Top 10 for me at the moment: 10) Shin Megami Tensei 4A 9) Devil Survivor Overclcked 8) Etrian Odyssey IV 7) Monster Hunter 4U / X 6) Fire Emblem Awakening 5) 7th Dragon 5) Pokémon USUM 4) Fire Emblem Echoes 3) Bravely Default 2) Xenoblade Chronicles 3D 1) Shin Megami Tensei IV
Nana yes, it would, games from the same franchise usually have similar, if not the same gameplay and story, if there's only one game per franchise you get a wider variety, insted the video is pretty much pokemon, fire emblem and monter hunter
Athor Maximoff it’s great that it’s only those games that way I know to buy one of them because other games aren’t good enough to be on top 25. If I just wanted suggestions of average games I would have seen a top 100 list.
The problem is, let's just imagine that, for example, fire emblem is the best franchise that has ever existed and they have releas 50 games, so every top 50 games would be a list of fire emblem games, does that mean that the rest of the games aren't goode enough? No, it means that they aren't as good as fire emblem, there are great games, as good as the ones on this list that don't make it to the top 25 just because there are many games of the same franchise.
no as good as the best games = not as good as the games that are worth being mentioned on a top 25 games list. why call it top 25 games? why not call it top 25 franchises (or whatever name you can use to name them)? why do people have to make them top 25 games when clearly they aren't? + actually I really love this list. it made it clear for me what games to play next. couldn't do that with a horrible list that names all Shin Megami Tensei games as one game.
*talking about DQ 8* "relive their family friendly adventures" oh, like the king that kept his kingdom in mourning for a whole year after the death of his wife only to then finally be able to move on after seeing her once more in a vision that we as the hero made possible? or like how dhoulmagus leaves a bloody trail throughout the world that we follow in order to execute him for his crimes? or how, after realizing his defeat, the demon bird Gemon blows himself up in an attempt to take us with him, only for him to destroy the egg and therefore kill the unborn child of the avian goddess empyrea? yeah, real kid-friendly stuff right there. just because a game has cartoonish visuals doesn't necessary mean that its for little children only.
10:08 "Collect items". Well, every other JRPG out there (that I know) has "collect items" and it isn't something that stands out, Describing Xenoblade without mentioning the story (without spoilers, just a small mention that "story is amazing") is very weird, and then without describing the game mechanics, wherein healing takes place automatically (based on a cooldown/ if you wish, healing arts). Anyway, by Xenoblade if you have a 3DS. If you have a Switch, wait for the Definitive Edition, which'll bring it to HD graphics. I promise, just a bit of patience, and it'll blow you away! 100 hours gameplay, excluding sidequests.
BR 2049 failed and I Lost hope in Humanity From your response I can tell you've never played any Monster h Hunter. I can't wait to see how many people like you jump on the bandwagon for Monster Hunter World now that it's coming to consoles.
Fire Emblem Fates is my favorite. Yeah the story blows but the gameplay is better than Awakening's. Once I got Fates I never played Awakening again. I beat Echoes once, in my opinion the worst of the three, then went back to Fates. I still play to this day.
How come Pokemon Moon has higher score than OR/AS? Moon/Sun are awfully dumbed down and simplified, the never ending cutscenes and dialogues are boring and take up more gameplay time than battling. Speaking about battles, Z moves make them too simple, your 'rival' picks a Pokemon with a type disadvantage and heals you before every showdown (remember the times when your rival always appeared in the worst spot?), HM moves are gone so you can make whatever party since you don't need to sacrifice your Pokemon and moves, which makes it less strategic. Thank you gaming industry standards for ruining the franchise - unless a game has 'Dark Souls' in the title, it cannot be too difficult or people will get too frustrated too quickly and won't bother with buying the game.
Pawlik23 Something is wrong with you. Sun/Moon has an original and new story, unlike ORAS where it's a reboot. It's the very first pokemon game that doesn't have any gym leaders and you get to defend your title as champion from various trainers you've meet on your journey, where in the others yoj just battle the same trainer. May is pretty boring in ORAS, she's always happy and she's just kinda there. While you have two rivals in the game that are interesting and have a role in the story. And removing HM is the best thing Gamefreak has done, no longer do we have to have a HM slave like bidoof and no longer do we have to stop our journey because we need to teach a move, that can't be replaced, to one of our pokemon who doesn't know how to cut a bush or swim. And have a legendary pokemon travelling with you and evolving it to Solgaleo or Lunala.
@@kosterix123 come on man give it another try, It was really a great Game! Yeah the Gameplay is nothing revolutionary But the characters and story/lore is really great. In my opinion the story and characters of Stella Glow is better than Fire Emblem awakening. Can I ask you which chapter you stop playing?
@@rjproduction486 Actually, I realized when playing SG it was the 4th entry in the series, with Luminous Arc 1+2, 3: Eyes as the predecessors, and I played LA1 until the 2nd continent then quit - I do remember vaguely something about a church chanting Protect the Light, Condemn the Dark! and not much else. Oh and it had witches as well. So I really intend to replay LA1, then 2, then 3 (a fan translation exists, it was banned in US/EU for obvious reasons) and finally play SG again also from start to finish. But currently I discovered Pokemon SS... I never liked pokemon but this one is extremely addictive. Want to dive into this one first. So yeah, I agree totally with you ♪
So Golden Sun Dark Dawn didn't make it in the top 25... I know it's quite an old game by now, but knowing that its predecessors for GBA were probably the best JRPGs at that time, well... this is quite a downfall.... Too bad because I loved the GS series
+Epic Nipple, Oh yeah, if you look closely at Pokemon's battle mechanic, the game is literally influenced by Western-RPG like Baldur's Gate, Elder Scrolls, Fallout, etc... Sorry, I just don’t consider your comment as a true comment, but a troll one.
