The sewol ferry accident is so tragic in many ways and I still cry over it whenever it comes up. It's important to know that while most of the senior crew abandoned ship while students were still inside, the crew person with the lowest level, the boat's cafeteria worker, Park Ji-Young, went through great lengths to save as many students as she could. Survivors said she took them out of the ship to safety just before the water fully entered the boat, and when the students told her to stay outside to escape with them, she told them the maritime rule that "the crew leaves last" and went back in. She died. She was only 22 years old.
What's wild about Armin is that he was posting this on a cannibal-enthusiast chatroom online. And actually one other guy responded to it first, went over to Armin's house, said "um actually no I don't want this", and Armin said "okay, thanks anyway, have a nice day!" and let him go without a fuss. A very polite and considerate cannibal, all things considered. 🤷🏼
Yeah I saw this as well. Armin shouldn't have gotten a life sentence though. Yes he killed and ate somebody. But he had him on camera agreeing to it. Even the dude tried and ate a piece of himself. When Armin friend it up in a frying pan. Armin really wasn't a murder he just did what someone asked him to do. So I really don't think Armin should have received a life sentence . Be the guy agreed to it and wanted this done to him. So Armin gave him what he wanted. I don't think he deserves a life sentence for that
@Sean McNew Like idk make Armin see a therapist or something, maybe have him check in with someone every year to be sure he isn't going off the rails with that. But I agree, he shouldn't have gotten life. It's a weird situation, I think it deserves an equally unusual sentence 🤷🏼
@@kats9755 ya maybe thrown in a psychward or something and given therapy At most he did an assisted suicide then misuse of a corpse (but not really cause he did what the guy wanted him to do to his body after he died) Maybe a small amount of jail for acually killing someone it's not like they agreed to take off an arm or leg and eat that together while keeping the dude alive
Kim Gwan-Hong was a civilian diver that volunteered to help retrieve the bodies of the students that drown in the ferry. It was so horrible that he ended up killing himself. In one of his last interviews he said something that truly broke my heart: “When we left the scene, there were small birds in the rain and wind. Those tiny birds… were flying around… in the storm. The birds were so tiny and beautiful. And their call so touching… but it sounded like the students’ wailing, asking me not to leave them behind.” May he rest in peace
@@melm8668 George Floyd's loss tickles me every day, I think no matter how bad my day is, well it can't be any worse than GFB's last. Does that makes sense? I think having people less than is great because it's so much easier to feel great about your own situation!
The worst part is the divers who recovered the bodies weren’t from police forces or the government. They were normal people volunteering to dive under and drag their bodies out. If I remember correctly one of those divers dragged out over 50 of those bodies and ended up killing himself later on due to how horrific it was.
Probably because police aren’t trained to be divers. It’s kinda ridiculous how people just assume police are these super humans when they are just as human as everyone else. It takes time to send in pro divers. So what they had, they had to work with. Unless they wanted their bodies to be swept away, eaten and so forth. I also saw the part where you put the were volunteering... they knew they were going to be hauling dead bodies. They could have stopped anytime. Honestly it’s a pretty f’d up story and the volunteers deserved better for saving the kids families from not having their bodies back with them.
@@rabbit3337 He is still ķinda right Many people assume that police are perfekt and can do everything And i know they are hard trained But you cant do everything this is the reason why there are so many different kinds of police no one can learn everything
The last one breaks my heart. I watched another video of this horrible incident and there were videos of the kids trying to make jokes to stay calm, saying goodbyes and "I love you" to their parents and family, some jokingly, unaware that they were gonna die. And some were really scared and crying. I also learned that the principal of the school killed himself out of guilt because he sent them on that trip. Just incredibly heartbreaking.
