Regarding my pronounciation: Yep, 'Bee Em Vee' is the typical German pronouciation of this brand (since it's a German company as well). :) I've never heard of the term 'Ein Weg' for one-way streets, though. May I ask you in which city / area you came across that term?

People care for them, as far as there is enough space for parking. If it's getting harder to find a spot, people are more likely to just accept a punishment.

Usually turning right on a red traffic light is NOT allowed. Exception1 : when a small sign with a green arrow pointing right is afixed to the street light in question. In that case you still have to allow pedestrians to cross first, then slowly inch your way to the solid line at the intersection, check the traffic, and then you may turn off to the right. Exception 2: in very rare cases traffic cops still regulate the flow of traffic even with working street lights. In that case the signs and indications of the traffic cops ALWAYS have precedence over any street lights or signs. But this should be a very, Very, VERY rare occurence. Literally, I have never personally seen this configuration of working street lights AND traffic cops on the same crossing. Yeah, I have seen traffic cops during very exceptional traffic jams, or when an accident occured, or some-such. But never the combination of both. Under no other circumstances is turning right on a red street light allowed.
There exist more variants, you can also have a "splitted" street, thats means if you want to turn right you get your own lane splitted trough a sidewalk and there is just a traffic light with red, if there is no light you can drive but if you see the red arrow you must stop
I love learning about German rules as it is so different here than in the UK where I lived for many many many years, mind you learning them here is also important as I have my German driving test in 3 weeks time and have almost completed my lessons lol. I have learnt a few funny things though that are still actually real but light hearted compared to the others. If you park a caravan in a designated spot then the maximum you can leave it there is two weeks, however on the last minute of the second week you can move it 2 inches forward or backward and reset the 2 weeks, you can do this for how ever long you wish by moving it back n forth as little as you like so long as it moved and keep the caravan parked there forever. This is why many traffic control people will place markers under the wheels of such parked vehicles, to try and see if they have been moved within the allowed time or they have broken the rule and been parked for to long. The funniest law though I have learnt which is real but nothing to do with parking, on a horse only bridal path with a blue sign showing a horse a rider, you are not allowed to drive, walk or ride etc and it is only for horses and riders, HOWEVER, if you crawl on your hands and knees then you can crawl through the bridal way, or you can even carry somebody on your back and you will be considered a horse with rider, you laugh ok but this is a fact and real lol
Weeeell, that's a bit problematic. Smaller infractions, i.e. parking fines, may be adjusted by the local county or city. Other fines like speeding tickets are regulated nation wide. So, in fact its a bit of a case by case situation. While the fines are usually determined by the Bußgeldkatalog (fines catalogue) the application can be a bit difficult to understand. Rules and laws in Germany do tend to be a bit overcomplicated ;-) That's where the leeway for the local administration comes in. Some counties (Gemeinden) are notoriously strict, others way more relaxed. For example while I lived in Düsseldorf, a fair sized city in north-west Germany, I saw a car parked on the Kontaktschleife (the pressure indicator strip which makes the street light switch on demand) in a side street for a total of 14 (!) days without being towed. I checked because I placed an empty matchbox under the front right wheel, and every day I passed the car on my way to work. While in Stuttgart I once was fined for NOT placing my Parkscheibe/parking disc behind my windshield in a readable way, while I was in a store for a total of 10 minutes. Yes, I had set the time, and placed it behind my windshield, but I had accidentally flipped it over when chucking it back in my car.
