Engaging with books has significantly elevated my perspective on investing. True wealth isn't built through mere savings; financial freedom stems from strategic investments. I've learned that accumulating wealth hinges on making prudent investment decisions
Books have also changed my perspective on investing. Understanding that real wealth is built through strategic investments rather than mere savings is crucial. Working with an adviser has pointed me in the right direction..
This intrigues me. I've looked up financial advisors online, but finding one to connect with is a bit difficult. Do you mind if I ask for your recommendation?
Thanks, Isa! I had a lot of fun playing "guess the book" as you described each one before giving us the title! 😊 I've read a lot of these and hope to read many of the rest. Great list!
I love watching your recommendations! I just got back into reading, after watching one of your videos last week. I couldn’t believe I had not indulged in reading for pleasure for so many years! What was I thinking?! I started reading The Shadow of a Fox and I am happy to say I am in the middle of book 3!! Thank you so much!! 😊
I DNF Kaikeyi. For me its a character assassination for a beloved character Rama and somehow make the main character Marry Sue in a way that she couldn't do anything wrong. It's because all the men just inheritedly evil. I don't understand the hype at all. I am the most excited about is Sword of Kaigen in this list. A mom with a sword sounds so badass, ngl.
I really appreciate you for featuring underrated Fantasy books. "A Master of Djinn" is so much fun, I am surprised that so few people read it. Murder Mystery in a Fantasy setting + Steampunk! Also "Sistah Samurai" deserves so much more love. Great for anime fans.
Congrats on the 17k 🥳 Yay Fireborne! Yay Tainted Cup! Yay Children of Gods and Fighting Men! Yay Murder at Spindle Manor! I did not realize some of these books had so few ratings. Especially Guns, when Tchaikovsky is so famous for his sci-fi!
I have to say fireborne is leagues LEAGUES more impressive and has so much more tension than fourth wing. I think the lack of spice keeps it from being popular esp with the fourth wing crowd
YES! The beginning is a little rough but this book has the best fighting scene I've ever read and I keep thinking about some the scenes quite often to this day
Hi Isa, some of your recommendations are on my list, especially The Tainted Cup, Godkiller, ML Wang and Ken Liu books. On another note were you out in the crowds celebrating the football victory 🙂 , last year I experienced something similar for another sporting code, lovely experience
Almost all of these I've already read or are on my tbr thanks to you :D I've not heard about only 2 or 3 and I'm currently listening to Guns of the Dawn as I took on a big reorganization mission of my room and I need to listen to something to stay sane haha so far it's ok, I'm curious about the ending.
I've got one for you! Alternatural by Tobias Gavran. 15 ratings on Goodreads as soon as I post my own. Standalone about 130 pages. Non-stop action and full of witchy magic.
Now that's a cool list. I'm surprised there's so few ratings for The Grace of Kings - just goes to show how tiny a bubble Booktube and it's Discords is. To be fair, there are some more recent books on your list which would account for the lower ratings, but even so, I can't complain with the actual picks. I love the cover for Shadow of the Fox also. Do you edit your own videos, or do you have an editor? I love how well done they are compared to the low budget operation I have going 😂
Yeah, absolutely the fact that some books are "newer" can explain the lack of ratings! Still I believe most of these books are not as well known! (although it blows my mind every time that I check the ratings of Grace of Kings!) I edit them myself! I have a great friend and booktuber who edited some of my videos in the past in case you are interested!
- Sword of Kaigen and Ninth Rain are both fantastic fantasy reads. - A Master of Djinn, The Bone Shard Daughter, The Justice of Kings and Engines of Empire are all decent and worth a read. - The Grace of Kings wasn't for me. It read like a history book with an irrelevant first chapter to grab your attention attached in front. - I'm putting Godkiller, Fireborne, Tainted Cup, Clockwork Boys, Of Blood and Fire, Blood Over Bright Haven and Guns of the Dawn on my TBR.
