to be fired, and Dan Schneider needs to turn himself in
Now he’s doing what any other coward does after their “apology” video: suing all the people who said bad things about him (both people involved in the movie and “unnamed” people who are most likely RU-vidrs)
Schneider can make as many excuses and/or play the blame game all he wants, But he has no one to blame but himself for ruining the legacies is of the his own shows, And he knows it.
I don’t think he even cares what damage he’s done. He should be in prison for the rest of his life with the likes of Weinstein and other awful people like him
@@thedevilsrockstxr2309 well maybe that documentary can put him behind bars? Idk. I think the more praise people give his shows the less likely of him going away happens.
For us older people, Bill Cosby was greatly loved LONG before he was Dr. Huxtable. He broke ground as a black man in a "good guy" role in I Spy, he had numerous comedy specials, Fat Albert, cartoons, The Bill Cosby Show, and etc. His fall left people across generations stunned and sickened, and compounded by the fact that it was a well-known "secret" that nobody did a damn thing about.
I agree! It sickens me too, especially with all the managers, agents, producers, writers, assistants, family and friends that Bill Cosby had, there is NO WAY someone didn’t know SOMETHING about Bill’s shameful behavior!!!! They never spoke up! And you can’t tell me that someone as intelligent as Camille didn’t know what he was doing behind closed doors. My heart goes out to all the victims of his predatory behavior.
My dad was absolutely floored when the allegations came to light considering he was one of many who loved his comedy routines and The Cosby Show. Since the truth has come out what a predator he is, Dad refuses to watch or listen to any of Bill’s standup or old shows
@@teariet.tekken-wolffenn5881 , I agree! There was a cute video I just watched where Mr. Rogers lead a graduating class in a rendition of “won’t you be my neighbor” and everyone was singing along. It was the best video and totally made my heart happy. 😊
Same. While I'm from Sweden and therefore never had Nickelodeon as a norm, there was times I did manage to watch one or two shows, game shakers being the only one I really somewhat watched but I definitely preferred the animated shows over it for many reasons. Despite it many of the shows are ones I recognize due to how popular they are and how they tend to pop up in top 10 videos
I’m old enough to remember when Dan Schneider was on Head of the Class, The Cosby Show was the best family dynamic on television, when Ellen was sort of funny during her stand-up routine, and when That 70’s Show was pure nostalgia and escapism. How the times have changed…. Not for the better. 😢
Those times were not better, the worst was just hidden. IT IS BETTER that it have all come out. The climate now after me too lays the ground for better culture on sets and for things to not take 25-30 yrs to come to light.
What is really irritating is when they place all the blame on Schneider. Everyone there knew what was going on, adults writing those storylines, they saw they knew and they all profited off of the pedophilia. Disgusting. They are all to blame!! If you know that's going on and say nothing you are just as terrible as the predator you are an accomplice. Despicable all of them
Disgusting for the fact that they ended up doing these things, and crazy for the fact that so many people ever considered carrying those abhorrent actions out.
@@frankieseward8667My first (and needless to say only) viewing of that movie was roughly a year after the allegations happened, and...yeah it was especially disturbing. (I barely knew anything about the movie prior to watching it, apart from how acclaimed it seemingly was)
Jeff Garlin is living proof that you shouldn't bite the hand that feeds you. I felt sorry for his costars, who had to tolerate his erratic behaviour. The CGI for Murray really wasn't convincing at all.
The feud between Alyssa Milano and the 3 others on Charmed and the feud between Megan Mullally and Debra Messing on Will & Grace. Both of these has completely tarnished the shows greatness.
