I realize there are many, MANY amazing coasters that I haven't ridden yet. I just got into this hobby a few years ago and am limited on travel by budget and time. As the years go on, I will update this list to include more amazing rides.
Wait a sec. I thought holding your breath increases a blackout chance. Either way, having a friend smash you in the head increases your blackout probability. Can we not just enjoy a ride without going to sleep for sections of it?
I had brain damage earlier on in life when binge riding tons and tons of intense and some rough coasters, now with really intense rides I almost always black out completely, and I get a headache on anything too rough or intense. I was so scared going on Intimidator 305 since I knew it was intense, but it was far more intense than I was expecting. I greyed out on the infamous first turn, then after a bit more of intense turns, I was completely unconscious until the last turn to the brake run. Woke up with a bruised arm, splitting headache, and was extremely dazed and just felt weird overall. Never riding that coaster ever again. Only ride I have ridden that genuinely feels like it is trying to kill you. I prefer to liken the ride experience to that of being strapped onto a rocket.
John Lorton no that’s false. In the military we are taught to do things such as hold breath; bare down; pump calves.. to help sustain proper blood circulation to brain; causing lack of oxygen (blood carries oxygen & failure for the body to get adequate blood supply to brain causes “grey out”). That’s why we compensate in those ways. And it’s much easier for this to happen if your dehydrated; have low blood sugar (maybe skipped some meals at park that day); low blood pressure (from not drinking water and dehydrated). It’s also a normal reaction to the g’s placed on the body at certain point in some rides; less and less as new rides software can mostly compensate prior to installation for this so they rarely install a ride with too much of a “high grey” out % as the GP doesn’t ride these rides as often.
I reuploaded this because I previously misidentified the manufacturer of The Beast as Dinn. Charlie Dinn led the project, but the coaster as a whole was manufactured in house. Also, for those of you who want to react to this in a video, you have my permission to use this video.
You put el toro at number 2 because you rode it in the front row, the last time I rode it, it was really bumpy, and I thought my neck was going to crack from the first drop. I recommend a rmc treatment on this ride.
I completely agree with Fury 325 being the #1 on your list. I have ridden it very many times and every time it provided a new thrill and sensation that I have never gotten with any other ride. Fury 325 is a must ride coaster.
What people don't realize is that it is expensive to fly to Cedar Point or Magic Mountain. Plus Hotels, Cars, Food, Etc. And saying he's not a real Coaster enthusiast because of that is Bull Crap. That's like being a Nascar Fan and people thinking you're a fake fan because you haven't been to the Daytona 500. It's dumb. Let him enjoy the parks he can get to and rate the coasters accordingly. After all, the title of the video is Best Coasters I'VE RIDDEN!
Cedar Point is literally on the other Half of the globe for me, no need to ride Millenium Force when i can also drive 2 hours for taron, GeForce, and so on
I'm so glad I'm not the only one who loves Cheetah Hunt! It's very underrated in my opinion, and even though I like Kumba more, it's definitely one of my favorite rides at my homepark.
I've ridden The Beast in the front seat at night, so I know exactly what you mean. That is a blast! And Diamond Back is tied on the top of my list with Millennium Force! Please put Cedar Point on your bucket list, especially with the reconstruction of Mean Streak. As rough as that ride was, I still loved it.
“Whenever I ride it I think of Van Halen’s Jump.” Well if you think of a song on Diamondback that isn’t by Pantera, then I don’t know what you’re thinking...
Same with me. I've ridden both Lightning Rod and Iron Rattler and I prefer IR mainly because the restraints didn't kill my thighs like LR did even though the latter has a more superior layout. Experience and reridability is how I rank coasters on my list even though Taylor prefers LR.
Finally Someone who respects Cheetah Hunt geez Out of the ones I’ve ridden on this list 8. Shockwave 7. Kraken 6. Kumba 5. Manta 4. New Texas Giant 3. Montu 2. Cheetah Hunt 1. Mako
+HURRICANE83 Flights to Cleveland from my area are very expensive and I haven't had the time. Also, I wanted to wait until Steel Vengeance opens next year to visit for the first time.
