I loved Halo when it came out except when the flood came into it and it just turned into a zombie game. It kind of made the story moot and boring. It would have been fine if the flood were a part of the game but it was just like filler the story between the relationship between the aliens and humans were the good part

Castlevania Lament of Innocence. It turns out Dracula was actually a person host candidate named Matthias. Really?! That's the big revelation between the feud between most of the protagonists and other clans against Dracula? And a character named Walter Bernard was never mentioned in later entries again. It just comes off as anti-climactic and rather forced. Lords of Shadow 1 does this again and payed off better than it did with Lament of Innocence.

I think one should not forget that in Fallout 3, if you send the Super Mutant, who is immune to radiation, to turn on the machine, the game still plays you off as if you were a coward... despite the fact that it is clearly the smart thing to do, as no one would die.

Just realized Arkham Asylum ended with Batman blowing a part of himself up, and the finale, Arkham Knight ended with him blowing himself up. It's like poetry, it rhymes.

Hideo Kojima in general is ahead of the times. Metal Gear Solid 2 (2001): Internet culture, fake news and information sourcing. Metal Gear Rising (2013): Emphasis in memes, modern polical mindsets and a politician that sought to "Make America Great Again." Death Stranding (2019): Disease would splinter the world, force people to quarantine, emphasize social distancing and delivery men the heroes everyone needs.

Watchmojo has a serious hate-wank for Hideo Kojima. A few months ago, they couldn't shut the fuck up about how huge of a critical failure Death Stranding was, how general audiences hated it, how it was a financial failure... Whoops. Guess they'll just go back to making fun of MGS now!

Arkham Asylum was a great game, besides the joker boss battle. I think they should have had the boss battle be physiological with joker using all his forces, slowly trying to get Batman angry enough to kill him.

Arkham City definitely had the better final boss in Clayface. It made sense for storyline purposes as well as gameplay purposes due Clayface’s regeneration ability. However, I remember initial disappointment from fans that Clayface (not the most beloved Batman villain) was the big bad in the game.

People have been misunderstanding the ending of Super Mario Bros. 2 since 1988. Here's the sequence of events: 1 - Mario had a prophetic dream about this adventure in Subcon 2 - Mario and Co. found the door to Subcon and had their adventure there 3 - Mario recalled his real-life adventure in a dream after the fact.

Far Cry 5. Normal Ending, BBRG was actually right and nuclear war starts, killing everyone. 'Good' Ending: You walk away leaving BBEG free to continue his cult's control..and them your brainwashing trigger forces you to kill all your allies. 'Secret Ending' You just walk away at the beginning and leave the BBEG cult's in control. None of these endings are satisfying, and always leave the primary antagonist winning.

ME 3, as a whole, is an ending to three games worth of stories. The genophage arc, the geth-quarian conflict, the rachni queen, all the dlc stories...they all get satisfying conclusions depending on player choice. Indeed, the journey is better than the destination.

I personally liked the Destroy ending of ME3. The Reapers destroyed. The galaxy saved and most importantly ... it was the only ending where Commander Sheppard lived. I had no issues with it.

I dunno why "Arkham Knight" is Not looked at as the best Batsy game of all time. The first two BATMAN games in the series were great. IMO, other than too much Batmobile, too many Riddler trophies, and being robbed of an epic fight with DEATHSTROKE, the games was near perfection

I'm glad Persona 5 Royal ending wasn't in this. Since I've heard many ppl saying the ending cutscene wasn't as good as the original Persona 5 ending. I did like how we got to see Joker's friends saying goodbye to him and the credits cutscenes with Joker looking at his phantom thief alter-ego in his reflection. The only thing I didn't like was Sumire having a short goodbye.

@@zozy1568 There are a couple of things about the Royal ending I dislike: First is, like you say, there is no real goodbye with your friends except the max bond goodbyes. I like in the vanilla ending that even though it’s the end they’re still together. Second: Is that Sumuri doesn’t really get a goodbye or anything. Just a cheesy one liner. Third: I absolutely HATE the Akechi teaser. He’s dead. He got his retribution. End.

For me the most frustrating part of mass effects 3 ending is that you can’t bring up you bringing peace between the geth and quarians (if you did) as a counter argument against the catalyst calming artificial and orangish life can’t coexist.

@@TheN7Spartan Indeed you need a insanely high score in ME2 otherwise either Legion or Tali will lose their loyalty. Which mean if they survive by being with Shepard against the Human Reaper finale, it still means the perfect ending for Quarians and Geth is unachievable is ME3. The Geth VI and Random Quarian that replaces them if they died will also be unloyal throughout ME3 and will not allow the perfect resolution.

