5:04 I work at ADT and I can tell you the day Apple makes an alarm system with cameras (that can also be monitored) is the day ADT will be worried. Apple has a huge following of people who will buy anything that they sell. And they usually make those things very well.
It is surprising Apple hasn’t publicly pursued any housing security systems. I’m sure they pull their Apple ecosystem and have special chips that talk to every device you own
Bring back the AirPort! It’s so simple and easy to use. I kinda just bought one at a flea market as a backup but I was so surprised how quickly I was able to set it up.
Also. Idea for Apple TV: Wireless HDMI integrated. This would be done by plugging a device into the 3rd party HDMI port and connecting it to a particular channel on the tv so it’s only linked to that one device. It would use a signal with wifi 7 which could theoretically run 4k-120 or 8k-60. Like hdmi 2.1
They should get in the market of, good repairing services, upgradable hardware and opening their software platform to third party developers (if, you know, that really want their stuff to last long and pollute less).
Got a Samsung TV 3 years ago. To set it up, I needed to download an app, create a Samsung account, connect it to WiFi, wait for software to update etc... Took around 45 mins. An Apple TV (not just small box) would be a great idea where you just turn it on and done!
Problem is the software will always need to be updated. If you want everything to work smoothly with AppleOS. And to do that you need an account so you can accept terms and conditions.
Definitely a new Airport. I am still using the last one they had before they discontinued it, but it is Wifi 5, and we are on Wifi 7 now with Wifi 8 due to come out later this year.
You can set it up to run on another network. I have my 2011 airport plugged in via ether to a modern mesh wifi hub, and it works great. Took a little figuring to get it set up correctly, but no issues since
10:59 Smart Banking… that’s what Apple need to get into next. Turn Apple Cash into a legit bank by partnering with either Discover/Capital One, AMEX or even Goldman Sachs. That’s the biggest thing they are missing.
Apple TV makes sense if they have make the best TV on the market , integrating Apple TV, Spatial Audio, and visionOS But I don’t see how Apple makes a TV panel better than everyone else. They aren’t a display panel company. LG/Samsung makes cutting edge panel tech. Without an adv, doesn’t seem to make sense.
They’d just use a Samsung or LG panel and tune it and have better processing. Sony uses LG panels and u think even Samsung panels but their tvs has better picture processing and more caliberated
@@RossMKF1hence Apple TV will not have any advantage in display quality As you can see from Apple monitors, they have the best quality display on the market in its class. No AIO computer have better display than iMac No laptop has a better overall display than MBP No 5k27 display monitor have the same display and construction quality as Mac Studio Display … I don’t see any advantage Apple has on the TV front … yet
@@TailosiveTech They would inevitably insist on cutting any meaningful android support from the vehicle and making the iphone your key. Right to repair vision would be diluted at best. Not opposed to a iphone being a key (as an option) but those interested in right to repair are also often those that customize their phones and that means android.
In my opinion, when Elon Musk met Tim Cook to discuss Twitter advertising after his threat to make a phone, i’m pretty sure he walked out with the guarantee that Apple will not touch cars beyond CarPlay and that Tesla will not touch phones.
I truly hope Apple considers developing a revolutionary hearing aid solution. Being deaf in my left ear makes it challenging to enjoy music with only one earbud. It would be wonderful if Apple could find a way to address this issue. Imagine the EarPod charging case for the hearing aid too 😍
I’m not an expert in the field of hearing aids, but doesn’t Apple essentially make hearing aids with their AirPods? They can make outside sounds louder. Maybe it’s something you haven’t come across yet, might check it out if you haven’t
For many years I’ve thought about Apple making a physical TV. I even mentioned in one of Drew's live steam comments several years ago. I don’t remember which one.
@@starmanxvi All printers are a finicky pain in the @ss with inevitable stupid physical issues. Apple does not want that aggravation associated with their brand even if they do everything they can to avoid it.
Apple should consider the following 1) apple soundbar/ sound system . They make home pods why not go all the way . Make it $700. It would sell . 2) apple console. If it’s $300 people Would flock for it , as long as it’s not more than $ 600 it would work . That last apple video game was really expensive That’s why it flopped . 3) apple should make an apple MacBook se for $700 it would sell like hot cakes .
I do have to disagree with Apple buying Aptera. Would be a cool concept, but one of the key aspects of Aptera is Right to Repair. Apple is the antithesis of this. I LOVE that Aptera is Right to Repair and I hope this NEVER goes away.