Years ago, while 7th Heaven was still on, my aunt found a romance novel written by Stephen Collins at our local library. She checked it out to read out of curiosity, but she soon returned it because of its graphic and disturbing content. I read one or two pages out of curiosity, and I genuinely wish I hadn’t because the part I had the misfortune of reading contained a graphic sexual assault scene. I think of that every time I hear about the scandal because it feels like his perversity was there all along and it simply escaped most people’s attention. The novel in question was billed as “A woman rebuilds her life and finds love after a tragedy, blah blah blah” with no indicator of the graphic content. I wonder how the people who promoted the novel feel now. Edit- I wasn’t trying to say, “Oh, if writers write about certain things, they’re bad people!” I apologize if it came across that way. It’s just that learning about the things he was into made me think back on what he had written, like a “Things that make you go, ‘Hmm…’” moment.
The clip of the interview they show is also a horrible watch. He confirms one of his victims was 10yrs old and then goes on to refer to her as a woman (at 10!!) and downplay the incident. Worse is that the interviewer never challenges a word he says.
I don’t really see authors books as what they feel, believe, or think is okay in the real world. Except in this case and maybe a hand full of others. A lot of books that have graphic things in them aren’t written by bad people. Sadly those things happen in real life and it makes sense it’s in some books. For the record, I was mentally, verbally, emotionally, and a few times physical abused by a relative when I was younger among other things I don’t want to get into. So I know what it’s like to go through such things. I don’t think all writers are bad people for writing things like that. I know some do.
@@PirateLotusBoutique I wasn’t trying to say, “Oh, if writers write about certain things, they’re bad people!” I apologize if it came across that way. It’s just that learning about the things he was into made me think back on what he had written, like a “Things that make you go, ‘Hmm…’” moment. I’m sorry to hear you went through a bad time. It’s one thing to write about abuse as therapy or to bring light to the topic, but another to write about it in an exploitative way.
I still don’t believe Nickelodeon when they insisted that Zoey 101 didn’t end because of Jamie Lynn‘s teenage pregnancy. I don’t even think kids who watched the show at the time believe that.
@@maddestmike5791 There’s actually a theory saying that, but we won’t know for sure either way until A) Jamie Lynn confirms or denies it or B) a paternity test is done and the results are made public.
I definitely believed it back then; not so much now. They already had the ending planned out before she got pregnant....it even felt/seemed like a finale
I honestly thought his story was true initially, but then when the investigation began to unravel his lies it was disappointing. Jussie nearly derailed any actual victims of racial violence stories being discredited
The Duck Dynasty guy suffered no loss of his free speech rights when he was initially fired from his TV show. In the USA, free speech rights are enshrined into the First Amendment of our Constitution. The Constitution mainly protects us from our government. The Duck Dynasty guy was never arrested nor threatened with arrest for his vile speech. As long as you can spew whatever vile speech you want from a street corner in the USA, your free speech rights are not violated.
@@multitudeofidols 100% right you have freedom of speech, what you do not have is freedom of consequences from your speech. Perfect example, I was shopping at a shower say it extremely conservative Christian store, And I saw a picture of Jesus, And I joked with my friend that was with me that you know it only takes one nail for the picture it took three for the Jesus, The owners asked me to leave I said freedom of speech, they said this is a business And I have the right to remove you for your speech no matter what your freedom is. Me and my friend left because we didn't want to deal with the fuzz
I wish she'd stop mentioning inappropriate images. They're sexual images of children. It's illegal, and saying they're inappropriate just doesn't cut it
RU-vid is sensitive about saying certain things and will demonetise videos over that. I've seen so many videos that have to censor certain words because we can't be treated like adults when we're talking about serious subject matter.
@@multitudeofidolsyou’ve got it right. RU-vid loses their mind if you use foul language or use proper sexual misconduct issues. Content creators have to dance around the terms so they don’t get demonetized or even kicked off the platform
I remember watching Victorious as a teenager, and it was ruined for me when my 6 year old niece affectionately called it "The Feet Show". That's how i realized there is an ungodly amount of feet fetish content in there long before i even know what "Feet fetish" was. Wasn't surprised when Quiet on Set aired.