My son showed me parents identifying their kids bodies on shore and the mom's and dads were deciding who would go id the bodies when called over each trying to be the strong one for the other. Lovingly insisting "no i will , you stay here" then the parent (dads and moms alike) breaking the f- down like their soul was murdered and sucked out of them and crumple to ground just empty ppl with only screams ,questions to the air, and tears salty and un ending they were killed there and then visibly in a way i learned in college is visible on brain scans when life cycles are disrupted and parents bury their young, it's against nature.
@@jayy2949 yeh tragedies alike are just awful and makes you wonder what the point of life is etc. I have 3 children and I worry myself sick of all the horrendous things that could happen. I know it’s depressing but I just don’t think I could go on if something like this happened. Genuinely heartbreaking
I remember watching thise videos. Seeing the kids joke at first only later to become terrified and feared for their lives and make video messages to their loved ones was absolutely heartbreaking.
The Jeju Island ferry story is so tragic. It brings immense sadness everytime I think about it. Seems the divers who were later involved in procuring the bodies of the children got so depressed that one of them even committed suicide.
Yes, I saw a video on this too. The diver that committed suicide was too traumatized because the image of those poor drowned children was too much for him. Truly a tragic case this was. 😔
I had a 2nd-and-a-half degree burn on my left hand a few months ago and I'm sure I thought of eating my own peeling, burned skin (after the scab fell off, which surprisingly was only a little over a week later) at some point.
The second story was big in germany. Armin Meiwes was a "very polite canibal". The first man he met, changed his mind about the whole thing and Armin let him go home. He really wanted someone who was willing to do that. In prison he became vegetarian. Absolutely crazy.
I watched a longer documentary show about him and I think he had said he didn’t want to hurt or kill but just had a bizarre disturbing sexual fantasy about consuming another person in like a “spiritual way”
I read about that too. Totally strange that he didn't want to "kill" someone and this needed to be mutual. I thought that Brandis was driven back to the train station because the sedatives didn't work or whatever but then returned a couple days later and the act was carried out to completion? I may be incorrect, so plz let me know because it's been a while since I read about the case. Also, was that the same doc. where they went into Brandis's fetish, hiring male prostitutes, all refused to do what he asked?
One of the divers committed suicide a couple months after retrieving some of the Korean student’s bodies. It haunted him. I feel so bad about that incident
that second story reminded me of one of the episodes of the IT Crowd where Moss accidentally thinks an ad placed by a cannibal asking to eat someone was an ad for a cooking class and goes to his house and they're both like "oh whoops it was a misunderstanding, let's watch a movie"
Ugh I watched a whole documentary on the Jeju Island ferry accident and it made me physically ill how the government handled that entire situation. Those poor kids.
Yes, the fact that this could have been avoided had they had more people present going into the water, but more so the fact that someone moneygreed was the reason why the boat operated even tho it didn’t pass the tests & were paid off...that boat was going down either way, but the fact that it went down with mostly students is just heartbreaking! 💔
And that is why one shouldn't trust their government with their health and lives. Too much trust in authority figures and not enough thinking for oneself.
Me too. 😢 I just watched a documentary about it a couple weeks ago. Literally think about it EVERY DAY since. I've cried myself to sleep a couple times. I can't stop thinking about them kids and other passengers. I'm angry at the "captain" who saved himself first and nobody else. I want to bring them back so bad. 😓
@@morganiscool8545 Please be safe and enjoy yourself! I know they have completely overhauled the restrictions and laws around the ferry system. Just take extra care 💕
The sewol ship accident was so horrible. There are also phone calls from student to there parents saying that they love them and goodbye. It’s so sad. One student called his mom and she didn’t pick up, he kept calling her and she never picked up. Later she called him back and he didn’t pick up and she later got the news that the ship her son was on has sunk she she says that she regrets so much not picking up that phone call.
I remember when it happened in 2014. I had to pause the video and I decided to stop watching it because to this day this is still so painful to think about, the amount of rage I feel is still the same as I felt back in 2014.. I can't even imagine how devastated the families must be to this day
It makes me so angry as well. As it was so avoidable and unnecessary and the victims were basically killed by the negligence of the authorities in South Korea.