Flights to anywhere other then Vegas from where i live are typically over $400. Ive managed to hit CP. I have had to resort to saving money other ways. heres some tips: 1. Going solo is expensive. try to find people to go with. Splitting hotel and gas costs helps a ton. (if you need someone, feel free to hit me up) 2. Sign up for Choice privileges. Choice hotels has locations all over the place. using choice privileges will guarantee you the lowest price on the room, as well as give you points that you can put towards free nights. 3. Water cups are free at (almost) all parks. dont spend money on soda and other drinks. drink water, its good for you, and it costs nothing. 4. If renting a car, NO EXTRAS. no, you don't need the added insurance, most credit cards will cover any issues. no you don't need GPS, google maps works just as good. 5. Visit parks on week days. they are less busy, and you will not need the parks line skip pass. also research the capacity of the rides. hit low capacity rides first or last. 6. look at prices for nearby airports. if its a extra 3 to 4 hours drive, it might be worth the savings.
Theme Park Crazy hop on I90 W and drive. I live in Upstate NY, near Syracuse and cedar point is like 5 hours from me. Can't be more than 8ish for you, I'm guessing. Totally worth it.
Some of these are amazing, especially seeing as I’m used to little British theme parks. I’ve not been on may of them, but Mako and Incredible Hulk are amazing.
tbh the only British coasters that'd probably even get close to any of the lists are all at Alton Towers like... probably The Smiler, Oblivion, Galactica (Air), maybe Nemesis or Wicker Man at a push... really doubt stuff like Stealth, The Swarm, Nemesis Inferno and Saw at Thorpe Park would even come close... the other British parks are largely aimed at really young kids.
Christian Moss the big one is an ancient rattler that hurts to ride not to mention being in a dump of a park in the trashiest place in the country stuck that's still in the 80s. Blackpool Pleasure Beach has one thing it prides itself on and it's not even maintained properly.
Homie we need to get you to Kennywood! I've ridden the biggest, the fastest and the craziest but there's just something magical about riding the Thunderbolt at night that can't be described unless you do it yourself.
Great to see some love from carowinds! I live in NC and carowinds is the only park ive ever been to, I didnt realize how high our coasters would rank :)
On fury you can see the Charlotte skyline off to the left which makes for an amazing night view with the park around lit up and the skyline with it I would definitely say it's an amazing night ride
I liked and subscribed to your channel and videos. Thank you for doing them. You really need to get to Cedar point though! The coasters there are just awesome! You’ll love it!
All of them! Though the look of Top Thrill Dragster scares the crap out of me! Also, it'll take a few years for me to be able to afford to go, but I'm pretty determined....
I think you'll love Maverick at Cedar Point if you like Cheetah Hunt. I like the uniqueness of Cheetah hunt, what other coaster has a little slow figure 8 in the air?
I've ridden a lot of these. Me and my dad LOVE every single ride on this list from new england and great adventure. I love your videos and it is so cool how we love the same coasters!
The reason nobody really talks about Shockwave is since Six flags Over Texas has a lot more notable coasters than the before mentioned. Shockwave is a pretty generic design, as opposed to the Titan or the Texas Giant.
Josh C. Aw i love shockwave. I havent been on it (or any coaster, really) for like 7 years, though. It was one of my favorites along with judge Roy scream and a few others. I prefer smaller coasters that are more family friendly. I'm not into the titan or other more intense rides.
Also, I'm really surprised Texas giant wasn't on his list of worst coasters haha Edit: oh it looks like they re-tracked it. When I rode it last, it was still the original wooden track. It was super rough haha
The hulk was my first major rollercoaster too and I loved it so much that I went on it three times even tho the line was insanely long AND DOING IT IN THE DARK IS A MUST
I think you would be better served doing a top 10 rather than a top 25 list. While there is nothing wrong with just getting into riding and a limited track record, a top 25 list for you seems become repetitive, you seem to end up going back to the well at the same parks over and over again. A top 10 type list would also make for a shorter, more concise video.
I absolutely love wicked cyclone. I rode it the last day it was open as the cyclone and I have to say that the wait for it to be retracted and altered into a hybrid coaster was 600% worth it. I love Skyrush as well but we had a bad experience with it a number of years ago. About two years after it opened, we went down to Hershey and while we were on skyrush, my mom's restraints broke. She was fine but it was still terrifying for both of us to get down the initial drop and see that the only thing holding her in was the strap that clips into the harness
Im assuming you havent been to cedar point yet and im so excited for you to go for your first time. This list should change dramatically when you do so and I look forward to a full park review, reviews of all the major coasters, and an updated top 25 list. Obviously you arent obligated to do any of those, but I think theyre pretty important.