Good list but I actually believe #2 should be #1. Prior to the allegations and charges, The Cosby Show was still listed as one of the greatest comedies ever, the Greatest TV Dad, etc...afterward, it's not even mentioned on lists any more. Reruns were pulled, DVDs were pulled from websites, now it's only mentioned with the disclaimer "I love The Cosby Show but..." The controversies surrounding Schneider's show has only become headline news recently, even though it's been rumored/hinted for years. And all of these shows still air in reruns without mention of pulling them or banning.
Charlie Sheen was the better star then Ashton Kutcher and the show would've been better off if they ended once Charlie left instead of continuing as long as it did! Honestly it wasn't a bad show it just was too different
Police Captain in finale: It sounds like this has been going on for way too long! Jon Cryer’s character and Ashton Kutcher’s character: Yeah, we’ve heard that before!
Everyone thinks the tweet got Roseanne fired. It did. However she was given a short leash for the reboot. ABC had a zero tolerance policy toward her behavior. During the show’s initial run, she was a nightmare. John Goodman quit several times. She fired people on a whim. She forced her coked up and very green new husband, Tom Arnold on the show. So when given a second chance. ABC gave her a warning and she couldn’t help herself.
I wouldn't take that either. The entire premise of the show is rooted in weird idelologies I would have done the same thing! I won't apologize for the truth
I grew up on Cosby and his show all through the 1980s and it was one of the best shows in the world at that time. And, now knowing that since 2yrs into his marriage to his wife Camille he has been harrassing and assaulting women along with paying off a tabloid magazine to cover his daughter's struggles with drugs over his horrendous activities with multiple women in the 80s just makes me not want to watch anything he has done ever again. And in addition to forever tarnishing the legacy of THE COSBY SHOW, Cosby lost at least 40+ honors including 2 in his wife's name as a result of his evil crap. One of those lost honors was his 1999 Kennedy Center Honor. And, if the Hollywood Walk of Fame did not the legal protection of a historical landmark, then Cosby would have been stripped of his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame too.
I can now more fully understand why the Nickelodeon show "Sam and Cat" was one and done, as the behind the scenes issues went further than just money. Very darm comparisons to Jay North and 'Dennis the Menance".
I'm surprised that Mark Salling's child pornography case was the ONLY controversy that you addressed for "Glee", because you clearly neglected to mention the bullying allegations against Lea Michele! I was shocked but not totally shocked by the Dan Schneider allegations because, looking back, there are a lot of things on his shows for Nickelodeon that are sooooo cringe worthy, like the obsession with feet! And I personally think he tended to play favorites with the cast members on his shows.
I never liked Lea Michele & to eat hear how verbally abusive she was to costars is just horrendous. Yet she is still rewarded for her behavior and it doesn’t seem anyone wants to listen to those like Samantha Ware or the late Naya Riviera for telling what a diva she is
@@LucyLioness100 I admit that I've liked her less and less whenever someone speaks up about her behavior. I mean, she gave a pretty half-assed 'apology'.
I will never understand how people will go on racist and hateful rants in public, and not think that it will bite them on the ass. Roseanne wasn't canceled, it died via social suicide. I would have laughed if that stupidity didn't affect the jobs of several others. I'm just glad that they could continue without her.
if your entire character is based off what others on social media think of you, you will not survive in the real world. Rosanne does not need some leftist crap tv show anyway. Also she is still relevant, and I support her.
@@brittanycoolidge4101 I don't give a damn about social media. In the real world, actions always have consequences. It doesn't matter if she went on camera to say it or if she simply clicked on a keyboard. Hate to break it to you, but it has always been this way, regardless of political stance. Words will screw you over and she is old enough to know this. Especially when most people don't take too kindly to racism.