Perhaps a place where he has to relive that sinking moment as one of the kids that behaved over and over again and seeing the kids that lost their lives ditch him instead.
I can't help to think of the tragic accident of M/S Estonia (former M/S Viking Sally, where a horrific murder took place). Terrified mothers trying to save their kids from the cabins of a keeled over ship, just to be facing insane vertical depths of normally horizontal corridors. I have traveled on the same company ships after that from kid-age up, but I will never ever be drunk enough on-board as an adult to not be able to navigate to a rescue spot. I'm almost obsessively watching the on-board map as soon as I step foot onto a cruise ship. Call me paranoid but I would prefer to not die a horrible death, even though it is highly unlikely.
the story of Armin Meiwes and Bernd Brandes is actually even more interesting, if that's possible. they agreed on his method of death before the murder and cannibalism. it was one of the men's (I believe Brandes') fantasy that involved cutting off Brandes' penis and cannibalising it, and then allowing Brandes to bleed out from the wound in a pool or tub filled with water. this is the body part that Meiwes cut off in the beginning, and it's why Brandes was bleeding out. however, their agreement was that Brandes would die from exsanguination/blood loss, but Meiwes eventually decided it was taking too long for him to die this way and killed him himself. and it was _this_ deviation from the plan, the lack of consent from Brandes to allow himself to be killed in any way other than exsanguination, that allowed law enforcement to prosecute Miewes. as Mr. Ballen stated, there was extensive video showing Brandes consented to the rest, and there was actually considerable doubt on the law enforcement side about whether a charge would stick due to this extensive consent. But because Brandes did not consent to being killed by Meiwes before he lost enough blood, they were able to prosecute.
I am glad the cannibal was prosecuted and jailed. Clearly the victim was mentally ill and incapable of giving consent, and the psycho took advantage of that. No sane person in their right mind would want to go through such a painful death and then consumed after death. Very psychotic and disturbing! Actually, I think that psycho deserves death. Giving him life sentence is too good for him.
The Sewol Ferry incident really upset me. I lost a friend that day, she was in high school and we were pen pals trading language lessons. She was only 17.
I try to fall asleep with these stories playing, but you explain them so good every time you say you are showing pictures I have no choice but to look at my phone, causing a never ending cycle which ends with me staying up way to late.
The really sad part about the Sewol ship disaster is that there's actually footage from one of the student's phones where they joke about how its like a disaster movie where they're told to stay put when they're going to die; it's horrifying to know how many young people needlessly lost their lives
It was a female student. She was referencing the Daegu subway fire, where the subway train conductor told his passengers to stay put while he ran for his life, taking the subway key with him, leaving his passengers to their fate.
@@PyramidHACK Please take into consideration their culture. Kids are not only taught to obey and respect their elders, it is drilled in to them like you wouldn't believe. It has been that way in Korean culture for a long long time. It is rude to not continuously poor your elder a drink when their cup is empty, it is rude to not address them with the correct title, and when I say rude, I mean, it is as if you are slapping them in the face whenever you don't follow all of their customs. So when the captain says to stay in your room, even though a lot of them didn't want to, they did. They trusted the authority who unfortunately abused that power.

Honey, my life could cover MULTIPLE episodes. My father's life should literally be a book series and movies and involves the Chicago mafia, cocaine, and crimes and stories you'd call too crazy to be real. He lit people on fire for fun. He worked with a literal serial killer that was only caught and put away a few tears ago, Andre Crawford, and from what the drivers at the Chicago Sun-Times know he killed WAY WAY more prostitutes and women from the Southside because a guy I consider a brother was given a bag of a dozen+ pairs of women's shoes by Andre and so those never made it into the record. My mother was hit by a train in her early 20's and if not for being a trauma survivor addict from a crime filled addict family it could have been an inspiring story but instead the story is full of everyone in her family killing themselves or dying in prison. My last Uncle died last year after getting out for a murder he committed in 1986. I can't even tell you most of my stuff because I'm still living it and don't know what might still be actionable.
