A fellow fan who understands what Love and Monsters was going for and can appreciate it, this I like to see. The biggest shock is that The Idiot's Lantern was absent from the list. Aside from the fact that it's just a naff story with a weak third act performance for The Wire (The Wire itself, not Maureen Lipman, she was fab), the subplot of the Connolly family basically ending with "You should forgive your abuser because he's family" is abhorrent.

Obviously people are fully allowed to dislike Gatwa / RTD2, there are legitimate criticisms, but there has definitely be some deliberate review bombing this series. When you look at the full list, the best episode of the series (Boom) scores 7.10 which puts it below episodes such as The Unicorn and the Wasp, Voyage of the Damned, Asylum of the Daleks and The Snowmen. Episodes like Dot and Bubble were rated worse than Dinosaurs on a Spaceship, Robot of Sherwood, The Lie of the Land, the Caretaker, The Crimson Horror (literally 0.63 higher?!). Obviously you are allowed to like the episodes mentioned and find them better than the Gatwa episodes I compared them with but to think episodes like The Crimson Horror which I've never seen anyone say anything good about (I accept confirmation bias but also is a fair observation), and very middling episodes that no one talks about (The Unicorn and the Wasp, which I really like but never see much talk about except for the poison scene) are considered a lot better than the best episodes of the series, episodes that people were talking about and had lots of praise for? It's a bit fishy. I would be really interested in seeing this list if every episode lost its 1/10 review scores. Not saying that's not a valid score to give but I feel many of Gatwa's episodes (and probably Whittaker's too) were give 1/10 without deserving it, purely by people who want to hate the show now and the ranking would be very different if you tried to account for review bombing.

How episodes like kill the moon, idiots lantern, crimson horror and nightmare in silver don't make the list suggests a bias against certain eras. If Rogue is in the top 20 worst episodes then the list is meaningless.

I feel like I would take a funny bad episode over a boring episode any day.

Rogue is just dull. I was bored after 15 minutes and checking my phone. The only time this season I got my phone out.

So many on this list I love. Love & Monsters, The Flux (2nd greatest series of em all), Timeless Children, Praxeus, even Legend of the Sea Devils is enjoyable mostly for its gorgeous visuals. Ghost Monument is such a unique wonderful episode that conveys the sense of being on an alien planet better than almost any other episode in the show's history, except for The Web Planet. In the Forest of the Night is pretty fun, Rogue is SO MUCH FUN. I used to despise Sleep No More, but tbh I love it for the same reason I love Fear Her - it's the doc and companion just vibing in a seemingly low stakes adventure... like, being able to see how Capaldi and Clara seem from an outside perspective is so so so interesting. Fear Her is amazing for so many reasons. Can You Hear Me has so many strong sides to it. Space Babies is delightful. Tbh I think people wouldn't hate Ranskoor half as much if it was set up for a finale about the Stenza. People were just used to finales being more than just yet another regular episode. Orphan 55 also is very often very enjoyable, tho it does fall apart at points. 42 is the worstest. It was only ever up from there for Chibsy. Boom was terrible. Enjoyed it on my first watch, but now there's very almost nothing I enjoy about it. Visually bland, conceptually kinda neat but it relentlessly cowers away from any of its interesting ideas. The Legend of Ruby Sunday, apart from Mel and Kate's character getting deepened, was a sheer waste of time. Tbh, Empire of Death is also kinda terrible. The only scene I enjoy is the spoon woman. The Almost People takes a great first half and does the most boring follow up possible. The scene where everyone decides that it's 'us or them' (idk, that's probably in the episode beforehand) is the exact moment when the story stops being interesting. It could be a fascinating ponderous piece of fiction, but instead it decides to run in the opposite direction. The Hungry Earth and Cold Blood also suck. The most boring 2 parter ever.

That Christmas special with Ncuti, the Gremlins in Space one, should've been on here as well. And that Matt Smith episode should've been much higher

I feel like so many people (especially on the internet) have been way too critical about the new series. The default seems to be looking for every tiny bit of negativity in the episode and making that the whole thing, when so many of them are nitpicks imo and never ruined my viewing experience and enjoyment of an episode

I dislike Jodie's era so much. Any of her episodes (apart from the weeping angels one or maybe Keblam) could be in this list due to how bland they are. If I don't like The Doctor and the companions, I can't enjoy the rest elements of those episodes. And Chibnall didn't offer us any script that could be mindblowing enough for me to pass those bad protagonists. Sleep no more, for example, is memorable and has Capaldi in it.