@@kingjamos2422 I know what she said and it was a fact. Frankly if you cannot handle someone calling you out on your bs then clearly you got some stuff to work through. All these leftist idiots thinking they know better. If it wasn’t for US on the right you guys wouldn’t have Anything and you know it. Cut the shit
I feel like I can't watch the Cosby Show anymore because of Billy Cosby. I work at my local grocery store and after Bob Saget passed away, we had a magazine cover of him that called him "America's Dad". I didn't know that Cosby had the nickname until much later, and it made me realize that they gave that nickname to Saget probably because of what Cosby did to those poor women.
Bob saget was American's Dad for The younger generation that grew up watching Full House and not the Cosby show. Every generation has their American Dad. Just like every generation has that Uncle, Mom, Aunt, etc.
I wonder if these scandals should've been on the list: .Thomas Gibson fired for aggressive attitude towards a writer- Criminal Minds .Lea Michele's bullying issues- Glee .Matt Lauer and Charlie Rose fired from their respective talk shows for sexual assault allegations- CBS this morning and Today .John K's underage relationships- Ren and Stimpy
I used to dream about being on the Ellen show so I was so disappointed to hear she was such a toxic and terrible person. Also quiet on set broke me I grew up on icarly and drake and Josh so learning the truth brought me to tears
I never watched the bill Cosby show as a kid but I do remember watching fat Albert animated tv show and he was on it. I am now getting the full scope of the situation of Bill Cosby bad reception and character. Has me rethink on rewatching the animated tv show and also the live action movie.
The irony of these scandals are being called out in an era where so many doing just as many bad things are excused for "living their own truth"! Case in point: Allison Mack should be seen as a cautionary tale of allowing any actor/actress to be in the position of a "self-insert Mary Sue". That in no way diminishes any of these examples, rather points to the fact that all of them are about abuse of power and fame.
Let's not forget that John Schneider outed himself in recent years as a right-wing knob, even getting himself in trouble recently for saying Biden should be executed. And this is the guy who played Pa Kent.
I'll never stop watching Cosby or Fresh Prince, but it's hard seeing two trailblazing actors go down due to their egos or in wills case Jadas Roseanne too. My advice keeps your opinions to yourself. Whether or not you agree with her, spouting your opinions in public is just asking to get in trouble. Double for Phil.
I don't understand why people seem to pinpoint Jada as some evil presence. She had nothing to do with the Fresh Prince series and nothing she could or is alleged to have done could ever hurt the legacy.
Will decided to go up on that stage. Leave Jada out of his public decisions, you may not understand her, or their relationship, or you don’t like her, Will has the full responsibility for that act.
I stopped watching those shows too until the owner of the RU-vid channel called Drake and Josh Superfan helped me he said Drake and Josh and kenan and kel were one of the safe ones and he also said he hadn't heard anything bad about Henry danger, danger force and game shakers and bad stuff that happened to Drake happen before Drake and Josh
Kevin Sorbo went off the alt right deep end in the last several years. So, I wouldn't hold out much hope. I've always heard good things about Lucy Lawless, though.
Typical topic for philosophical essay in school. Can the work be distinguished from the person? Very difficult because I am pretty sure that unknown from us are so many cases like that. Other than that I am always surprised by the people who are unable to distinguish an actor/actress from the character they play.
Amanda Show was my favorite ❤️ thing on tv 📺 at at that young age and now I’m deeply disturbed 😳 feeling worried about the trauma she and so many others faced.
Might be a bit different but thinking about this one. Rolf Harris was a sexual predator and a kids Tv show host especially in the 90s UK alike Animal hospital which was my entire childhood. I recently watched a documentary about him and his crimes and definitely felt traumatised
As an avid Smallville fan and admittedly having had a girl crush on her, I was absolutely gutted to learn of Allison Mack's crimes. I followed her social media and blogs religiously and to see someone I so admired rightfully torn down was gut wrenching insofar as it was unbelievable to think someone who looked so sweet faced and kind spirited could be possible of things so disgusting. She truly had everyone fooled!
