Hi Wiley, what's the best boat show to attend if I want to get onboard various 50'-55' new sailing cats? I just attended the Ft Lauderdale Boat Show and even though it was very impressive, the whole show had 3 sailboats and only one was a cat(Excess 11). Thanks for your time!
Miami or Annapolis are you best bet. Another option is to reach out to a broker you'd like to work with, and have them show you boats in a private setting to help facilitate that. Dro me an email. Wiley@CatamaranCentral.com
Hey Wiley, do you have an opinion (maybe you've covered this previously?) on the bulkheads failing on a certain brand of Catamaran? Dont want to get into brand bashing but would value your opinion - is it limited to just a few models? or just a production run? or it a common problem? has the manufacturer recognised the issue and applied fixes? any thoughts?
The Lagoon 450 is the model with the issue. I personally think the reenforcement kit is more than adequate, and personaly would sail a 450 offshore. At the end of the day if there is a concern for a buyer then the 450 isn't the boat for them... If you track sales data on the 450 you'll see no decrease in valution compared to competing makes/models in her classs.
The O'Kelly's are still looking for a little better deal. Lol. I'm beginning to think they aren't really that interested in a boat. All 3 of these would work .
