God I miss Robert Stack. He had the best voice to make the creepiest mysteries seem terrifying, and make the make the most benign seem so simple. May he rest in peace.
The Netflix version is currently in the top 10 shows in the UK at the moment, one episode, the 1969 Missouri UFO sighting, was even featured in an episode of 'Celebrity Gogglebox'.
The old school theme song creeps me out to this day. When I was a kid it scared the crap out of me. And I watched mostly Jason and freddy movies and never got scared. But that song scared me to death
Not for me. As a kid I loved that show other than the true crime segments, which I found boring. Ghosts, aliens, cryptids, urban legends, conspiracy theories... hell yes! This show was it!
That is so crazy to me. Like how in the hell do you deny her son at least part of her ashes. He claimed he never even opened the box her ashes were in. He didn't even give her son any of her stuff. Just kicked him to his bio dad and ended it all. He was creepy.
That was so sad and made me so angry. That guy doesn’t have anything of his mother’s, not even a photo if I remember, because the stepdad didn’t like him and didn’t let him back in their house since the day she went missing.
The husband was a creep. I think that she was in the house and that was why he wouldn't let the son into the house. He pretty much confessed without actually saying I killed her.
The salon owner’s husband did it. Have y’all seen the whole episode? Everybody said she wanted to leave him and that he was possessive. That man is a creep and I think he kept her in the house hence why he changed the locks and didn’t let her son in. He probably kept her there for a while and eventually killed her and disposed of her remains.
Well, he just did that little thing people do when they're lying, he looked down and back up, almost like you would shake your head,he didn't believe what he himself was saying..
@@LoudPet636 That happens alot, unfortunately. The law enforcement often knows who did it ; however, they can't prove it at all, or have very little evidence so it doesn't stand up in court.
he’s literally so creepy like who tf sleeps with aches and refuses for anyone else (especially Pistol) to have or even see the aches! i’m literally so mad and i wanna hug pistol 🥺
I would go to my grandparents house for the weekend and my grandma and I would watch all the episodes together. Unsolved mysteries gave me and grandma something to bond over as I grew up. And I’m so lucky that I still have my grandma so we can watch the new episodes.
My grandma got me into true crime via unsolved mysteries too! The music used to creep me out hard but great memories of a great woman who loved us kids so much. I'm almost 40 now and I miss her terribly. Hug your grammy tight!
I also liked the story of the church in Beatrice, Nebraska, which exploded on March 1, 1950 due to a gas leak. The choir was supposed to be there to practice but for varying reasons every member was running late, and when the church exploded no one was there, but they were all supposed to be there. It's an interesting story with a lot of details which makes the vibes even stranger.
I heard that story on another show to beyond belief fact or fiction they say everyone has an angel watching over them and judging from this story its true
Charlotte Flavell If that’s true, why do babies get abused and murdered? Why do innocent people get hurt and killed every single day? It doesn’t “prove” anything. There are plenty of incidents that would “disprove” it too if you want to look at it that way. IMO it’s all about how you perceive things along with your beliefs.
@@firstnamekaty8830 I'd like to interject that God gave us free will. The abundance of sin and lovers of self rather than God is a key factor in it too. If you want answers, pray sincerely for them. The enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy. The enemy sneaks in through the internal wounds we have and takes hold of your mind to make you doubt and have bitterness. Whatever happened in your life to cause that wound was never addressed to help the healing. Jesus can come and heal those wounds as if it was never there.
ATTENTION: For anyone who has been watching the newest edition of unsolved mysteries, one of the cases has been reopened after many years! I don’t want to spoil it for anyone who hasn’t seen it yet, but it was the episode where the man was missing after he went to a party. The FBI reopened the case saying that if anyone knows the real story of what happened, they would receive 100k
Alonzo Brooks unsettles me most. I lived an hour away from La Cygne. Everyone in the area knows the Boone family is involved with murdering that young man.
@S. G. the Boone family has a lot of sway in small town La Cygne. They have family on City Council. They're notorious for being unstable, but people are afraid of them given their power in the town. Pat and Jerry Boone absolutely had a hand in Alonzo's death. Everyone suspects them.
I once thought my high school art teacher was on an episode he looked like him down to a scar. My parents talked me out of calling in. I have tried to find the episode but have been unable to find it. This haunts me to this day.
@@kellyrobinson8157 Oh geez- That's SCARY- Maybe he's dead? What was the name of the episode? Most of the series is here on RU-vid now. If you couldn't find it here, then maybe you can find it on other streaming apps... Hopefully he's either dead or in jail.