For the last story, I heard there were Japanese ships offering help and many countries reached Korea offering help and they rejected them all. The captain told them to stay in their rooms while he and his crew got ready to escape and leave them to their death. This is way more dark that it seems.
I'm Korean, and I feel ashamed whenever I recall of this incident. Kinda hate how my country is so dogsh*t with being severely corrupted and stuff since there are other ridiculous things I could mention going on here. Man I should've stayed in Canada. The food is pretty good here though ngl
@@dibyaudhdas1978 @Dibyaudh Das It's not that bad when live here without much thought tbh so I'm afraid that I might've given you the wrong impression about Korea. I myself, haven't really been involved in these kinds of incidents, and Korea is definitely overall a very safe place to be considering its crime rates and stuff. In terms of overall safety and convenience, I'd say Korea does nail it though it may vary depending on which area you are in. However, as I did state in my previous comment, the corruption thingy is kind of annoying. To be more exact I think that unfair incidents often occur in Korea due to personal connections especially regarding politics. For instance it's seldom questioned how incapable ppl with not much enough knowledge for a certain position was given such position in the first place, and a lot of our nation's financial resources seems to get wasted here and there which is often speculated to be caused by bribery and corruption caused by personal connections interfering in formal matters. For this particular incident, I heard that there were military vessels that could've rescued ppl before this situation happened, or while it was happening, but the vessels were in fact defected so they were not given permission to go help them with those vessels by the higher ups in the military. Why did they have defected vessels in the first place? Their gear was not in the right shape if I recall correctly and I think this must have happened cause they attempted to save costs for additional profit. But all of this doesn't affect you too much if you don't give it too much thought, so you wouldn't have many or even any problems even if you do move in to Korea. It just gets pretty annoying if you get to know more about it through various means.
Those poor kids. The families of those kids all deserve for the funerals paid for. I remember watching a documentary about the survivors and how they went back to class. So many desks were empty because all their classmates died.
I don't know how you guys do it. There was this one time I was laying in my bed watching his videos. I fell fast asleep, but woke up a few moments later still hearing Mr. Ballen's voice telling a really disturbing story (I can't remember what it was about). I felt scared for my life and my heart was racing. Then I quickly put my phone away and covered my head with my blanket :')
I’ve seen him on insta in a plain white shirt and no hat, looking like he may have done a zoom call or conference for his business and he looked GOOOOOOD!!!
My first year teaching in korea was when sewol happened. They released the final text messages the children sent to their parents and my soul just died. It was absolutely heartbreaking and unnecessary and the worst part was we were all watching it live over here not knowing that it would end like this. Unfortunately, last year in itaewon we had a similar incident with the Halloween crush which took over 150 lives most of which are university students.
Sadly it was all so unnecessary and a result of systemic corruption and negligence. Worst of all was a captain too paralyzed with fear and ultimately self preservation to save them when there was still time.
A few teachers were so guilt/grief stricken that they hung themselves on the island they were going to. To this day that cowardly "captain" makes my blood boil. In charge of all those kids lives & he took THE 1ST LIFEBOAT
It's a different culture than mine, so I don't understand how a teacher would feel guilty for what was out of their control and clearly the fault of the Captain. And I think of the teachers' families, and their children. Not only losing their parent, sister, daughter, etc but by act of suicide the shame on the families. Terrible and unjust.
@@changeintheair9648 A lot of Asian cultures have traditions with suicide. I don't think it brought shame to their families. There is so much more to the Maura Murray story, it would take a complete podcast to tell it. There were lots of suspects, and a strange encounter with a witness who saw something strange as she drove past the car. No footsteps in the snow, but the mountain rescue dogs had her scent for about 100 meters, then it vanished. Other similar murders that may be linked. This story is very puzzling.
