Some others I thought of as someone who was a teenager in the 1970s. I turned 12 in January of 1970 after loving 1960s rock and roll as a pre-teen (thanks to some older siblings) - Hold Your Head Up - Argent (1971) - Very cool keyboard classic. Cum On Feel the Noize - Slade (1973) - the original version written and performed by Slade (my parents hated them!) Noddy Holder's piercing voice...! Eighteen - Alice Cooper (1970) - An early song by the original group that became a 1970s anthem. Riders on the Storm - The Doors (1971) - A haunting goodbye to Jim Morrison. I remember when he was alive and my parents hated him. Spaceman - Harry Nilsson (1972) - I loved this song as a young teenager in 1972.

Jackson Brown's bass player was Leland Sklar on the album with Doctor my eye. He also played bass for Phil Collins, Carol King, James Taylor and many more, too many to list. 😎👍

Great times being a kid in the 70s. I grew up in Australia so my so-called soundtrack was a little more antipodean, thankfully 😅. I had never even heard of Free Bird until a couple of years ago but I remember Sweet Home Alabama. I came up with 12 songs that are not necessarily my favourites but they bring back good memories - there are heaps of other songs that I like now but didn’t know then so I didn’t include them such as songs by Judas Priest and Black Sabbath…. I got into those bands in the 80s. These are 12 nostalgic rock songs for me: 1 You Just Like Me Cos I’m Good in Bed - Skyhooks - as a kid I thought Shirl, the lead singer, was saying ‘…Good and Bad’ 😊 Other great songs by them - Living in the 70s and Horror Movie. 2 Cum on Feel the Noize - Slade (still have the single although it’s actually my sister’s… she doesn’t know I have it). 3 Down Down - Status Quo 4 48 Crash - Suzi Quatro 5 Jailbreak - AC/DC … could have chosen It’s a Long Way to the Top. 6 Rock and Roll All Nite - Kiss (studio version - our neighbour had Dressed to Kill so that’s the version I was familiar with) 7 This Time - Dragon (great Kiwi band who made a home in Oz. Film clip - Kings Cross Sydney 👍🏽other great songs are Are You Old Enough, April Sun in Cuba and my favourite Sunshine although it’s not exactly rock 8 Darktown Strutters Ball - Ted Mulry Gang or TMG 😊 Jump in My Car is as also great 9 I Hate the Music - John Paul Young or JPY (you may know Love Is in the Air) 10 Most People I Know - Billy Thorpe and the Aztecs 11 Evie - Stevie Wright 12 Take a Long Line - The Angels

The 70's were indeed great. I agree that "Won't Get Fooled Again" is probably the greatest album closer.

Saw Eddie Money at the casino in Moncton N.B around 2013 I believe. Was a very good performance and also saw Deep Purple around the same time with Ian Gillan hoping along in a foot cast, ha ha ha it was a awesome performance also. 😎👍

As the list kept going on, I'm like, 'Yup, know that, know that, know that, know that...etc...' There were a couple I didn't know, but 99% of this I did!

Overall a very good list. It's a testament to a solid decade of good popular music. I'd have to include If You Could Read My Mind by Gordon Lightfoot, Couldn't Get it Right by the Climax Blues Band, Strawberry Letter 23 by the Brothers Johnson, Three Roses by America, Into the Mystic by Van Morrison (unless it was in there and I missed it), Clear as the Driven Snow by the Doobie Brothers, Strange Magic by ELO, The Dangerous Type by the Cars, Me I Disconnect From You by Gary Numan, How Can You Mend a Broken Heart by the Bee Gees and Beggars Day by Nazareth.

"American Pie" by Don McLean (1971) and "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" by Gordon Lightfoot (1976). I don't think they were on the list but were big hits. Also, as a fan of Emerson, Lake and Palmer "Lucky Man" from 1970 would be a personal favorite. Edit to add: "Cat's in the Cradle" by Harry Chapin (1974) would be on my list.

Nice star, child. Oh fun another list with Larrrrrrry😻 Go Bay City Rollers!; kings of Grade 2 at Roosevelt Grade School. Simpler is better both in writing and producing; todays music is a victim of overproduction/overthinking🤔

It’s funny as great as most of the songs are is also the reason people stopped listening to classic rock radio. Being it’s the “main” hits everyone tires of 😂😂

This is a rock purists list and I'm not a rock purist. Even though I love rock I liked other forms of 70s music as well. Where's the soul? Where's the good pop and country? I don't think you have a good list of 70s music without the Carpenters' Superstar , and a couple of their others, John Denver's Rocky Mountain High and Take Me Home Country Roads. ABBA belongs on this list, for SOS and Waterloo. Papa Waa A Rolling Stone from the Temptstions, That Lady, Isley Brothers, Keep On Truckin' , Eddie Kendricks, theme from Shaft, Super Fly, the list goes on and on, soul one hit wonders like Smiling Faces Sometimes Undisputed Truth, or What You See Is What You Get, from the Dramatics. Even pop one hit wonders like Gallery 's Nice to Bs With You or The Fortunes' Here Comes That Rainy Day Feeling. And you can't forget the great Neil Diamond, with Cracklin Rosie. They even left out some great 70s rock , like the Moody Blues, Raspberries, Badfinger, and Uriah Heep.

Lot of average stuff there with some much better songs missing, in my opinion. Lot of 70's artists missing while others seem to be over represented

Back in the 70's we use to play a Sweet song Larry,Fox On The Run,a good pop song but I think the band would have been bigger without all the makeup and sweetness, that was a little embarrassing,of course Paul McCartney and Wings were great and Springsteen too for awhile,Born To Run was a great album but looking back on it a little calculated, like a mixture of Rebel Without A Cause and Westside Story,Bruce tried a few things out before he finally took off,his earlier albums are him doing Bob Dylan and Van Morrison,Greetings From Ashbury Park for example is a total Van Morrison ripoff,I can't stand that album, anything to make it I guess, whatever, Bruce finally succeeded.
