@@rokotrstenjak1895 Kyrie has such a complete game offensively. Spot up shooting, off the dribble, driving to the basket, off ball cuts. He’s the perfect guard fit for luka to help carry the offense. I agree that the Mavs need better bigs but Kyrie would help luka tremendously. Just because they’re both ball dominant players doesn’t mean they won’t be able to adjust to each other

They would keep russ at home. Lakers paid off most of the 47mil and nets get picks on top of an expiring contract...instead of just an expiring contract in irving. So obviously its a huge win for the nets

@@sharifnasser7635 if they want to compete, an expiring contract does absolutely zero for them. One is an all-star starter for the rest of this year, one is a mediocre player. Picks or no picks, it doesn't make any sense for the Nets lol

@Dylan B Pimentel the picks are worth a lot. Nets need them. I do think it would be a 3 team trade in order for nets to get playing pieces as well. The upside for nets is basically keeping the bad expiring contract and getting picks for it. Just like any other team. Thing is Lakers don't want to give those picks up. They never have

@@sharifnasser7635 the Nets don’t need picks. They get no benefit from rebuilding now while they have KD on the roster. They don’t have their own picks anyway. Their best option is to keep him if that’s the offer and try for a chip, then let him walk if the relationship has soured that far. Then they can move on from KD. Can’t waste a half year of KD for two picks that don’t help if KD stays.

Lebron will have retired or will be elsewhere, kyrie could resign and still not be there by the time they come around, AD will be gone, and they will have not had a decent first round pick for a decade. That’s likely two top 5 or 10 picks in 5 years like that’s kinda a nice deal for some guys who you’d prolly get rid of anyways
