As for Obsidian, you don't really need to spend 10USD to sync notes. For simple syncing, Syncthing can work. If you're more techie, there's more way to sync stuff.

Great video! I think I'm going to give Obsidian a shot. Does anyone know if I can sync Obsidian note on PC to Obsidian note on iPad?

Interesting video... I think the mind maps are cool looking, but can't imagine me actually using them often. Currently trying to figure out what app to go with.