Aaron McGruder's Untimely Exit The Boondocks (2005-2014) and boy that season 4 was a total shit show at least McGruder was doing Black Jesus (2014-2019) not much of an excuse but plausible
Sometimes I can tolerate Smallville without being reminded of Allison Mack's misdeeds... Chloe Sullivan remains a good person within DC Comics. Nothing will change my mind about that.
I can watch the show just fine thanks to the other talented cast members. Yes her participation hurts her character, but it doesn’t quite ruin the show for me
Allison Mack was also briefly married to Nicki Clyne from _Battlestar Galactica_ who was also in the cult. I remember being gutted when Cally was killed off. Now, it fills me with glee. Mack also recruited Kristin Kreuk, but thankfully she had the sense to get out of it.
Popular TV shows will always be tainted by horrible scandals!! Eventually, it'll get so bad that we won't want to watch TV anymore!! We'll all be resorted to playing video games and reading until our brains ooze out our ears!!!
The sheer amount of how many of these scandals are sexually based is absolutely terrifying. Purely because of how much it happens every day OUT OF THE LIMELIGHT.
I'm sorry, what Allison did was horrible but.....that's not gonna stop me from watching "Smallville" or TalkVille, the Smallville Rewatch Podcast every week
Not TV show related but music related. The band Lostprophets were a huge part of my teenage years and when everything came out about lead singer Ian Watkins (🤢🤮🤬) I cannot bring myself to listen to some of the songs that made up some of the best memories of my teens. I feel bad for the rest of the band for their ties to him and am glad they have been able to move on and continue to make music.
I will never be able to rewatch shows like Zoey 101 and Drake and Josh again after watching Quiet on Set. I brew up with the live action Nickelodeon shows, so it was a huge kick to my childhood
For all the people who are saying that the actors and the people who went through all this stuff on quiet set said are only doing this for money please LEAVE. Let me just remind you Nickelodeon owned by Paramount try to pay reminder Jennette McCurdy money to keep her mouth shut, imagine that happening to the other actors on Nickelodeon they could not speak about this until after they left Nickelodeon but not only that parents of those famous actors playing roles do not want all these allegations you know find out because they will try to punish their children any other way to make them keep their mouth shut. If you're asking how they cannot take Dan Schneider to court it's due to st(p!d California's law aka the statue of limitation/ oh it's been years ever since so I cannot sue the person or the company or anyone who done anything that was really bad to me to court because it's been years ago. Don't blame me that's what California said as someone who tried to sue my own school for stuff that I went through in middle school I cannot sue them due to oh three words actually the statues of limitations in California but not only in California in ALL 50 states. (Have to cover up st(p!d due to youtube guidelines 😒)
Not sure if this counts. but was a fan of the show "Witchblade" starring Yancy Butler. The show apparently did not get picked up for a 3rd season because of substance abuse issues with the star, to this day I can't find re-runs or any dvd's of the show
*I would watch most of these shows without associating them with these cases, why blame the shows or in other cases the music with those who make the wrong choices, I would never take those people but what they did on tv or film or music is another thing entirely*
Didn’t think I’d see them shine light on mark Schwahn, but glad they did. He doesn’t get talked about enough when it comes to his behavior, especially how he punished Dannell Ackles just for having her husband on set to look out for her. Not to mention everything with Hilary Burton
7:32 I remember hearing that at school and I felt like I had to choose between my friends and my secret (I had a crush on a boy in a different school while I had a history of girl crushes, making me bi).
Topher was good about it too, he could have easily stated the truth but chose to let it go. Now people see the cast for what it really was: bunch of judgemental bullies and freaks. I don't think they were really acting half of the time they made fun of him either.
idk abt sexual assault, but i can confirm via personal experience that ed westwick is literally j-lo level of atrociously full of himself. he yelled at my mother at the opera for not knowing him when he tried to take her seat 💀.
Glad I never watched any reality show And 17 of these shows. Watch the Duggar documentary about their church/religion. Issues with family & church are probably still happening
