Bishop Brigante started a Clubhouse room discussing who the TOP 3 rappers from Queens NY. He was joined early on by Immortal Technique, Glasses Malone, and Van Lathan. Stay tuned for parts 2-5
Nas, Run DMC, Mobb Deep, Nature, Blaq Poet, Craig G, Tribe, LL Cool J, Kool G. Rap, Large Professor, Big Noyd, Sweet Tee, Pharaoh Monch, Prodigy, Tragedy Khadafi, Cormega, 50 Cent, Ja Rule, Nicki Minaj, Roxanne Shante, Stack Bundles, Grafh, Salt n Pepa, Kid n Play (House Party movies), Action Bronson, The Beatnuts, Capone n Nore, Onyx, Mc Shan, Marly Marl, G-Unit, Lost Boyz, Chinx, Canibus, Black Sheep, 3rd Base, Akinyele, Mic Geronimo, Royal Flush, Organized Konfusion, Father Mc, Black, Rock and Ron. Of course without Russel Simmons creator of (Def Jam) nothing is possible. Queens hands down the best borough in Hip Hop period.
If you like that one you should check out Force MD's "Tender Love"... you can add that to your playlist for when your at the salon getting your pedi and cucumber mask treatment...lol burned
The same argument can be made for Queens rap groups. U have to say Run DMC and Tribe at 1 & 2, but that number 3 slot it subjective. CNN, Mobb Deep, Oynx, etc.
@Jamaal DavisI get him not being in Top3 from queens bc of sales/impact that way and a lot of other great Queens emcees, but to not get a mention as a legendary lyricist is just wrong.
I don't understand the point of Clubhouse there was so many ways you come in contact and have mutual conversations without the means of Clubhouse. So what necessarily is the point of making another platform more famous than what it needs to be when we all have phones would apps that was already capable of doing what is done with Clubhouse. Also what was stopping a black or Latino from making something very similar to Clubhouse and using that as a stepping stone to have mature conversations. Clubhouse made a billion dollars in 9 months because a bunch of famous people made it possible 4 billion dollars to be made within nine months. Meanwhile everybody saying let's work together let's build together all while building someone else's establishment that has nothing to do with the true culture of anything.
@@Synchronite I don't think he's that rational. He is a slightly more articulate version of T.I. in that he carefully and methodically spins narratives to align with his personal beliefs. Go look at that Kanye West speech at TMZ a few years ago, that's a good example. Candace Owens stepped in and called him out.
Oh yeah I'm a good friend of and went to HS with the one and only the man my mellow get on the mic cause you know you eat jello... greatest lyricist of all time dead or alive.... yuuuup... It's a BIG DADDY THING aka THE GOAT... if ya don't know now ya told... EPMD played the HS reunion couple years ago... I prefer to remember them as they were back in the day when they were strictly business but it was good to see them anyway
@Sir NICK g rap had the most skills guys like big pun looked up to him because of his skill level. Though musically prodigy is better than g rap. I feel infamous and hell on earth was better than any g rap album.
@Sir NICK Pun is much better than 50. Again commercial success is not important when it comes to hip hop. Capital punishment is better than any 50 album.
@Sir NICK lol Capital punishment destroys 50's albums. Pretty much the whole album is better than any 50 song. Check out the classic track tres leches with prodigy and deck. You clearly into the commercial bs rap with no real substance. Let me guess you are also a big fan of lil Wayne lol so overrated these rappers are.
@Sir NICK Get rich is overrated just like 50. Capital punishment is a much better hip hop album. Sorry but alot of commercial hip hop is wack because it appeals to pop music heads and the music is watered down. I am not talking about other genres of music I am talking strictly hip hop. Yes in other genres commercial music like Michael Jackson is good but generally in hip hop its wack. Its all subjective.
I'm gonna put my bid in for FLAVA FLAAAV.... Showem that we can do this... cause we always knew this...HAHA.... YEEEAAAH BOOOOOOOY... c'mon now how can you not throw flav in there hahaaa
I can't deny LL's impact on hip hop but they got it wrong to put him before Run DMC. That's when you saw and heard a change in hip hop that even LL was influenced by them.
@@DI-hw5qr LL wrote Can You Rock It Like This for Run DMC. It was the 3rd single off the King of Rock album. I remember buying that cassette tape and that song was a good song on the album but not the best song. My favorite song on the album is Darryl and Joe, aka...Crush Groove 3. When I heard that beat I had never heard a beat like that one. It was hardcore during those times. That's why I tell people who don't know hip hop in the early days they need to start from the beginning and and go forward so they can hear the rappers or groups that changed the style and sound to the next level. That's very important. But anyway, can you rock it like this is not a song that made Run DMC who they are and it's not one of their most lyrical songs either.
