@@QueenOfTheDamned I took a buy out/early retirement from Delta. It was not what it use to be for me and my heart was no longer into it anymore. Jetblue is a smaller airline but I love it! We actually get to set down with our CEO's,COOs and other VPs to discuss anything on our minds about the company. I never had that at Delta. Plus our VPs do listen to our concerns which is really refreshing. Don't get me wrong, Delta is a great company, I just didn't have my heart in it.
I’m a current captain at a wholly owned regional under American. I’m greatly considering JetBlue when their app window opens and hoping for an MCO base hopefully. But will probably get stuck in NY first..I like listening to FA vids too to get their prospective. Keep em’ coming!
Yeah you have to always keep looking to see if they hired. And the training is about 4 weeks long it can change tho. People say the traning isn't hard but it's just alot to remember which I'm sure you already know. I'm customer service in SWA and I am trying to become a flight attendant too and I hope soon. Hope to see you in mdw if you ever come over. :)
I work for one of the three you mentioned. I won’t say the name... but I will say I’m also not a fan of our uniforms. I do have to say your airline is amazing to fly on. Every time I fly Jetblue I feel at home everyone is so kind!
Southwest Airlines is amazing lol. I worked for Southwest. the flight attendants are paid $$$ -they also have a Houston base for flight attendants. They only hire once a year and they get close to the same amount of applications that delta and the other major airlines do: it’s competitive! But the company culture is amazing I was there for 4 years and I *loved it*
My sister works for Delta and she is getting ready to retire. She started with Northwest and they merged with Delta. She loved Northwest so much more than Delta. She had a union with Northwest and she said they treated them better. She didn't become a flight attendant until she was 41. But it is a great way to see the world. Good luck with getting a job with Delta. She said they are hiring.
Ramona Smithson i definitely think there’s pros and cons to every airline. It was a dream of mine to be a delta FA but I would never change from where I am now. I’m almost 5 years at my current airline :)
For anyone who cares, if your working in the corporate offices for ANY carrier and want to go to Southwest, don’t. Even though they may pay more they only treat the people the guests see (ie. Ticketing Agents, Gate Agents, Flight Attendant) with respect, anywhere else in southwests offices it’s super toxic. We’ve had people who’ve gone from F/A to the offices then quit the second she had the chance to, another went from Training Scheduling to F/A and told us the difference it similar to shoe shiners in the offices to royalty as an F/A. What I’m getting at is, if you are wanting to go to southwests offices don’t, at first it seems amazing but give the excitement about a month to ware off the you’ll realize the huge mistake you made .
I am considering becoming a flight attendant, I'm 19 and I'm struggling trying to decide which airline I should apply too and how to go about it. I live in the Caribbean, I'd love to get in contact with you for more information. I have so many questions.
Of course we came in number one, and I’m not sure when this video was made but we have the top profit-sharing in the industry now, and you don’t have to be a flight attendant to work for us, people want to be a flight attendant so badly But you can do anything else for an airline and still fly the world for free whenever you feel like it..Delta also has the toughest flight attendant training in the industry, a bunch of flight attendants have come from American and some are really struggling in flight attendant training, likewise flight attendants that have left us and gone to United or American say that it’s much easier. American has better bases than we do though...Can’t lie, I don’t wanna live in Minneapolis or Detroit, I don’t want to live in Salt Lake City Utah, those are three bases that I can pretty much scratch off in the winter time, not happening 🙅🏽♂️.
American is my favorite and I pretty much only fly on them when I take the Transcon from San Francisco to New York. Miami, too. I don’t really like Southwest. Delta is my second favorite. JetBlue is my third favorite.
Cool Vid. I worked for b6 @ JFk for 10 years, took the buy out in OCt of 2017. Starting as ground ops then becoming a FA. Now Ive been with American Airlines for about 10 months and I can tell yo that you have done your research well. Right at the end of my b6 career all JB Flight Crew was assigned Union. How is it? Here at AA it is soo much better. If you ever get the opportunity to switch I would highly advise it! Good Luck on your endeavors.
Ant Date thanks love! The union has not been finalized yet. I would love to go to delta but I’m not sure if I want to start over again lol 😆 thanks for watching
haha. i feel you, losing seniority and starting over may suck but in the long run may be worth it. You just gotta do it when your ready. But Wow about the union. I still have some friends over at Jetblue and they all say its still the same. With the exception that they changed the callout points. Ohh Boyy! Working @ B6 and not habing FMLA can be a drag lol
Hello Elizabeth! Thank you for your comment. My dream is to move overseas to Europe and work as a flight attendant. I went on Aer Lingus website to apply and it said applications were closed sadly. Do you know of any other European airlines I could have a chance of working at as an English speaking American?