Apple is trying to incorporate more right to repair aspects into their product design every year. Aptera would be an instant boost for their R2R goals.
Airport never took off because there’s no money if NAS backups. Apple makes WAAAAY more money with iCloud storage 99% of population requires only iCloud storage. Apps can be re-downloaded from App Store, iCloud backup, Apple Photos complete the loop If you have custom app or is a power user, you are in the minority and you will find the cheapest way to backup your system on your own and knows what you are doing and don’t need Apple to help you.
The idea of Aptera + Apple is obviously unlikely but would also inevitably pollute the right to repair stance. Apple would either dilute that aspect of the vehicle and/or cut out any android support. Most people interested in right to repair use android because they also want customization and choice (areas that Apple fails in given their "just works" in our ecosystem approach). I will personally never run an iphone as I find android customization and features far more compelling; my experience with iphones is usually problem solving / reinstalling them which goes to show they are not as intuitive and reliable as they claim for my wife or parents.
I remember being a kid in elementary school in the 2000’s and seeing those Apple Airports with wires plugged into them on the walls and all over the school.
Hey Drew just wondering if you can do me a favour if possible. Peacock is showing a wrestling documentary called Bray Wyatt becoming immortal and I don’t get it. Is it possible if you can record it and send me the file please. It’s on April 1
BRING BACK IWORK. Creating websites was such a precursor to squarespace. Apple would be making a boatload if they never discontinued it. They would be collecting payments from the sites and from sales of products on these sites. Bring website builder and bring iDVD back so we can host videos on Apple TV instead of physical media.
I agree if Apple can make an Aptera like car with daily commute mileage all solar/quick charge small lithium battery … Maybe there’s a market. But think it’s too niche. Not big enough of a market for Apple to chase
why would apple cannibalize a product that is already on the market and selling well. Especially when they already put the R&D into it? Not like it''s a car or anything. Plus, they would have to compete with other already established brands like oh idk Samsung. I don't think it would be an easy sell. That's just me though.
Apple could provide the hardware (chips) and software to TV and car manufacturers for their software experience like Carplay but leave the rest up to the manufacturers.
I think the Apple TV has real potential for gaming if Apple applied themselves. Apple has been pushing for gaming on Mac however the computer market has primarily stabilized on windows with Linux gaining some ground but still lagging behind with Mac in 3rd place however the console market I think has more room for disruption especially if they price a “Apple TV Pro” to be competitive with the other market dominators (Sony and Microsoft). The console market matches Apple’s philosophy of ease of use more than the desktop market and a side benefit can be that developers creating for a Apple Console would be more incentivized to release a Mac version as a majority of the work with things like the Metal API and using other Apple API’s would have already been completed so it would be more fine tuning that major revisions. Right now there is a few games through Apple Arcade that can run on the Apple TV but not really any major games. I’m picturing a forth gen Apple TV 4K with the A17 pro to keep the low prices and an Apple TV Pro with an M3 for the gaming market, both chips have proved themselves to be powerful yet power efficient so they could have a competing console at a fraction of the size of their competitors and potentially even a fraction of the cost.
I know they're trying to move past the "i" branding as much as possible, but it would be severely missing a trick if they didn't build a gaming machine & call it the "iCon"...
Regarding these 3 suggestions: I never understood why Apple discontinued their networking gear in the first place - all their routers worked very well for the average consumer and this should certainly be the hub for the smart home. As for the TV, the problem has always been price, as they would be competing with so many other vendors who make high quality sets for relatively little money, Sure, they could add Apple silicon and software, which would make the TV much more functional, but it would add a lot to the price. Having said all this, I certainly hope they do enter the TV space. As for the car, I think they face an uphill battle getting their latest version of Carplay software into new vehicles and have fallen far behind Android. However, I would be very surprised if they entered into any sort of deal for an Apple car - that's a very expensive and risky endeavor.
I want the Aptera soooo bad but I don't want to have to buy an iPhone to own it. They probably wouldn't let me lock the doors or something cause I'm on android. Hard no vote on Apple buying Aptera.
Would definitely buy a nice WiFi 7 apple router or mesh system. 😌. (Given that it it supports 4x4 Mu-MIMO on every frequency band and MLO and those things at a minimum. )
But I don’t really think Apple should or could compete with TV and car manufacturers. They have much more experience in that area and much more focus. It’s not easy for a single company to focus on many different areas and be the best at all of them.
Apple will not enter the car market. It is a TERRIBLE idea, and would be a serious reputational and brand risk if something went wrong with the cars, with minor rewards for a company as large as Apple.
