I'm limited experience, tried Beaver Craft, and the little thin handle was built well, but my medium/large hands were hurting. I was agreeing it's to thick. I'm a Blacksmith Hobbiest and keep it cool and thin it to 14 mm because I purchased 3 Badger State Blades and tried to size them equally and I'm good at sharpen but out of the box the Badger State Blades does cut much better. Question? How do you rate Badger State Blades if you have experienced them as they are new business but have roots in their experience.
A lot of people look at me like I'm crazy but my favorite carving knife is one I carry every day. It's a Kershaw double cross lock pocket knife. Mine is the small one, I have the large one but I don't like it as much. I keep both blades as sharp as any of my carving knives and carving is all I use it for. Thanks for the video
@danielmilliken8903 I don't know the number on it but I do know it was made in Washington blades both had inline locks and I believe made of a Japanese steel.taken out of production I think around 12 to 12 years ago
I'm fairly new I'm using the flexcut 2.0 multi Just got a couple beaver craft they look nice look forward to trying them out Also ordered a badger state blade's tie dye color waiting for it to arrive chip away guy's and gal's
My Dave Notto and OCC knives were my favorite -- until I finally got my first Helvie! I still use the Dave Notto knife on occasion in combination with my Helvie (it's at thinner blade and I like it for some specific things when I carve) but my all time favorite is definitely my Helvie roughout.
My no.1 is Del Stubbs Pinewood Forge sloyd knife, for rough work I’m a mora 106, I’ve tried to get a helvie but I don’t seem to be lucky enough to find that unicorn. Thank you for the info, carve on !
Warther cutlery out of Dover Ohio they are world-class kitchen cutlery and they also have wood carving knives all of their knives regardless what you get from them hold their Edge for a very long time outside of their knives I have never had any cutting tool ever hold in hitch as long as these do. And all of their knives are made in the USA
Just checked out the Lee Ferguson knives...they look fantastic. Tried to buy a few but they are currently not shipping to Canada. Will have to keep my eye out. Thanks for sharing!