It’s very good, the launches are incredible and it’s a family coaster but possibly the best in the world. It’s slow but feels like it’s 120 mph, it’s very intense and thrilling.
Out of everything I’ve ridden, Nitro is my all time favorite followed by Superman The Ride and Wicked Cyclone! El Toro looks incredible but I didn’t get the chance to ride it because it was closed when I visited the park! Nitro, Superman, and Wicked Cyclone are all very smooth and they gave an absolutely incredible ride!
Never rode Steel Force but it sounds like Cedar Fair could borrow the restraint design for Magnum XL-200, Magnums just downright hurt your legs. Great list and great video as always, keep it up!
As someone who spent the first 20 years of my life in central CT, I spent a lot of time riding Boulder Dash at Lake Compounce. That triple up used to be brutal, I haven't been able to ride it since they retracked it. The Phobia coaster looks super fun, and Zoomerang was the first coaster with inversions that I ever rode. The Lake will always hold a special place in my heart.
Like you dude, I am a CT resident and Lake compounce is my home park and the one ride I always anticipate every time I come here is always Phobia. I’m glad they added that big of a ride into the park, like you said, I like to marathon it as well when there’s no line so it is my personal fav that I always anticipate when I go to Lake compounce
Here are my top 10! 10. Fahrenheit- HersheyPark 9. Boulder Dash- Lake Compounce 8. Kingda Ka- Six Flags Great Adventure 7. Top Thrill Dragster- Cedar Point 6. Wicked Cyclone- Six Flags New England 5. Maverick- Cedar Point 4. El Toro- Six Flags Great Adventure 3. Skyrush- HersheyPark 2. Superman: The Ride- Six Flags New England 1. Millennium Force- Cedar Point
Hulk and Dueling Dragons (sadly gone) were my first big coasters that made me fall in love with coasters. Mako, The Big One, Hulk and Dueling Dragons will forever be my favourites
I am so happy Manta was on this list. Normally SeaWorld coasters arent appreciated. It has to be one of my favorite rides. Its one of those rides you have to go on multiple times during your visit. Sadly one of the times I was on it, it broke down and I was stuck on my stomach for an uncomfortable 10 minutes. Love it anyway! Haha
Larry Marquez exactly bro smhhhh. You cannot make this list without Cedar Point. Maverick, Gatekeeper, Millennium Force, Top Thrill Dragster, Mean Streak, and Valvryn all make my list
I guess you've never been to the West Coast huh? Over here in Los Angeles, we have Six Flags Magic Mountain and it's considered the best theme park in the world. We have 19 roller coasters here, and there's one for everyone! There are some thrill rides as well, including a 415 ft drop tower named Lex Luthor: Drop of Doom! It's attached directly onto Superman, a reverse freefall coaster (415 ft). If you're lucky, you can sometimes catch them both dropping at the same time! You should most definitely come check it out!
Steel Force will always hold a special place in my heart. I rode it with my dad as a kid, then took my son on it for his first ride after my father's death. Good memories, great ride.
i used to think milleniumforce was overrated i rode it first year it came out and im an intamin fanboy although maverick is more overrated to me don’t like loops & inversions but intamin is way better Than B&M they all seem too competitive
Kevin Thompson you are wrong... sorry lol. I’m joking but i love those rides. Used to go to Cedar Point every year and those are both my favorites there
Thanks so much for putting on Steel Force and Storm Runner. These are truly the best coasters I have ever ridden. Have you bee to Bucsh Gardens Virginia. I recommend Verbolten. It has a long line, but it is totally worth it. The scenery of the line such as the vacation building and the office give you a sense of the theme of an abandoned vacation company. It is soooo fun!
I have to say I'm so glad you only do lists of rides that you have actually been on. I've looked at some peoples lists and they have RMC coasters that aren't even finished yet ranked in their top 10 rides which is completely stupid. I think this is another reason people rank the New Texas Giant so low. They just watch a video and think it looks boring. They really have no idea at all what they are talking about. NTG is an incredible ride! Very fun from beginning to end with the ejector hills all throughout.
