Population of all the cities you have mentioned above is below 5 lakhs. Thoothukudi (Tuticorin) and Hosur are industrial cities others have not much industrial activities. For example Thanjavur (Tanjur in your spelling) has no industries at all. Tourism and agriculture are the main source of income that's very meagre.
