I am a student from Sri Lanka and I would like to study in New York University. Can you explain how much it costs to study in that university and also the cost of living in New York?
NYU is a private university and therefore is expensive - probably around $60,000 per year. However, they are a wealthy university and offer scholarships. If you have a strong academic background with extracurricular activities that help make you stand out, that would be beneficial. You being an international student would also be a plus I feel. I encourage you to check out SUNY colleges and other private schools as well. NYU is in a very large city and busy city and it is expensive to live there. Other colleges may be more fitting. Check out University of Rochester - very large international student body and is an exceptional university. It truly is one of the best in NY and even the US
New York is generally expensive, especially if you end up living in the city. Expect to spend some amount of money like every time you go out lol. I remember going to Michigan once and being shocked that ice cream was so cheap. The cost on top of NYU tuition (if you don’t get a scholarship) could be overwhelming. I agree with the comment above, CUNY and SUNY schools are generally really nice, and you’ll probably save some money. I know that Stony Brook is pretty academically focused, and they have a train route directly to Manhattan if being close to the city is something you’re interested in.
I counted at least 6 mispronunciations - 30% smh. Baruch, Queens and Hunter are all part of CUNY - City University of NY should not be on the list as it is not an actual school. You need to do better research.