@@ShawnyTsunami Ja was wack for a plethora of reasons. Ja was really running around doing his best Pac impersonating w no shame 😂 I don’t respect Ja pen at all
When did hip hop become a horse race? Everybody gotta be put in a position and given a number value? Where they do dat at? Beastie Boys got LL's demo heard and signed to Def Jam in 84... funny how people like to leave facts out of the story and rewrite history to their liking. Chuck D is from Flushing so to leave probably the most important man ever in the history of hiphop out of any equation regarding importance and/or quality is just whick whick whack... If your gonna rep the NYC lets spit the truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth... NYC the place where it all began we have to keep it 100 straight out the gate
EPMD is from Brentwood, LI... I know them well went to HS wit them... they played at the HS reunion a couple years ago... quite a few rappers hail from Strong Island, Rakim/Chuck D/Busta Rhymes and quite a few more... Rakim is from Wyandanch or "The Danch", you don't go there unless you tuckin... Snoop Dogg went to a Long Beach magnet high school for intelligent kids with his 147 IQ, he grew up in a church going family and played the piano in high school... dudes hard core lmao
I’m in the mirror with this next comment. Me: Remember when you doubted LL ? Me: uhhhh kinda! Ok ok ok I can’t lie to you my g yes I remember when I doubted LL! Me: Then why after all these years of doubt, Did you just agree with everything they just said about LL Cool J? Me: because I was full of shit as a youth! LL got that!
What are u talking about. Queens is the most diverse place in the world. Everybody in the world ones here to live and we have both air ports, so u land in Queens when step in NYC. Stop hating
@@aWiseManOnceToldMe87 dude like what I said talk to most out of towners they don't even know about Queens, Only a few, If you talk to most out out towners they know Brooklyn, Bronx and Manhattan. Staten Island and Queens not in that talk homes
@@aWiseManOnceToldMe87 "I'm on every queens trend hating" the lies you tell, do me a favor and shut the fuck up, "I'm from a poor place", STUPID I'M FROM JAMAICA,QUEENS DUMB ASS. Stop chatting your argument is not even valid, and if I'm from a poor place that means Queens is poor, like what I said shut up and again I hit you with Factss, Manhattan is Economy is more superior to any borough in New York. Staten Island is the most suburban borough and has the best quality mansions in New York, Staten Island is so wealthy they are the only borough that voted from Trump mostly and they are a Republican borough you lack knowledge know facts before you talk to me dude NawFR, and Brooklyn is NYC most populous borough according to statistics and It's proven, so stop chatting and go read a book
@@thefreakyrobber0 sold doesn’t equate to impact and ability. Mobb Deep came out with heavy street shit and then boom there’s a lane for mafiaso rap. We can credit g rap but mobb deep to me popularized they tre d of New York street rap but there’s was more street level project POV. And he’s a top emcee from the era for as long as Ja Rule’s prime was.
And to be honest to really answer the question you had to be around for all the eras which I was y’all young boy go listen to H rap old shit nothing prodigy ever made can stand next to G rap talent and that a fact and I’m also. Mob Deep fan. G rap one of the illest ever ther would be no big pun and so many other great without G rap #SnappleFact
I was thinking more like Martha Stewart and Designer... definitely nothing close to Slick Rick... Slick is a British rapper and a story teller nothing like Snoops slow pot smoking vibe
@@L1am21 I agree. Schooly’s gangsta content was more subtle and subliminal on records but he is still widely credited as the originator, even ice cube gives him that title. After Schooly, it was Ice -T who took it a step further with “6 in the morning”. Then NWA took it to new heights with their visuals and what we now consider “gangsta rap”. Eazy E’s own debut single “Boyz-n-the Hood” used the same Schooly D flow from PSK as well. Can’t leave out Schooly from the history books.
@@grinchoi1 NIGGAZ BEEN RAPPING AND RHYMING ABOUT CRIME SINCE THE EARLY 70'S IN FORT GREENE BROOKLYN... SCHOOLY AND OTHER CATS RAPPED ABOUT CRIME...BUT GANGSTA RAP ON A MAINSTREAM LEVEL IS A PRODUCT OF THE WESTCOAST