Any links that you might know of? This is interesting in terms of the unanswered questions. I thought maybe she’d been picked up by a previously arranged (boyfriend or who knows). Is it certain no one else was driving by in either direction around that time?

Oh my god, Sewol was a huge topic in Korea. I remember the day it sank. The news websites had counters showing rescued people, lost people, and the dead. It chilled me to the bone as the dead number rose up to 3 digits..that day I kept the news page open as I went about my daily activities. I didn't pay much attention at first because news footage showed it was sinking so slowly, and no turbulence in the water. At evening, I checked thinking everyone must be rescued by then. But no..I was shocked. The next day, the dead number on the counter was increasing at a crazy rate. I had class at college that day but couldn't focus at all. Too many souls lost..
I was living in South Korea when the Sewol sank. Such a sad day for everyone that could have easily been avoided. Your recount is spot on. This was actually a Japanese ship sold to Korea. It operated for 18 years in Japan without incident (because it was being operated correctly and safely). From what i remember the Japanese seller told the Korean buyers not to make any modification or carry additional items on the bow, which they did....which also contributed to it listing and eventually capsizing.

It really annoys me that officials tell people to stay put when they should evacuate. I actually saw a video online a while back now.. it was from the third story. It was the students recording on their phones in their rooms all with life jackets on and water starts running into the halls / rooms and they’re all so confused...some are scared, some are laughing anxiously, some are recording themselves telling their families they love them and that they don’t want to die. I didn’t know he even gave the order to evacuate! I was under the impression her told everyone to stay and await instructions and put on life vests...it’s believed that if the people hadn’t been wearing they would have survived! Being so far into the ship, on its side, with the life vests on basically made it nearly impossible for anyone to escape once they realized there wasn’t going to be any more instructions! That captains negligence and cowardice literally cost the lives of nearly 300 CHILDREN! I thought Scetino (not sure of spelling, the captain of the costa concordia) was a coward and scum of the earth....but THIS guy takes the cake!

My heart sank when you mentioned JeJu-Do because I knew what you were going to say. God, I remember watching the last incident on the Korean news. I thought it wasn't that bad at first because we watched KBS and it seemed like the kids were being rescued, but then other news outlets contradicted it and I realized KBS is funded by the government which was responsible for this disaster. We called our grandparents and my cousins in Incheon and Seoul and begged them not to take any ferries or any water-based travel because we couldn't trust they would be safe. The loss of so many lives, especially so close to my age at the time, was terrifying and heartbreaking... I lived in Gwangju at that time, and woke up to helicopters flying over my apartment building. I remember the TV news claiming that all had been rescued when I left for work , and hearing otherwise as the day wore on. I just remember the feelings of sadness and anger towards the government. The last time that I visited Gwangju in 2017, the yellow ribbons were still up in my old neighborhood.
Nothing like watching Mr. Ballen after taking a shower at almost three in the morning. A friend recommended this channel and I love it already. Keep up the great work, Mr. Ballen! I love these types of videos!
The ferry story reminds me of the Korean shopping center collapse that killed a bunch of people. The building has originally been designed, engineered and approved as an office building. Then during construction the developer made all these huge changes to turn it into an indoor “shopping mall”, cutting out huge sections of the floor and roof diaphragms to create a massive atrium and skylight, reducing the size of the structural columns, and adding a massive a/c unit on the roof. The developer has bribed the inspectors and gotten all the changes approved without making any engineering corrections to compensate for the weakening of the building structure.
If anyone was wondering about the Sewol Ferry Disaster, the President of South Korea, Park Geun-Hye was impeached due to corrupt budget cuts to the South Korean Coast Guard. The recovery efforts were also cut short for god knows what reason. There are still volunteer divers that go out to try and recover bodies to this day. The history and information about this disaster is insane. If this interested you, I suggest going and doing some research. It is 100% worth your time and the negligence will infuriate you.