My sister and I once saw an episode where we saw what we swore was our creepy substitute gym teacher!! I don’t remember a call in number but a mailing address. I don’t think we ever wrote in and we still talk about how we wish we did
In the newer episodes, for some reason The House of Horrors episode based in France still keeps me up at night. I'm just like I know the father did it....is he still alive? Did he take his own life after he killed his family? Did he disappear and move to another country? The episode was just too crazy.
@@lazym91 sure! But I'm pretty sure something else happened, cause a lot of people have financial problems and don't kill their families 😂 maybe those problems made him go crazy or something like that
Man, when I was a kid, "The Tallman House" segment scared the crap out of me. Nowadays it's one of my favorite segments. I love a good haunted house story, especially if the events actually happened.
The most chilling story has to be that of Charlie's Holden. He gave a man a lift that man tried to rob him but he got away. He gets home and found that man at his Home! Then his mother was murdered... El Sicko...
It was solved in 2005, turns out the man who did it was unaware it was Charlie's/his mother's house. He chose to break into it because it was the only house on the street with the lights off. So sad, that poor woman.
I do believe it was eventually solved & that the killer had no clue it was Charlies mother. That's honestly so creepy & chilling. Not only the fact of 2 members from the same family being attacked in the same night, but it being completely by coincidence...
The Rey Rivera case is the best of the new series. It's something that frustrates me because I feel that if LE had taken it seriously when it happened and served a few subpoenas, they could've actually solved it.
The Rivera case is so haunting to me. Like none of the possibilities make sense to how he got there and nobody noticed. The note and the friend are obvious clues but specifics are unnerving.
The most haunting episode for me is the one where a guy was trying to save his girlfriend and his car broke down while he was chasing the person who kidnapped her. She was never found. I can't imagine how guilty he must have felt. Such a sad story.
I was just coming here to type that exact episode!!! They literally filmed the episode in the town and on the spot where it happened. Talk about creepy!! I have always felt so bad for him over the years. It's been alleged he was a serial killer who's been connected to other deaths in Missouri. But no trace of her was ever found. I still don't get though why he didn't get part of the license plate number, I guess in the rush it didn't occur to him or he couldn't remember later. But that would have really helped.
For the case of Rey Rivera, I find it very suspicious how no one from the workplace were allowed to talk to the police about his death. It seems like a cover up to me.
Yeah, but even so, there's no logical explanation for his injuries that could've been done by humans. Unless he was taken up in a helicopter and dropped or something. His case is the weirdest I've ever heard
@@Monster12367 I know. There are so many possibilities but then you think about the injuries he sustained and the hole that was found in the Belvedere, and it ends up changing your opinion about what happened. It's just so bizarre. I still believe the company he worked for is responsible. 🤔
I appreciate the efforts of ppl who are trying to solve these mysteries and give the families some closure. The one where the kids were found on the rail tracks is very tragic as the investigating person died but could not solve the case
I've always found the reenactments hilarious. The actors' facial expressions are either too exaggerated or dead pan clueless. It's like watching those actings in infomercials. Then there's the crappy visual effects. I wish someone would compile all these. They're just so entertaining.
I love Unsolved Mysteries, the old one and the new version. I was a bit disappointed that there was only six episodes in the new series on Netflix and I hope that they have more very soon. This was a great video, I enjoyed looking back on the cases. Thanks heaps for posting this very good video. From your Aussie friend Ann xoxo 🇦🇺👏
@@cowtron2000 I kid you not .. this theme gave me a nightmare this past week .. I was so drowsy at the office because I didn't sleep from the repeated nightmares
I always loved the supernatural segments. It was fascinating to watch people explaining these weird events totally deadpan. The only show that came close to this show was the short lived sightings.
I'm surprised they didn't include the episode on Netflix where the mom supposedly killed her ex husband and then one of her daughters after the daughter went and told the cops everything! 🤷♂️
the first story the husband totally killed her! he changed the locks on the house and refused to let her son to get any belongings! an innocent man wouldn't lock out the woman's child!
The Devils Backbone episode terrified me as a kid. The Spanish monk apparition and the story of the hunter in the tree stand hearing something circling him in the middle of night always gives me the creeps.
@@bqaggie Hey you know what gets me is The Clinton Chronicles came out in 1993, & there should really really be a part 2 or at least an update. Because in the last 27 years, they have added more than triple the scandals and body count since than!
The one that got me as a child was the one about the crucifix that had it's eyes suddenly open up after it had been restored or something and the church thought it was a miracle. Yet for someone who was pretty young, it gave me nightmares the very night it came on. Still scares me to this day.