How bout Far Cry 5? You go through all the trouble of taking out the Seed siblings, have Joseph Seed all but finished, and then the whole place gets nuked, all your allies are dead, and your locked in a bunker with Joseph who brags about being right. Yeah that feels satisfying

While the mechanics, sound track, and the setting was stellar, I found the characters not that compelling, and the story was rather mediocre. Certainly didn't help that the way that some characters acted made no sense. FYI, I was totally okay playing as Ellie, and the Joel thing we all knew was coming. It's just I really couldn't get into the story like the first one

@@vta2265 ok i can see why you dont like it, but i just dont see how anyone could see the story as mediocre, the parallels between antagonist and protagonist groups about trauma, redemption, forgiveness, an coping with loss was amazing, and the fact this game actually let us play as the antagonist and let us see their side of the story first hand was amazing, something no game has done before i dont think, its like abby had her own ''the last of us'' journey herself, but yea i can see why there are parts that make you not like it, but i still dont see how you can see this story as mediocre, when in comparison its far more complex than than the last of us part 1

As for Too Human’s ending... Baldur’s death was supposed to be the beginning of Ragnarok but the other Aesir decided to go against their fate and bring him back to life even though they weren’t supposed to and knew it.

Ghostbusters on NES is number 1, easily. An ending screen so horrible and hilarious that it became one of the greatest memes in the gaming community. Besides the obvious best part (“CONGLATURATION!”), even funnier is that the game frustrates the hell out of its players and still has the audacity to call itself “a great game”.

Halo 2’s ending gets too much hate. EVERYONE knew there would be a sequel. Who cares if it’s a cliffhanger ending. That’s better than tying up loose ends and then finding some convoluted way to bring them back in the fight for the next entry

Concerning the ME3 ending, the Extended Cut actually made the attempt to fix-up the ending, plus the reveal for trailer for ME4 reveals that if you go into the future installment without playing the OG trilogy, and Andromeda that the Destroy option is the canon ending.

Leave it to WatchMojo to ignore WHY the Fallout 3 ending was so bad. It's not that you died. It's that you had a SUPER MUTANT three feet away and when you originally tried to send Fawkes in, he said "I won't rob you of your destiny". Why not?! You're completely immune to radiation, so I have to go in there and just die because you don't want to? HOw stupid is that?

Damn, I'm glad to see Monkey Island 2 on the list. Even as a kid I knew the ending sucked. Thankfully MI 3 retconned that garbage. But you really should have used the original version in this video.

the reason SMB2 had a pretty bad ending is bc the SMB2 we got in the states is different from what they had in the east SMB USA (as it's called in Japan, SMB2 here) is a clone of a game called Yume Kōjō: Doki Doki Panic, just with a Mario skin on it

I think call of duty ghost should be on this list. I’m personally a fan that f the story but the ending was trash. How they ended the game off with the brother being drag away was crazy. And I could understand and even like that if only they did a sequel to explain or finish the story of the two brothers. But just leaving the game like that with no explanation was a pain. I stoped playing for a month cuz of that

I've never played Super Mario Bros 2 but I have played a Fangame online called Super Mafia Land which has an exact same ending. Yeah it was disappointing at best. They also called there enemies different names to avoid copyright so for example what we know as Shy Guy I would know it as Doodle from Super Mafia Land.

literally any ending that requires either playing on the hardest difficulties, 100% completion or doing something so convoluted nobody would think of it without a guide.....also any cliffhanger ending with little to no chance of resolution ( looking at you Golden Sun series....and Too Human...and Half-Life 2 Episode 2...and Xenoblade Chronicles X..... )

Yeah I hate when they use the "It was all a dream" ending. It can be done with correct execution but just to scrap that together only to say nothing mattered is just a waste. I also hate choices where nothing you do matters. This is why I appreciate Telltale cuz they knew how to NOT do that. Epic Mickey at least had different endings depending on what you did which after seeing these I can appreciate just a little bit more

Yeah I didn't hate ME3s ending. A little disappointed sure. Then the green ending appeared and I was like alright that's cool. There are an insane amount of choices you can make in three games. Itd be tough for them to create an ending that satisfied every choice you made. I thought it was fine. Not amazing but a fine ending.

Borderlands 3 has by far the worst ending of all time, rather it's a movie, book, song, poem, speech, relationship, police chase, date, cricket match, drug deal, idc what it is...BL3 has a worse ending.. it's so bad it makes me want to facepalm so hard that the entire universe implodes around me.

I wasn't upset that Mass effects shep trilogy had a disappointing end, cause the memories and pathes down that game from 1 to 3 will always be amazing