Glad someone was held accountable BUT was he fall guy for someone further up the chain? So often in some countries, low official or worker gets the blame for what a higher official decided.
Thank you for sharing. I watched a documentary on the accident, and I felt they did a good job recounting it, but also giving all the facts as to why it happened, and how it could have been avoided. Such a tragedy.
I noticed a lot of scathing comments about the captain, who handled the situation atrociously, but he wasn't the genesis of the catastrophe. Thanks for sharing that info.
@@shadowfox009x I really didn’t have to find this comment and search it up.. I desperately wanted my first thought that came to mind when I read your comment to not be true, but then it was...
I really like how you shared the third incident with evidence and facts of what happened. Most Asian videos about that event always revolve around conspiracy theories but I think the evidence you shared are pretty clear why all of that happened. I was actually in Korea right after this happened and I still remember seeing all those parents setting up stands on the street with their kids’ photos and written stories of what happened. It was truly a tragedy.
I am having an ppms flare up and the binge watching Me Ballen is a huge help!! Your are an amazing person from ur story telling ability to serving your country!! A man of many talents!! Thank you Mr Ballen for making this painful miserable experience I am having to not thinking about it and thinking about the next story 😻😻😻😻😊😊
I listen to him when I am going thru a migraine spell. The stories get my mind off the pain (not so much the "photo" stories because i have to look at the screen, but others).
That last story is terrifying. I cannot imagine being completely helpless in your own death. I do know for sure that if I'm on a ferry, or any kind of boat that capsized or fell over onto its side, there's no way in hell I'm just staying in my damn room like what? I cannot comprehend doing that. I don't care how much experience the captain has, its not made to float on it's feckin side and we sure as hell aren't gonna get out and push it back over like a rolled over jeep
To understand why they stayed, you have to be aware of korean culture. Firstly remember they were children, and you're already taught to listen to adults. Secondly there is a big thing in korean culture about listening to those older than you, and people who hold positions above you, which also explains why most of the crew listened to the captain and abandoned ship with him. Not doing what you're told isn't seen as an option.
Most teenagers don’t know any better. Their whole lives have been spent, conditioned to take orders from adults, to respect their elders and do as they’re told by the adults in charge. That captain has a special place in hell. He should have been served the death penalty instead of life in prison. He didn’t deserve air, he still doesn’t deserve to have air in his lungs. Just like all those kids he killed who were denied air in theirs. The bastard.
Something I learned from ship sinking documentaries is the moment a ship is starting to list you get on deck and close to a lifeboat. If told to go back inside ignore it and stay on deck. If a ship is listing it is taking on water, doubly so if it's on its side entirely. Not that am blaming the poor people who died, the captain and crew is at fault.
5:04 It's very common for dogs to only be able to track about that far when the person has gotten in a car. So she must've been picked up by someone via a car, truck or such. Rest is a mystery
Yes I thought the same as you as to who picked her up... Let's say it was federal Marshalls, her accident was staged and she now is alive and well but as a person in the witness protection program she is a totally different person, unfortunately she had to cut all ties to her old life never to be heard from again. LoL just a guess mind you.
Why is nobody talking about the two ppl putting ads online to eat and to be eaten?? Like that one was probably one of the most disturbing ones I’ve listened to. Hella weird.
If you watch the video made by Wang! He explains how it was actually fairly common within those threads to talk about eating and getting eaten by people but mostly as a kink and no one actually went through with it until these 2.
Brent Haney not entirely too sure but what I do remember is that the "piece of meat" they attempted to eat was actually the Brandes' penis so I assume it was also somehow sexual. Also Meiwis was known to having bitten and almost killed his previous gay sexual partner. Edit: That last part is wrong it was actually Brandes who tried to have his ex boyfriend bite his penis off and even took a knife into bed with them once.