They are all USA coasters, that is a bit disappointing, I hoped you've done more coasters in both Asia and Europe that clearly offer more than all the coasters in this top 10. Maybe something for the future? European nr one: 1- Karnan- Hansa park Germany...95° drop/ indoor hypercoaster backwards free fall hybrid... Just ask Themepark review.... it's more than amazing, it's a dream to ride this gerstlauer... not to mention its amazing theme and soundtrack. This coaster is magic... The coaster itself isn't everything, what's around it, makes it complete... and that's something that I never see in the US. It has to take you to another reality, and many coasters in Europa and Japan can do this.
+Tim Heye I haven't been outside the country. This is my personal Top 25 and I'm sure if I got outside the country, many of those coasters will get on my list.
Kari Kane as someone that has been to both: what makes MM worse is that the park itself is... Ugly and a bit run down. And it's recycles many of it's designs from other Six Flags, because a chain is gonna be a chain. CP is really beautiful and has more unique design choices that feel custom to the landscape.
What roller coasters do you recommend if I want to experience something with an inversion, but I've gotten headaches from many of the rollercoasters I've ridden that have inversions?
Fury 325 is probably the smoothest roller coaster I’ve ever ridden, the flow of speed, airtime and intensity is perfect to where you’d want to ride it again and again, and still be able to stomach a burger afterwards. The view from the top is incredible too, though I hope they work on the theming around the base of the coaster as it’s a little bland right now, just some sod grass along the entrance promenade (still mad they got rid of the old plantation house) is all they have currently. It would be cool to have some event space or smaller rides around the base, but considering most of the ride is outside the gates it think it would be difficult to make that happen. The area around Carowinds is primarily undeveloped woods or warehouses, so some landscaping could go a long way. Just my two cents.
Dude with The Beast, I really just wanted to ride it because of how legendary it is, but I was honestly super surprised. It's such a great ride. Also, Mystic Timbers. I was pretty psyched on it because I like GCI alot, but it really did blow me away, despite me thinking it was gonna be great anyway. cool to see that you put both of them on your top 25 list. They'd probably be on mine
Six flags New England is my home park too! Superman is by far my favorite coaster. No matter how many times I ride it I just can't seem to get enough of it.
Great list and there's coasters on that list that I wanna ride. You should go to Silver Dollar City in Branson, Missouri and ride Outlaw Run. It's a truly thrilling wooden coaster with an 81 degree first drop, insane airtime and 3 inversions. It's definitely a coaster you don't wanna miss out on.
Dude, you NEED Maverick and Lightning Rod in your life. Those are 2 of the greatest I've ever ridden. Such beautiful rides... Brings tears to my eyes thinking about it. Though Maverick I like more because Lightning Rod is extremely intense and will keep you from jumping right back in line after you ride it haha. You have to ride them though. They are insane!
If you ever get a chance to visit the UK, two parks I can absolutely recommend for their rollercoasters are Thorpe Park in Surrey and Alton Towers in Staffordshire. The coasters housed within are considered legendary for a reason, with some being firsts for Europe, such as the former's The Swarm, the tallest B&M Wing Coaster in Europe, or the latter's Oblivion, the first ever B&M Dive Coaster to be put into operation. Both parks are, generally, havens for what I consider great B&M and Gerstlauer designs, although some of the older rides at Thorpe Park in particular, such as Colossus and Nemesis Inferno, do feel kinda rough and uncomfortable (in particular the consecutive barrel rolls on Colossus are a nightmare for my shoulders), but within all that you do have some fantastic rides, with my favourites being the aforementioned Swarm at Thorpe Park, SAW: The Ride (a Gerstlauer Eurofighter with some wicked inversions and near-miss elements) and the legend that is The Smiler; perhaps the most well-known Gerstlauer Infinity Coaster with a record-breaking 14 inversions, a decently long ride and a mind-bending layout that seems to have you spend more time upside-down than anything. One other thing Alton Towers does is what it calls the Strong Challenge for any other rollercoaster aficionados who live nearby. The challenge is to ride the 6 main coasters at the park in one day - not necessarily in the order prescribed (Smiler, Th13teen, Rita: Queen Of Speed, Oblivion, Nemesis, Galactica), or at least take a photo at the exit of each ride and win some merch.
I rode Tatsu in the front row with my brother this summer, and the pretzel loop was super intense. The next day, I rode it in the back row with my brother and cousin (she was too scared to do the front row), the pretzel loop was one of the most intense thing on a rollercoaster I have experienced.
