@@michaelallen555 Yeah, established fans of his know what he's capable of. As do people like Eric Kripke that worked with him. But he's far from a household name and still largely overlooked by the wider Hollywood circles. He should be getting huge lead roles like Batman in the DCU, etc... until then, I'll still consider his true potential not entirely being utilised for the time being.
Improvised moments are what make a great show at times. No exception with Supernatural, apparently. That outtake of Jensen Ackles lip-syncing to "Eye of the Tiger" will NEVER not be awesome.
I remember when the episode aired #FightTheFairies immediately began trended on Twitter to quite a bit of confusion for members of the lgbtqia+ community unaware of the context. Lol! People were like, "Oh no, what's this about?" It was so chaotic and all from such an unscripted moment that was ironically meant to be just as confusing and chaotic in the show where the cops couldn't even figure out what hate crime Dean was supposed to be committing.
The way Jensen Ackles kept improvising also showed me how incredible Jared's acting is as he smoothly dealt with all of them. Especially the punch! Incredible acting!
My husband is on a first time watch. He's hit season 15, but every once in a while he'd tell me "well, ____ is dead" and I'd just say "for now at least". Hah.
Dean looking straight at the camera is gold. What about what Dean does that spell so he can hear animals and that one scene where the pigeon starts talking crap and then Sam clearly breaks character and starts laughing and he even apologizes to the people who around around. Also, that one episode when they hunt a ghost on a hollywood set and they're taking a tour of the film set and then the tour driver mentions gilmore girls and that if they're lucky they might see one of the show stars and then sam immediately get's worried and then bails from the tour.
Dog Dean afternoon was the one where Dean had to drink stuff and hear animals talking and then Hollywood Babylon was the one where jared and jensen too the tour bus ride . Right after he killed Madison the werewolf.
I’m a Supernatural mega fan! I’ve seen the series all the way through at least 4 times. I’ve met them at their conventions too. Some of the most humble, appreciative and sweetest people ever. And just for fun, Dean says SOB 126 times throughout the series.
@@pktmaster it does. I was thinking it would be more, but my best friend and I did a complete rewatch and I counted every time and it was 126. I wonder if the writers even know how many times it was said.
Per Eye Of The Tiger... It wasn't so much just a case of Jensen screwing around... Jared thought it would be funny to not que him (hit the roof to make him jump up in the seat), he told the director and they kept the camera and music going to see what would happen - just expecting him to sit up and look confused. What they didn't expect was for Jensen to run with it and make it the epic outtake it became.
My ex wife and I watched Supernatural religiously (ha) while we were together. The "Eye of the Tiger" outtake was always our favorite. We kept playing it over and over and laughed so hard we both almost got sick to our stomachs.
FYI the scene with Bela Talbot - The reason why Jared was laughing was because they had to redo the scene so many times and it was a difficult scene to reset so they just took the scene where Jared wasn't laughing as hard on camera XD
The eye of the tiger bit came as a result of the director and Jared conspiring to prank Jensen by having Jared miss his cue to rap on the roof, that's why the cameras were rolling and we got this gem of a moment.
Supernatural is easily on my top 10 of must watch series or movies. I was hooked from the first episode, and as a straight guy, Jensen Ackles is a handsome sob 😄 Jensen & Jared's on-screen chemistry was a dream to watch, and their interactions were awesome. We don't get to see that much these days, so big thumbs up to whoever hired & cast them in their roles, and Baby the Impala is such a beautiful addition. I doubt we'll see a series anywhere near as good as Supernatural anytime soon.
You didn't mention the scene where Sam and Dean are burning a body in a grave, and Sam is rubbing his hands over the burning corpse because it was cold out.
yes, I love these long videos on Supernatural!! also, #1 is kind of correct....Jensen did what he did because Jared didn't go to his cue and pound on the roof like he was supposed to. I think cuz Jared wanted to see what Jensen would do; and he did that master piece! lol
Outtakes/improv is what shows how great a cast/show are. When they have absolute fun working together. How many times have you heard actors say their cast is “family” but you never see fun spontaneous stuff?
The chemistry between the two boys was in-our-face noticeable from the first episode. I’ve never seen another show like it. Usually it takes a cast a few episodes or even an entire season to find their footing, to make the chemistry work. Not these two. I’m not an SPN superfan with rose colored glasses. I can criticize when needed. The boys impressed me from day one. Never seen anything like it.
I think Supernatural did a lot of things wrong or not as good after Season 5. Maybe the show overstayed its welcome by 2-3 seasons. But I highly doubt anyone really can argue against the fact that the Winchesters always carried the show with their synergy. I know it is a common phrase to state how big of a "family" everyone on set is on every show and movie, but if any two actors have the right to call themselves "brothers", its Ackles and Padalecki
It's the reason why Jenson paid himself more than Moose paid himself. Jenson was the key element to the popularity and he also directed some of the episodes. It's great that a show can't get cancelled when the stars fund the show. It was brilliant. Jenson is insane and that works for him.
Jensen lip-syncing to Eye of the Tiger repeatedly popping up on my FYP on TikTok is one of the reasons I binged the series the first time a couple Christmases ago now. lol
The “deaths” stopped breaking me After season 8. When you KNOW they can and will bring characters back to life, character deaths stop being shocking or emotional.
I was feet away from Christian Kane when they were filming the librarians at Portland State University. He was in a hallway in a science building, no big equipment, no staff… it didn’t hit me until much later. Wish it had been Jensen but I’ll settle for it lol.
Without a doubt, Jensen Ackles is the most handsome, talented, and witty actor ever. Not only is he absolutely gorgeous, but he's so talented. He can emote more with his face than most other actors try to do with dialog and fail. He is a sublime pleasure to watch. The best moment is his lip-syncing Eye of the Tiger. Gosh, I miss those guys. Thanks, Sam and Dean, for many years of great fun.
The fact that basically all the entries on this list is by Jensen, just cements the claims that he was by far the best on set and he knew his character bt heart
Great show, the CW had such great and offbeat shows that were the best on tv IMO. Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Supernatural and another of my favorites Legends of Tomorrow. Its a shame all those types of shows are now gone forever after their new ownership. Auld Lang Syne CW.
I LOVE SUPERNATURAL!! I LOVE THE WINCHESTER BROTHERS SAM AND DEAN!! DEAN/ JENSEN ARE MY FAVORITE!! CARRY ON WAYWARD SON! I CRIED WHEN SUPERNATURAL ENDED. THE LAST EPISODE WHEN DEAN DIED I DID NOT WATCHED FOR MONTHS, IT BROKE MY HEART. THANK YOU FOR SHARING THIS AWESOME VIDEO!! 😊💓 😇VS 👻👹.
I had no idea that some of the lines in Dean's death scene in the final episode were unscripted. That's so cool This is why I love Supernatural. Jared and Jensen and Misha do such an awesome job portraying Sam, Dean, and Cass. Same goes to everyone else that appeared on the show.
As a German - that was not a german accent! 😅 That was an "I try to impersonate the way H*tler talked in his speaches" accent, which is no where near the real/authentic way, a german sounds like. Neither now nor then.