I watched a documentary about the Sewol disaster and always wondered why it sank as it wasn’t properly explained on the documentary I saw. Terrible disaster and it makes me so angry as well as sad. Due to the illegal refurbishments and the negligence from the majority of the crew and the authorities. Also on the documentary I watched, one of the students trapped on the ship said that the people who don’t stay put in disasters and try to escape normally survive and the ones who stay put normally perish.
I watched a couple documentaries on it. In all of them they stated or alluded to the captain never put out an evacuation notice, but proceeded to evacuate himself. Either way is messed up. But when I heard that the last command was to stay where you were and then nothing. I was shocked. It took a long time to sink and divers were willing to go in and rescue but they were told by the government/authorities not to. The US military ship was there in 40min. As well as a ship from Japan but they turned both away. The political tension made them decide it was worth killing all those kids and not get help. They had many people trying. There’s even footage of fishing boats getting yelled at for not turning around. They weren’t even letting fishing boats help. So sick.
This is the first time I can't finish a Mr. Ballen video. I have seem enough of that last incident and it is do sad and infuriating, it always let me so frustrated thinking about it. RIP all those murdered kids 😔
I remember the Costa Concordia and the Italians who were ordering and demanding the captain get back on his ship, he refused. I think he's in prison and was sentenced to 16yrs. So very sad 😥
Marlon Brando lmao 😂 glad it’s not just me! 😂 I like to think I’ve got a pretty solid stomach after ten years vet nursing. But the hotdog water ice cube totally got me. 😂
I actually know someone who accidentally drank hot dog water while we were camping some years back (the hot dogs weren’t sealed well in our cooler). It definitely didn’t go well for him. 🤢
That ship disaster was so sickening. Those poor children. You should have included the pictures from the outside where rescue workers are trying unsuccessfully to bust open the small windows to rescue the kids before they drown.
The Sewol Ferry accident breaks my heart every time I hear about it. Those students did not deserve what happened to them. The survivors had to go back to school without their friends, its completely devastating.
Thank you for covering Maura Murray’s story I grew up in Whitman Massachusetts which is like 8 minutes away from where she was from in Hanson and this case has baffled all of us who are from there. I hope her case is solved in my lifetime. Her sister is still fighting for answers and has never given up on Maura (that’s what sisters do) I just hope she also finds answers in her lifetime her sister deserves answers as well
That “ Captan” should have been the last to leave, and basically go down with the ship. Those poor students, if only they had the same gumption that the surviving student had. This was totally an avoidable tragedy!
The K-pop group BTS wrote a song about the ferry incident to memorialize all those that lost their lives. It’s called “Spring Day” and has never left billboards top 200 list.
Maybe or maybe not. It's open to interpretation. From an article about the song on genius.com: “Spring day” seems likely to be a tribute to the Sewol Ferry tragedy. Though not the complete song but one part is dedicated to that. There are no official confirmations from BTS themselves on saying that “Spring Day” was actually about the Sewol ferry tragedy as BTS wished to leave the interpretation of the songs and MV to the viewers as they mentioned during their Wings Tour in Seoul Press conference.
Ever since I started listening to and watching you tell these stories, I became ABSOLUTELY ADDICTED. You're awesome at this 👏 and I literally watch and listen to you for hours on end! I've even called in sick to work before! 😆❤
Everyday I look forward to that notification. “Mr Ballen had posted” makes my morning, noon, and night. It would be really cool if you did do an hour long video!
I second that lol I do the same thing I always look forward to your videos but like Eddie says u should definitely do an hr long one I would totally watch it.
As soon as this popped up on my phone I got myself a cup of coffee and started watching. Watching your videos is literally the best part of my day! Keep up the great work and never stop telling stories! From one combat vet to another, thank you for your service and sacrifices.
the last story truly touched my heart.but there’s one story that hasn’t been told in this video.a teenage couple in that ship realized that they’re probably going to die so they tied their wrists together.this tragic story actually broke my heart.
