Natalia talks about three places you can’t miss on your next trip to Colombia.
At Dreaming Spanish, you will learn Spanish the way you learned your native language, namely, through immersion. Simply start watching content at a level that is comprehensible to you, and gradually work your way towards more and more advanced videos.
As researchers like Dr. Stephen Krashen have shown over the past 40+ years, receiving comprehensible input, that is, messages that you can understand in the target language, is what actually results in language acquisition.
By listening to our stories, cultural expositions, conversations and games, you will get used to real Spanish as it's used in context, and develop a native-like intuition for the grammar and the vocabulary, together with a clear pronunciation.
Experience the language. Become the language.

I think having Natalia make videos for DS (being a DS premium member myself) would be of great benefit. Personally, I really like her Colombian accent and her presentation in this video. Just like the rest of the team, I think she would continue to provide high quality videos for intermediate and advanced learners. I hope this is the first of MANY from her. Thanks for your efforts on DS Pablo and thank you Natalia for this video

Thanks for the video! I love that we have more Colombian accents here.

very neutral and easy to comprehend
@osoperezoso2608
@osoperezoso2608 Год назад
@@thinktankdonahue i don't think any accent is neutral really. Imo it's best to get used to a variety of different accents as not every Spanish speaking person will speak like this. I like the Columbian accent because it's closest to Panamanian which is what I'm aiming for. Really wish we had more Panamanian representation on DS.
@cacogenicist
@cacogenicist Год назад
@@osoperezoso2608 - Indeed, accents are all relative to other accents. But for some reason, Colombian Spanish (or at least sort of middle-class, urban Colombian Spanish) seems to be widely appreciated by N. American native English speakers for being easy to understand.
@osoperezoso2608
@osoperezoso2608 Год назад
@@cacogenicist yea I've heard that which is very interesting. Mainly because most of the Spanish you'll hear in the US are usually Mexican dialects, Puerto Rican, Dominican, and Cuban
@cacogenicist
@cacogenicist Год назад
@@osoperezoso2608 - I guess it's that they don't sort of swallow/rush through any of their syllables, don't drop word-final '-s' -- something like that.