@@seanathaalexand I'm a Christian too and that's one memory that never left me of my childhood. There was another episode, not sure if it was Unsolved Mysteries, but I think it was, that the Jesus was crying tears of blood I think or clear ones. That got me good too. It might have been Jesus or a statue of his mother.
crazieanimefan1 I haven’t seen Unsolved Mysteries myself (thanks mom and dad. Now I know I missed out on a good show) but I know the story. They were tears of blood, and I think it was a statue or stain glass window of Jesus.
@@seanathaalexand You can binge it here on RU-vid or, well, I've binged it on Tubi and Roku Channel. lol I think it was a statue, I don't remember the stain glass window bit, but I do recall statue.
When I was a young teenager I loved watching Unsolved Mysteries at night in the dark and the original show with Robert Stack was my favorite one. The music was so eerie!!👍
I remember the Vampire cult thing, the biggest event that happened in Virginia Beach at the time, was all over the news and my parents and me watching this episode of Unsolved Mysteries
Oh man, Unsolved Mysteries kept me up many nights in my childhood. The original host's voice still provokes an inexplicable fear response that I can literally feel. When Dennis Farina hosted, it was a little easier to sleep at night but if I ever see it come on these days - I'm definitely watching it.
Unsolved mysteries is the only show that gives credence to possible conspiracy theories in weird and suspicious deaths, while also diving into the supernatural and true crime. Such a great show.
I remember watching Unsolved Mysteries, with my mom as a kid, & the show being total nightmare fuel for me. Especially the Resurrection Mary segment!! I never noticed just how much Robert Stack's narration added to the creepiness of many of the cases. I remember the Comedy Store segment freaking me out, pretty damn good, too. One of my all-time favorite episodes was the one about Champ, the alleged Lake Champlaign lake monster.
The salon owner one was the creepiest of the new series, simply because of how guilty and unhinged the husband seems to have been. The man quite literally admitted to sleeping with her skull, and refused to ever let her son see his mother's remains. The guy is freaky.
The murder of Rachel Timmerman is one that still chills me. You can read more about it on unsolved mysteries wiki but basically she was raped by a man named Marvin Gabrion, he had been arrested and his trial was approaching when Rachel and her daughter Shannon went missing. Rachel’s body was found about 2 weeks later in a lake wrapped in chains which had cement blocks padlocked to them. Disturbingly, according to the autopsy Rachel died by drowning, meaning she was alive when she was tossed in the lake. Her daughter Shannon has never been found but she is believed to be deceased. There were three other people connected to Marvin Gabrion who are also missing. Gabrion has been caught and sentenced to death but it’s still quite a disturbing episode
At the 3:49 mark, LIZZIE BORDEN'S father was a mean old man. He had recently with an axe/hatchet destroyed LIZZIE'S pet pigeon coop and KILLED all he beloved pigeons. I think this sent her over the edge and she killed both of her parents in a fuge state of mind.
From the original Unsolved Mysteries which I LOVED as a kid (despite it often scaring the hell out of me) the one mystery which has stuck with me for decades and decades is one about a man who claimed that he found a cave in a desert in the US, went inside (which was difficult because the entrance was very small, he was one of those crazy spelunker types that would go into crevices you had to squeeze into), and found a bunch of treasure, gold and the like. He then went and got some help. He returned with dynamite, intending to try to blast a large boulder which was the primary thing making the entrance so narrow, but the explosives just caused the boulder to shift, blocking the entrance completely. They were unable to excavate it, and the land soon got taken by the government to be used as part of a bombing range, fenced off so no one could get to it any longer. I believe that his family or someone got permission to return to the site for 1 day each year to attempt to get at the gold and such inside. No idea what happened with that, if the guy was just making it up, or if they're still going back once a year and trying to get back in.... would love to know, I have often wondered about it over the decades.
@@6hamman Its sad when they would have that many, and the year is just over halfway done. I wish that I could say that the rest of the year will get better. We can only hope.
FYI- The Unsolved Mystery cases (I think none of which have been on the show) that get me the most are: The Springfield Missing Three, Anita Knudson Murder, The Keddie Cabin Murders, The Kyron Hormon disappearance, The Amber Hagerman case (where we got the Amber Alert from), The Texas Killing Fields case, & (most of all- considering the evidence) The Delphi Murders.
My parents used to watch this when I was a kid and the very little that I was actually allowed to see or snuck in the living room to see made me so scared to sleep hahaha
