If you like dogs, you would LOVE it here. It is still very common to see pets in everyday places. Boca is very dog friendly compared to other areas in Florida. I was shocked when I first moved here.

We live in the Pinelands area near FAU, Boca Hospital & Old Floresta. Fortunately we've not experienced the disrespectful behavior you shared. It's disappointing, yet not surprising. Thank you for highlighting our city. It really is quite nice, well maintained and friendly. Regarding Publix, yes they are frankly "greedy". When they only had stores in Florida years ago, it seemed like a much more enjoyable and reasonably priced store. It was a "Pleasure" to shop there! Now we patronize Trader Joes, Whole Foods and the New Aldi on Federal as it is near my office. Publix is only for the specials and some of their Deli offerings. We lived in Atlanta for a while and Publix pricing is competitive there as they compete with Kroger.
Thanks for commenting! Yes! The type of behavior that I was speaking about are rare occurrences overall. It's just when it happens, you will remember it. We regularly go to Sugar Sands park and in a time frame of an entire year we only had that one incident. Most other parents are completely fine. I have some friends who work retail and they have some crazy stories though. Boca has been amazing since moving here. It was one of the cleanest and nicest cities that we saw in Florida and knew once that our daughter was getting closer to school age that we wanted to move here. Still enjoying it. I lived in north Florida for a while and never felt stunned by the prices at Publix compared to other stores. I had adapted to shopping at other places down here though. I need to check out Aldi more.
This is probably one of the worst examples in a very long time where entitlement has finally been caught on film. The national coverage was a stain on our beloved city. Thankfully, it appears that the teens will get the maximum charge for their horrific behavior. Additionally it is expensive to live here. I go to Costco for groceries. I also get my gas at the Broward County line to save on gas when not at Costco. Unfortunately, other South Florida residents have done much more damage to our country. Hang in there. The majority of people here are like us and care about our community. Don’t let it get to you…Karma is real 😂
Yes! When I first saw what those teens did leaving Boca Bash, I was shocked and didn't think it was in Boca. It was being shared in another Reddit group. Thankfully, I am going to Costco and Trader Joe's a lot more to save on food prices. But, Publix locations are everywhere around me and it's still easy to stop in really quick and get out. However, the enjoyment is going down with the prices going up. Thanks again for sharing!