@@nicolleross1663 I’m honestly not sure. Maybe look into British Airways as well. I know that before you can even apply to international airlines as an American applicant you have to have whatever the minimum visa requirements are. So I’d check with the airlines you’re interested in before applying.
Hello! I would love to know how you balance being a mom and a flight attendant, I have a 5 month old baby, and would like to pursue a career as a FA but I´m afraid I´ll miss out too much! Any advice?
Karen Fernandez Rodriguez hi!! I took a year off with the perks of them giving me a year off. I didn’t want to miss her first year. But when I go back I will be working part time hours. If you have a great support system I would say go for it! You’re going to be away a lot but you’re also gonna have a lot of time off as well. Whenever I go back I’m only working when hubby is off so we don’t have to get a babysitter. :) I know alot of mommy’s who just sign up for turns and than goes home instead of laying over. But that’s honestly comes with seniority. I hope this helps
I'm interested in becoming an FA. I have a 3 yr old and a 6 month old and have very little support. How did you do this job with such a young baby? She is beautiful btw.
Hey girl. Just wondering if you ever heard back from the other airlines you mentioned? (Republic, American Eagle, United, etc) Republic was the first airline I applied to and I got an automatic no from them.
Hi Kelly! I think I did get an interview from them and I was late to the interview and never got a chance to re-do it. But everything happens for a reason. Keep trying and don’t give up! It took me two years :) have you updated your resume?
D I know for sure American has a hub there. Jetblue also has a hub in Fort Lauderdale. You might not get your choice right away but eventually you will :)
I have an interview with American Airlines in January 2020. I am a seasoned Mechanic with a Degree; I applied twice. I was sent email on my first application attempt about my status being elevated to the next level of consideration. Rventually I received another email from American Airlines about them rejecting me. Months after my 2nd application attempt I was finally invited to an in person interview at DFW. I am currently working and I will make the appropriate accommodations to make it out to this interview. Wish me luck. -TX
SFO is not a base of AA, I work for aa not as a FA but when I was in their training center I notice the training for being flight attendant was really really tough. Great video btw and I would like to know more about FA trainings if you could make a video about that 🙊
of course SFO is a base for AA... and I will add that PHX, CLT and PHL are also bases for AA since they merged with US airways. Finally the starting pay with AA is $30.35
I want to be a flight attendant. I’ve been debating it for over a year. I will definitely try and apply to those airlines as well. I am afraid of the American Airlines training, I’ve also heard that’s it’s really hard !
I love watching your vlogs!! 💙 I'm actually AO based in Boston and thought about going In-flight after my 1 year anniversary. Do you have any tips/advice on what it's like during the F2F Interviews and Training?
Stephanie C thanks for watching ❤️ honestly I would say is just be yourself and be confident! Show your real world experience and dress to impress! Pretty much Look nice and put together. Training is tough but if you study you’ll be totally fine! Just have fun and make the most of it because time flys by!! Good luck 👍🏼 I love Boston flights by the way lol they were honestly my favorite route.
I just discovered your channel and now I'm binge watching all your videos! I love your personality and little miss Primrose is precious! Could you talk specifically about the different maternity leave policies of some of your favorite airlines (if its not just regulated across the board)? Its a weird question that idk if you can talk about but its something that's really important to me.
Annie J every airline is different! My airline I was able to take a whole year off and still keep my job. You also still have to do recurrent training every year even if it’s during your maternity leave. Should I make a video surrounding maternity leave ?
As a DL FA, I will tell you DO NOT dress like a FA for your F2F or video interview. Dress business formal. Suit and tie for men, business dress or pants suit for women. I literally saw a HR rep at my group interview laugh at the way one interviewee was dressed because she wore a tied red scarf around her neck and navy blue dress to the interview.
TheAlekinz what I mean by dress like a FA is look put together not necessarily wear a scarf! Of course wear business formal. It’s all in the preference for that hr rep. If you look sloppy you’re not gonna the job. That’s what I was trying to put across.
@@PrimroseParis yeah I guess not haha. I had an interview, then it was postponed 3 weeks, then they told me it was unavailable. But now I work for Envoy!
Jade Grobler awww!! How tall are you? What airline.. I have friends all over maybe I can ask. :) but I believe the basic requirement is to do a reach test is 6ft. So pretty much you have to stand with no heels and reach up with your arms to 6ft
joshua lol !! My dream was to work for delta. My airline is also really great. There’s pros and cons to every airline... I always tell everyone to do their own research
Wow... They baby it's cute and all, but I wish you could have let her out. 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ I was really interested in this content. If I wanted to watch babies videos, I would have searched "cute baby videos", or something along those lines... 🤷🏻♀️
