SO true. I pay attention to the culture around me and I know who Taylor Swift is. Still can’t name a song by her, but I recognize her very easily. THAT’S a celebrity! Like a Kardashian (they’re related to to husband/dad Robert but how many of us have any clue as to what it is that any of them actually do for work?), a celebrity is just KNOWN! This is why I wasn’t disappointed when there was no mention of Mariska Hargitay (mom Jayne Mansfield, dad Mickey Hargitay). I don’t think folks just KNOW who she is that well. @@MajesticalHonky the cousins found on Finding Your Roots ARE distant. They don't find first cousins. They find cousins so far removed that the only proof of a connection is DNA. If you are, say, 6th cousins you share great great great great great grandparents, more than likely from at least the 1700s or further back. That's distant. Saying cousins cannot be distant relatives is insane.

@@thomholbrook7286 First cousins are not very distant relations and since those were just mentioned as cousins and nothing was specified I assumed they were first cousins.

If it had been anything closer than third or fourth cousins, they would’ve said “hey let’s figure this out.” First cousins, they definitely would have made a big deal about it in the show. But I remember these episodes and thinking it was odd that Dr. Gates wasn’t clear on the degree of cousin.

@@Uncle_Smidge Listen, so what if I have a hyper fixation on a CRIMINALLY UNDERRATED ACTOR named James Paxton, it's not fully that both Mrs. Mojo and WatchMojo only wanna talk about the bigger celebrities and never focus or talk about anything else, and honestly I'm infatuated with him because he's super multi talented, handsome, cute, hot, sexy, funny, humble, caring, loving, protective of his family, he doesn't discriminate, he's six feet tall with chocolate brown hair and beautiful ocean blue eyes, he's passionate about both music and acting, and he has a pure heart of gold... But unfortunately he's not getting the true recognition and attention he clearly deserves... At least in my eyes it seems like he's not getting enough popularity and he's really good at acting and being a musician in his own way.... So my question is why do you even care? I've been watching both Mojo's for a while now and they haven't mentioned or had done a list of Actor Bill Paxton's movies roles not ONE time and frankly that upsets me because he was amazingly talented Actor too and I'm positive his SON James Paxton is going to accomplish truly fantastically achievements someday, so it's true that I'm a little over-obsessed and hyper fixated on a famous Actor but at this point? Who isn't? You're probably hyper fixated on someone famous too, so don't judge me for being hyper fixated on two Actors who clearly aren't appreciated enough and leave me alone.
